On the payment page there is an actual box for payment with OBC....you just enter the appropriate amount.... Celebrity won't have my credit card details as I booked & paid deposit through a TA
I also booked and paid through a TA. Celebrity DID have my credit card details.

Is this different for every ship? We were on Ovation and Anthem late last year and will be on Quantum in a few days. We found NO ice cream in the WJ (there might have been gelato or something that you had to pay for) so the only choices were in the MDR (generic vanilla/choc/strawberry were the only flavors available) or that horrible (IMHO) soft-serve chemical stuff. Not even any frozen yogurt!

Quick follow up question. Onpoint says any covid kit is acceptable. We have the test kits from the Government that were obtained from USPS. Boxes are unsealed, there is no FDA approved sticker, are these test kits valid. Cruise is from Vancouver, if that makes any difference.
That could be a problem. Our government USPS sent tests are sealed and have the FDA emergency use authorization logo. I would call onpoint and ask them about the specific test kit you have.

Thank you ....your answer encouraged me to explore the excursions on offer and if you add the excursions that you want to the cart then go through to payment page it gives you the option of using any amount of your OBC for excursions chosen....great
Be careful when attempting this! I booked an excursion on the page that showed how much OBC I had. It did not ask me how I wanted to pay, so I just assumed it would take it out of the OBC. Wrong! It charged my credit card (the one I used to pay for the cruise) without asking me. I had to call up and get someone to book it again using the OBC, but only after I cancelled the first credit card one.

That you know of. Plenty of people have had covid, just never knew it
Very true. I stand corrected- we haven't ever tested positive for covid, haven't had any symptoms, and haven't been prevented from taking any cruises because of covid. (And I'd like to keep it that way.)

Crew on Quantum are wearing them and we’ve had no issues as we are wearing them in most public places, especially theater, casino, and elevators.
Glad to hear this, since we'll be on Quantum next week. We plan to mask also (well, except when we're eating and drinking!) We haven't had Covid yet, and not even a cold for almost 3 years...and I'd like to keep it that way!

We are on next week's Quantum cruise. I was planning on reserving at least one dinner at the Solarium Bistro, so I will be very disappointed if indeed it has been removed as an option for us. We ate at the Solarium Bistro on Anthem and on Ovation and it was a nice change. The lunch buffet (no reservations) is just a MUCH smaller version of what is available in the Windjammer. The dinner is completely different. There's a buffet of appetizers (like hummus, baba ganoush, and other middle eastern specialties.) Then you order from a limited number of main dishes (including lamb, my favorite). For dessert, there's a buffet of items including baklava. I hope someone will let us know if they open it up again to the rest of us (non-suite) guests.

In all my past cruises, I always brought 2 bottles of Gekkeikan Sake without any issues. It has about 15.6 alcohol ABV
https://www.totalwine.com/wine/sake-plum-wine/sake/gekkeikan-sake/p/8506750Good to know! I've considered bringing on sake but wasn't sure if they'd make a fuss about it...(Although some sake has a much higher ABV than that!) Also, doesn't some sake come in 1 liter bottles(which is supposedly not allowed)?

I brought a 750ml bottle of Sake to the MDR on Allure last month, the bottle is screw cap type.
No cork on bottle = no corkage fee. There is nothing to cork 😉
Seriously, no one care about it or ask anything about it.
And as I'm sure you well know, corkage fees have nothing to do with whether they have to remove a cork or not. It is a fee for bringing your own bottle to the dining room instead of buying an overpriced bottle from their wine list.😁
Also, I didn't think sake was permitted to bring on board, since it's higher in alcohol content (like sherry, for example, which is not allowed.)

Just making sure you know that even if it's over the package limit, that means something very different and much better if you have the premium package! The classic package, it's a hard cutoff, you can either get it or you can't (mostly can't). I always upgrade mine if the ticket came with the classic one - once you upgrade, it's a soft limit, you just pay the difference. Last cruise, I paid $5 for a full pour of $300 a bottle scotch on multiple occasions, no regrets. D
Actually, this changed a few years ago. If you have the Classic package and you order something over $9.00, you pay the difference plus gratuity on the difference (just like it has always been for the premium package.)

Elite Plus benefit for pressing is the same as Elite- two items pressed (per person, per cruise).

thanks so much! one more question....does anyone happen to know if I would have gotten points for a royal Caribbean cruise?
No, but you would have gotten points if you have done any Azamara cruises.

That's the correct HH drink menu for the whole fleet.
And it has been the same since we started cruising in 2013! I really wish they would follow Royal's lead instead of limiting you to 2 hours of not very exciting cocktails and cheap wine.

If it was the June 23 sailing, we were there, too!
We were on the very next cruise (July 7-21) and we heard all about what happened to you. We felt SO bad about it. Can't imagine how disappointed you must all have been. After all, that port is the reason most people take a Baltic cruise!
We booked one of the well-known 2-day tours and were very satisfied with it. Not worth it to get your own visa for just 2 or 3 days (and we did consider it, since we had been there before and my DH speaks Russian). Let's hope the political situation doesn't get so bad that they end up cancelling those Russia sailings!

We were on Anthem last month. It was $13.

We were told that juice is not an option for Diamond, only for Diamond +. Nothing to do with Covid. Water/soda were the only choices (and no Diet Sprite on Anthem, had to settle for Diet Coke). Oh, and the stale cookies.

I thought I heard Diamond members were not being allowed in the Diamond lounge right now. It is for guests who purchase Suites only. Is that true?
We had no trouble getting into the Diamond lounge on Ovation in Sept. I'm expecting the same on Anthem later this month. Are you perhaps thinking of the Suite lounge?

Do they automatically apply "vouchers" to first four drinks of the day or can you tell server whether or not to apply it? I am thinking that I would want to pay for my cappuccinos and save the four free drinks for more expensive cocktails or wine in the evening.
You could get your cappuccinos in the Diamond lounge. That's what we do!

Were the wrist bands the rubber ones or the cloth ones that you can't remove?

We have only been on Royal Caribbean twice, 2 different ships and about 5 years apart. Both times the room attendant left envelopes for extra tips, so clearly it was expected. Do they do this on all Royal Caribbean ships? I have never experienced this on any other cruise line (and I've been on many).

We got one on the Majestic on September 26th cruise to Alaska.
We were on the same cruise and never got one. Did you have to ask for it? Were you in a suite?

We did not get any on the second Majestic Alaska sailing in late July.
And we did not get any on our Majestic Alaska sailing in September. I think that was the first time I didn't get one on a cruise (and I've sailed over 25 cruises on 8 different cruise lines)

Wow that’s awesome. My son, of course, procrastinated and didn’t apply for his passport for our closed loop cruise to Cabo in mid-Dec. but it sounds like he still might get it in time if he applies right away. I’ll let him know. The back up is his birth certificate and driver’s license but I’d feel a lot better if he had his passport.
Can you do a closed loop cruise to another country (Mexico or Caribbean islands) with only a birth certificate and driver's license? What if you had to fly home in an emergency (illness, injury, positive Covid test...)?
Soft serve - ice cream or yogurt on Harmony of the Seas?

I never went to WJ at dinnertime, so I didn't know that. But that still means I have the choice of basic flavors in MDR or at WJ, only at dinner. I might try checking out their flavor of the day... How late do they serve in the WJ?
