Would anyone say this class of ship was “too large” for a child of that age (3-6yrs)? IE too much walking from one area to another for different activities?

my kids have been on Allure 3 times and Symphony once.  They started on this class at 3 and 5.  In no way are they too large, and if they are then all that running can cause them to pass out early at night and mom & dad can "relax" 😉

lol, seriously though, these Ships are perfect for kids as there is SO MUCH to do, for them.

I wonder if they're heading to Port Klang to park-up off shore for the next 2 weeks or if this is actually in readiness to start cruising out of here and thus avoid Singapore.

We are currently booked on Quantum out of Singapore 4 Apr 2020 so watching events very closely.

I hate to say it and I know it's hard to do, since your 2 month out but I would be begin looking elsewhere. You don't know exactly what Royal will do, but most likely your going to get a refund if you don't like any other options they give you.

I don't nec mean book, but look for other destinations and then once Royal presents something, you can give them your alternative.

(this is what most of my clients are doing/have done)

  3. We were there in December with our kids and other friends and family. Because of the cost, we skipped the waterpark and went with a Southbeach daybed. ($200 total) It does say only for 4 but I split it with a buddy of mine and between us we had 4 adults and 3 kids. When we showed up, they said as long is was no more than 4 adults then we were good - so the kids were no problem.

Got the daybed which comes with server (about every 20-30 mins), 2 lounge chairs, cooler with water (always stocked), and 2 of those floaty mats.

That was a great day at the beach, to say the least. Kids were disappointed not to go to the park for about 30 seconds and then had an incredible time. If we were impatient with the server, the bar was 50 steps away and the food was 100 steps behind us. The bonus was that the beach was not busy and pretty quiet.

To top it off, we had other friends of ours stop by and park with us for lengths of time without any hassle.

Next time we go with friends, we will book multiples of these and try to get them side by side. much better value than the Cabana's.

  4. Just did Symphony with another couple who we sail with constantly. We love Chops, BUT this was the first time that we were absolutely disappointed. My wife commented that my steak is much better. Again, we love Chops but not this time.

We also did Wonderland. Which, IMO, was incredible, BUT it is all about the experience and not really the food.

I really, really recommend 150. This, by far, has the best food on board. I've done all the restaurants minus CK. Get a main and then share the Tenderloin. Best decision we made!

I am currently on Voyager and the staff have been told they are heading to LA in 2021.

Yes, I didn't know which boat but during a conference with Royal, they had said they were returning to LA and trying to lock down a date to either fall of 2020 or beginning of 2021.

Interesting that its a Vision class. Was hoping it would be a Freedom class or at least back to a Voyager class.

  6. Man, I've never had any one guest or staff member question me about my diamond drinks and how i order them. I always have the package and then at happy hour I use my Diamond drinks basically to buy a round for the people i'm with. My wife doesn't drink, so I use hers as well. It's nice to order more than one drink at a time....

  7. I can definitely confirm that:

You can use either the card or the app.

    You will still get stars.

BUT you cannot use your stars on board.

being from Canada, when i know I'm going to the US, I always build up stars to use. Save a bunch of $$ doing so. First time on Allure I tried to use them and was told the above rules. Every trip since, I've reconfirmed those rules.

  8. ok, as an avid cruiser, i do abide by the rules but when they brought back everyone has to pay, i was unhappy, as my DW hardly has a sip. Since then I have bought the refreshment package and just upgraded it on board, at any bar. They have not once asked about my DW. I have never inquired if this was illegal or not but until i'm told, on board, otherwise then I will continue this practice. I don't share the package with her and she has bought drinks on board with no consequence.

take this for what it's worth.
