Hate to say this, but the daybeds are not worth the exorbitant cost. Beach chairs and umbrellas are free all around the island. FYI - South Beach is a quieter part of Coco Cay than Chill Island.

I’ve been to Cococay many times and always get the bed. It’s definitely worth it, especially if you have kids. We always share with another couple and the kids don’t factor into the 4 people rule.

    - guaranteed spot

    - Service

    - Full shade as needed

    - The bed

    - two loungers

    - 2 mats

    - a cooler full of water

for $200 it’s defiantly worth it. Hardly “exorbitant” - have you seen the cost of the cabanas?

Most of you are doing the right thing in monitoring your kids and we all appreciate that.  It is unfortunate that so many have not taught their children (regardless of age) to be respectful and not run up and down the the cabin decks.

My kids are very respectful and do as they are told. Guess who told them to run up and down the hallways right outside your cabin….🙄

My kids (11 & 13) have been cruising since they were in diapers and we now encourage them to get out and explore the ship on their own. Last cruise we started this, They were gone for an hour and a half and they came back with 21 cruising ducks!

Overall, you need to be comfortable with it and they need to be comfortable with it. My kids now have their own phones and when we board Oasis in December they will be using the app as well.

Ooma was our concierge the week of Christmas but she unfortunately contracted Covid and I’m not sure she has returned to the position of Suite Concierge. She was amazing for the short time we had her.

Yes, we had her the week prior and she handled our B2B. We went and saw her on the first day, on the Xmas cruise, and then she let us know , via email, that she got the virus.

I suspect she’s back as she like to put it “ this is my ship”. Lol

  4. In December, our Suite Concierge was Ooma Gawardun. She is amazing. We did a B2B but our second week wasn’t in a suite and she went ahead and booked all the shows and activities for us anyways. That is just one example, she went above and beyond in every manner.

    Shows: (in December)

Showgirls (one of the best shows I’ve seen and I’m very picky)

    Tap Factory

    Effectors

    The Book: Seven Chapters

    Comedians

    Journey Tribute

To use the Starbucks APP, do you need internet access? Or will it work in airplane mode?

Or can I just simplify the process and use a gift card? (asking for my 80 year old mom who loves her Starbucks)

As long as you have $$ on your card, then it will work. It’s really just a glorified barcode.

And yes, to make things easier, just go to a Starbucks and load up a gift card. Works just the same.

Ok, that’s what you’ve seen or that’s what you want??

That’s what I know is coming. I’m sure there is deals for specific things like drink packages and such, but they never pre announce that to TA’s

edit: This may be in Canadian funds, just an fyi.

  7. I’ve done a few bids for my upcoming cruise but just noticed a 2 bedroom GS has opened up. Unfortunately I seemed to have deleted my RoyalUp booking link.

I tried going to the site and entering my details but it just brought up my present bids. There doesn’t appear to be spot to bid on other rooms.

is there anyone I could call to resend the link?

  8. If you can get some sort of help from the TA, you should just put your husband in your daughters room now and put Fake Sue in your room. (I mean on the bookings). There will be no hassle while checking in when Sue doesn’t show. When you get on board, just go to Guest Services and have them switch your husband back to your room.

We have done this a few times without problems.

  9. Just an FYI. i talked to my Strategic account manager for Royal about this topic and she has given me another pretty good thing about the kids vaccinations.

if your child is under 12 and is double vaccinated but fully vaccinated during your cruise, as long as you contact tRoyal. Then they can make arrangements with your ship to have your child’s status updated during your cruise.

  10. NRD is Non Refundable Deposit.

it sounds like a screw up by your TA in the type of promotion that was being applied.

But If you had an invoice with the lower amount and it’s changed then it sounds like your Booking was most likely cancelled and rebooked. (By accident or not, I can’t tell you.)  I can confirm that once a booking is made, then that price is locked unless a change is made by repricing. No one reprices to a higher charge.

I’m sorry but something is pretty shady.

There is ZERO possibility of that.  First of all, it was the FDA advisory panel, not the CDC. Second, it has to be approved by the FDA itself, which might take days or longer. Third, the pediatric doses need to be distributed.  Even IF someone lucks out and that all happens fast, the first dose might be next Monday (November 1st), dose two would be three weeks later (November 28th) and immunity would be declared two weeks after that (December 12th).

Not to mention, the dose still won't be "approved", but will rather be permitted under "emergency use authorization".  So you're not going to see it mandated at all.

Just a quick note, based on your timeline, 3 weeks (21 days) would be Nov 21st not the 28th. On your timeline the earliest cruise would be Dec 5th.

I only bring this up, as my family cruise is on the Dec 12th and I’m watching everyday so I can get my 10year old Vaccinated in time. I know that her dday would be the November 7th to get on the ship fully vaccinated.

(fortunately we’re going on a back to back and no matter what she’ll be vaccinated for the second leg)
