You saw my video in this thread where I crossed like train tracks and went up the road that said no pedestrians to the port? That was right by julia station. I would just walk up that road to the port. But if you want you can go back over the tracks where I came from and go up the elevator or escalator, go around the outside of the mall and down the big staircase. This shows the path I took in the video.

Shore excursioneer dot com is who I have used three times for dune buggy tours in Cozumel. The first two times we had the same guide, Roger. He was great. We have requested him for our third in 19 days!:D

I've used them twice in the past and will be using them again in 19 days for the dune buggy tour. We enjoyed the first two and look forward to the third.

Saint Greg,
If we are arriving by the streetcar at Julia Station do we try to find the escalator on our right or is there a way in on the left of getting off the streetcar? TIA

Went to Paradise beach twice. Great with the kids. Lots of blow up water toys. Then we found Dune Buggy excursion. We book through shore excursions dot. We've used them twice (both with the same guide, Roger). You snorkel, have lunch, visit Punta Sur lighthouse, see the wild side of shore, and visited Hacienda Antigua for tequila tasting/buying (love the blue tequila "Love Potion" it's citrus). We have booked them again in February and are hoping to get Roger again :D. You do have to have a driver that knows how to drive a standard (yup, I drive) and are not expecting anything fancy (old VW bug with the roof cut off). The last time we have all the girls with me and my husband drove all the boys. They also offer cold drinks during the tour. Our boys (16-17) enjoyed having a beer while their dad/uncle drove.

I too am interested in the answer.

Anyone know the cost of Progreso open air bus? It used to be $2 pp

My family and I sailed on Triumph in the past and thought the crew was one of the best we've had. We wanted to return to Progreso, so we are going again in February.

I've done both and my vote is Mexico (actually will be going out of New Orleans):D

That was the best review I have ever read! I have no plans to go on the Miracle or sail out of CA but your review kept me reading all the way to the end. I had to find out how the story ended!

I have done this excursion twice before and doing it again in February. cozumel cruise excursions dot com was the company we used. We had the same fantastic guide both times. Ask for Roger. We snorkeled, had lunch, toured the state park which has a lighthouse and visited Hacienda Antigua for tequila tasting (the blue tequila is really good). Yes, the dune buggies are old manual vw bugs but that's the fun.

There is an open air market with LOTS of things to purchase. From knockoff handbags to vanilla. The farther back you walk the better the deals. Yes, you can haggle with these vendors. We are always on Carnival ships, so it's diagonal to the left outside the port, across the street.

The elevator down to the terminal is not applicable to Carnival cruises...which are most of the cruises out of New Orleans.

Saint Greg, if it's not applicable to Carnival, please help! We will be coming in on the trolley (streetcar).

Wow, husband and I have been on 9 Carnival cruises (many to Mexico) and never had any problems. Husband had two DUI's in his youth.

Yup, Keith Nale from 2014 survivor. I saw him near the grand staircase and thought he looked familiar. Then saw him up on deck and went up and introduced myself. He came over and took pictures with my family. I'm a huge survivor fan.

One week to go and we'll be out of the 10" of snow we had today and into the sun!
-
Hey Castro, my group of 6 will also be there Feb. 23. Will miss seeing you but look forward to your beach!
-
Let me know if you get a hold of him. I sent a fb message months ago and have not heard anything.

Hey Tinkerbell, I'll be on the Fascination too! Other posts have noted that you can drop your luggage with the porters anytime and then go explore. As for the check in time, when we used it in Galveston we couldn't check in prior to our time but could anytime after.

Woke up this morning to number 4 in my inbox!
Yup, me too. What the heck is going on?

I logged in and picked our slot upon receiving the email. However they keep sending the same email. I have received it three days in a row now. Is this happening to anyone else?
Yup, 3 days in a row. Exact same PDF. I always get a little anxious when you see urgent. :)

I've gotten the same e-mail 4 times in the last week.

You can pick your time slot, but spaces are limited so if the time you want isn't available you have to arrive later. Plus, check in used to start around 11:30am in San. Juan and now the earliest time offered is 1pm...unless you get FTTF or are Platinum, then you can board whenever you want. From my understanding, the FTTF and Plats can board even earlier then 1pm. So now it is a real perk to have FTTF if you needed or wanted to Checkin earlier. Does that make sense?
Before, FTTF didn't make sense in San Juan because there was rarely a line to check in no matter what time your arrived. Now it makes sense cause it gets you on the boat before 1pm (assuming you prefer that which I do). We do not have FTTF but we did get the 1pm slot so that will work...still on board in time for lunch :)
Thanks, Sue. That is exactly what I meant. I am quite aware the staggered check-in is being rolled out as I had it a year ago on my last cruise. I was just being helpful in letting people know to check their boarding so they can get the time the want.
Somebody call AAA!

Please say it ain't so! We are one her in 15 days. I don't care if she breaks down while I'm on her (hey, I've camped in the rough before;p). I just really, really, need a cruise. (Yes, I do have trip insurance but I need sunshine!)
