I'm on here now and the boat looks amazing! We are very impressed and I usually stay in 4-5 star hotels and have sailed on the newer Carnival and Disney ships. I will be back to update with more details after the cruise.

I have a dry brush I brought with me on the Carnival Sunshine. I didn't get the oil but I can buy it from the spa if I need it.
-
Midori-colada (a pina colada with a midori floater. Swirl it in, it's the best tasting green thing on this planet!)
I'm on the Sunshine now and I'm going to try it!

Vodka.. splash of lemon/lime seltzer and a bunch of fresh strawberry or watermelon chunks :p
This sounds good. What do you call it?
-
Yes, there is. It's next to the Shake Stop. I'm on here now.

Thanks for the review. We will be onboard in ONE MORE DAY!
I've been waiting since October for this cruise some I'm really looking forward to letting the SUNSHINE in!!!!

Listen to the locals. Rent a car. It's an easy drive to/from the airport and port. You will have many, many options to choose from as far as dining and shopping at Sawgrass Mills.

I, for one, am getting some good ideas for men's AND women's fragrances so thanks to all! I am a scent fanatic when it comes to perfume, lotions and body washes. Some of my favorites for summer are by Jo Malone. The one I liked the most was discontinued a year ago.

I can't wait to read about Aruba and Jolly Pirates. We are going in 2 weeks! But we are doing the Sunset Cruise since we dock from 1-10 pm.

Well, darn it, this dress isn't working out. I'd have to wear a strapless bra with it, and the waist is hitting me in a really unflattering area. Boooooo!
So, back to the purple gown, I guess. It's pretty - floor length gown with a purple lace bodice that has some crystals on the lace, and a matching bolero jacket made of the same lace. It coordinates with my husbands kilt nicely. But is a floor length gown overkill on an Alaskan cruise?

I've never been on an Alaskan cruise but I think you'll be fine. What line are you on? I've cruised on Carnival every summer for the past few years and I always pack at least one formal floor-length gown to wear. I like dressing up and use the opportunity to do so on my cruises.

I loved being in a Lido balcony cabin on the Breeze last summer. Very convenient for getting breakfast in the buffet and Guys burgers in the afternoon and eating them on our balcony. And, yes, also super easy access for refilling my "water" bottle when it got low.

There's a fairly new restaurant in the same stretch as Bonefish called Ari Sushi, pretty good sushi and hibachi. There's also a Cheddar's just down the street.
My family and I love Cheddar's! I had NO IDEA and my DD goes to UCF. Good info to know :p

I've been using it for about a week now and have lost 5lbs. I am taking it regularly as I work the night shift. But it does definitely suppress my appetite and curb my desire to just mindlessly snack.
Which brand did you use? There are so many options on Amazon. I don't trust the posters with only 1 post.

I'm also interested in this beach. Anybody have photos to share?

I like some Elf products, others not so much. I see the price has crept up to $6 for some items when everything used to be a $1. Still a good buy for basic makeup items. My DD loves their liquid eyeliner and told me I had to to try the Makeup Mist & Set she bought recently. She said it works well in keeping makeup in place throughout the day.

I booked the same way the OP did, through resortforaday.com. Paid $10/person to hold the reservation and will pay the balance when we arrive at Santa Barbara Resort.

The next hurdle will be when this girl wants to drive.... DMV in any state will want papers showing "legal" guardianship, she won't be able to even get a learners permits much less legal photo ID.... And yes the child was eligible for Social Security? Very odd!
The eligible child will still receive SS benefits as a ward of the court. In fact, they can also receive additional benefits depending on the state.

I just booked this yesterday for our port stop in July. We are very excited! I will come back and update after the cruise.

My kid's father is deceased and I have NEVER been asked for the death certificate on any of our many cruises. I would take it with me, if I was you, just in case.
I'd also pursue legal guardianship after the cruise if that is really something you want to do. Kudos to you for stepping up to the plate and being a mom to your niece!

I love this!

Oops... Wrong thread [emoji15]

The kids are okay .... its some of the adults that I think should not have been taken out of work for a cruise. :D

A spa pass might be a good option what does it come with
A spa pass for the day or week is to allow you entrance to the thermal rooms and heated mineral pool (not all ships have these). It doesn't include any treatments so I don't think that's what you want.
The 3 mini treatments that are combinable for $99 are probably the cheapest deal you're gonna get for a facial or massage. Don't forget the tip, which is another $15-20.

Is it ever an issue to get checked in early? I'd be a little annoyed if we couldn't use the full benefit of having it for the day.
-
I also want to know if they'll let you check into a room early in order to just use the facilities for the day? On their website it says check in is at 4 pm and that is when the ship departs.

I used Avis to get to the port today and I had an awesome experience. May change my reservation with Enterprise and use them when we get back on Sunday.
