  1. As to the single shot at a time, I don't think that is unusual. Your premium package allows for premium quality drink selections, not unlimited quantity per serving.. Per their FAQs, only one drink at a time will be served. One drink would be one shot, if drinking it neat. Although, on occasion DH has requested a double single malt.
  2. As for feeling ripped off; sounds like sour grapes. How about just naming the blogger who has 10 million followers. Because none of the lists of top cruise influencers shows anyone with anything even approaching that number.
  3. How could they sue you? You are an anonymous poster on a social media site. Unless you libel someone, they can't sue you. So name the blogger, since you claim he got a free cruise. We can check his site and see what he reports about the cruise. Although it shouldn't take a Sherlock Holmes to find out which vlogger is currently sailing on the Valiant Lady. As for feeling ripped off; sounds like sour grapes.
  4. Short answer:no. There are hundreds to thousands of cabins of a dozen or more categories on each ship. Multiply by the number of different classes of ships in any given line. Then calculate this for every single line. Then factor in the price variability for every different sailing of every different ship.
  5. The shift in marketing to focus on a younger demographic has certainly brought out the curmudgeons on CC. Fortunately they are less frequently encountered onboard. But not absent, and not new. I recall my daughter telling me about an encounter nearly 20 years ago, when she was in her late 20s. She and her BFF were waiting in a short line to be seated in Blu. An older woman tapped her on the shoulder and in a loud voice told her that this restaurant was only for those in Aqua cabins. DD looked her up and down, paused, and simply replied "I'm aware of that", before turning her back. Guess who first recommended Celebrity to us; it was our daughter, who already had 2 Celebrity cruises under her belt. Celebrity doesn't need to target the senior citizen demographic in their marketing. They already fill the vast majority of their elite and zenith cruisers. But in order to get more cruisers who will (or could, if they find the experience meets their expectations) become loyal, repeat customers, they need to target younger people. It is basic Marketing 101. That doesnt mean they want to turn themselves into another Carnival or RCCL. And I've never found the on board experience to be targeted towards a specific age group. Have a look at the people on the dance floor on any silent disco night. There's everyone from youngsters to Great Grandma. I like the mix of ages. If I didn't, I'd be sailing HAL.
  6. Then what did you mean in post 13?
  7. Are you on the same thread as everyone else? Where did the OP say she was in an Aqua cabin? She only said she had Elite status. Your first reply (post13) said water was delivered to Elite cabins. That is patently false. Post 21 was also questioning your conflating Aqua class with Elite loyalty status.
  8. Where exactly on that site can one find Cruise ship reviews?. I could not see a Cruise section in their Travel and Vacation category
  9. But that is Aqua class. That has nothing, repeat NOTHING to do with having Elite loyalty status.
  10. That's great. And do you never set your phone down? Are there only your "germs" on that surface? And do you sanitize your hands, which have touched heaven only knows what, before touching your phone? Just saying.
  11. I agree with donaldsc's suggestion of a Rome to Athens cruise (or vice versa) rather than a RT Rome cruise. Gives you different opportunities at either end of the cruise. Especially if you are going to limit yourself to only a couple of days before and after.
  12. I imagine that an itemized breakdown of time in each place visited on an excursion is too fraught to be meaningful. Any traffic disruption could upset the schedule. Every thoughtless tour member who arrives 15 minutes late at the bus has a downline effect that can multiply at each stop. A stop at a spot that is overcrowded may force more delays. And these occurrences are far too common with large groups.
  13. You've received some excellent advice. If you find that you want to cruise during times that are popular with families, then choose an adults only ship.
  14. They're still there. But the hot topics now seem to cluster around lower quality meals in the dining rooms, high prices, new extra charges, and reduction in loyalty perks.
  15. For longer trips we use the Valet parking. We can usually find discounts, especially with CAA.. But for shorter trips we sometimes use the stay and park at the Hilton. But if we owned a higher end vehicle that are known targets of car thieves, we would look for other options. Fortunately, thieves don't seem to be interested in old Volvos. Our neighbor had his brand new Lexus stolen from his hotel long term parking lot.
  16. Meh. That sample size was so small it would be premature to draw any firm conclusions without repeated large sample trials. And in the field study, many of the participants were children. How many of those wash their hands thoroughly or properly?. Just wash and rinse your hands properly, and if you're that concerned, follow up with a shot of sanitizer.
  17. Depends on the port, and depends on the excursion. Sometimes we only get off for an hour or 2 to walk around the port area or don't bother getting off at all ( some really boring Caribbean port stops). For these, we would have lunch on board. Sometimes we are on a longer excursion that includes lunch. If we are in port all day on our own, we will find a place for lunch. Of course we eat food on land. We just do due diligence to know when not to eat raw foods. And we only drink bottled/canned water, juices, or sodas. Alcoholic drinks - no ice.
  18. Since I live 1,982 km away from Churchill, that would be a no.
  19. Relax, you'll be fine. https://www.frommers.com/blogs/arthur-frommer-online/blog_posts/no-cruise-ships-are-not-banned-from-amsterdam?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2023-08-01 Editorial Mailing&utm_content=2023-08-01 Editorial Mailing+CID_0aeb876fdeace7f28a7e1daf16306338&utm_source=Newsletter&utm_term=No Cruise Ships Are Not Banned from Amsterdam Heres Whats Going On
  20. After reading the OPs posts on this thread, I really doubt he would know an influencer if he bumped into one taking selfies in the buffet line.
  21. Won't be wasting your money on what? Cruising? Because all cruise lines have marketing departments. And all cruise lines have different people reviewing them.
  22. Celebrity has targetted a younger demographic for a few years now, so I'm not sure why this would come as a surprise.
