Did my research today - Ovation & Quantum are sister ships, main difference is Quantum is 2 years older. Curious as to why Quantum is struggling with bookings and Ovation is not - Thoughts? To the OP, enjoy your future cruise.

Had a wild lightning storm come through Sydney last night. It was hot & humid before, so we sat out on the deck and watched it approach. One of the early flashes of lightning lit up our big paperbark tree and we could see the baby possums climbing higher & deeper for safety. photo taken by a family member of the sky at their place last night

“Weekender” on 7plus, Season 22, Episode 42 has a full episode focusing on the Carnival Luminosa, sailing out of Brisbane. The episode was shown free to air yesterday in QLD. Im in Sydney and was able to watch the episode today via 7plus.

Only visited Disneyland once. We did it in combo with Knott’s Berry Farm. Back in the late 80s. My biggest recollection from them was the churros. First time we had eaten them.

We had a bbq lunch in the bush picnic area and appreciated the modern drop toilet structure nearby Local bush shelter with pink flamingo cushions (photo taken yesterday, when the sun was out) .

This wasn’t the beach we walked to but having walked to this beach multiple times in the past, I can understand the sign…. The beaches we did walk to, clearly had a lot of driftwood

Wet Sunday in Sydney. Didn’t stop us bushwalking though. Love walking through the bush in the rain.

Fall Guy tv series starring Ryan Gosling is being filmed on Sydney Harbour Bridge this morning - with the bridge & Cahill expressway closed to cars, buses & pedestrians from 3am-10am. Only way to get across the bridge is via train and one might get a glimpse of Ryan doing some stunts in a bridge red jacket.

I would add - the truck didn’t beep at you because you exited the car without turning off the keyless ignition….or in my case just after we bought our car, at least once a week I would get a message from colleagues that my car was beeping in the car park. Sigh. I am not a fan of keyless ignition.

I second Sue’s recommendation. Here is book one - The Thursday Murder Club (probably different covers in US & UK). Currently reading book 2 - The Man who died twice - and enjoying it. The series is hugely popular over here too.

Despite the disappointing food, pleased that the wonderful company and attentive staff made for a lovely evening I was intrigued by the floating tree. Apparently it was created by an Israeli artist and installed in 1993. It’s a full size orange tree that bears fruit. Love the ideas that artist’s come up with.

Hot day in Sydney yesterday. Most of the city headed to the beach. DH headed north and spent the morning at Killcare Beach. DD headed to the harbour with friends. Both reported the beaches were packed, but worth it. Debate going on in Sydney atm about all the large overhead canopies that families take to the beach for sun protection - they take up too much space according to some people.. - in my opinion as someone who is dealing with the consequences sun exposure in childhood - as long as families are protecting their kids from sun damage - they can use whatever they want - and with 20+ beaches to chose from on the Northern Beaches alone…we have the space.

That is so sweet. Having his company next to you would have been lovely. How is your “new” Walker going? I know you’ve had it a while now.
