  1. JetBlue - you have done an amazing job through this ‘’ major interruption “ to what you  & David expected for your Crossing & your trip. We agree with many - you should have had a balcony cabin . Celebrity has always done the best in so many ways - what really happened here? . All of us on cruise critic obviously love our cruises & all of the planning that goes into them. We come home and count the days till the next one! Hopefully you have another cruise in the very near future.

May you both be well soon! Sail on in good health!

While there are reports of improved supply of Pavloxid, it seems to be used primarily for people at high risk. That may change; but there are drug interactions and side effects concerning the liver and kidneys requiring more of your medical history and more monitoring by a doctor, which may explain why it is not offered on cruise ships.

Thanks for the Pavloxid info. I was not aware. Hopefully there will be something more readily available in the near future that we can bring with us - just in case & particularly on the longer cruises like this one. JetBlue’s experience is an eye opener!

We have been on Edge four times and Apex once. The last couple times we were in a suite but still visited the MDR. We like Normandie. The Gruyere tart and Rack of Pork are wonderful. I highly recommend lunch at Le Grand Bistro ($20pp). Worth every penny and they gave us a box of assorted bread and pastry for a "late night" snack!

The 4 dining room idea is so much better than the huge dining rooms on other ships.

We are still here in CT much of the time because the kids/grandkids/cats are here ! Trying to spend a little more time in FL since we retired.

You obviously enjoy the Edge class!   The suites are not in our price range, but we booked a sunset veranda for our Beyond sailing in November. Really looking forward to it. Hopefully there will be great music as we really enjoy dancing!!

Thanks again for all of your input!

Not sure how helpful this is but here is a link to all of the menus used on the Edge. Apex is the same. The only one that I know is not current is Eden. Apex has always had a different Eden menu and the Edge recently changed to the Apex Eden menu. Should give you an idea, although its not delineated by day. But its fun to look at !!

Mac_tlc - thank you so very much!  This was extremely helpful & yes fun to look at. Finally I've been able to give my husband and understanding of how the dining works on the "E" class ships!

Curious - do you have a room that you prefer? I assume you are or have been on the Apex?

Regards from a former Tarrytown couple! We were neighbors!

If you go into the app, go into your profile. Below your cruise or cruises, and click select a different sailing. Then pick Apex from the list of ships, and this week. You can then go to dining, pull up the four restaurants, and look at the menus for each night. The menus are generally the same in all four restaurants, but there are like 6-7 items that are specific to each restaurant. A few apps, some entrees, and a dessert for each.

Many thanks for answering our questions. Enjoy!

Thanks much - unfortunately they are not there yet .

  7. Thanks for taking us along ! hope you, your wife & son have a great cruise! We were on the Reflection 2 weeks ago & the Apex was docked next to us in Cozumel. She really looks beautiful!!!

Yes, very curious about your view on the infinite verandas. DH & I will be on the Beyond end of Nov- our first E class. We booked the sunset veranda.

I would love to know if there is anywhere to find the menus for the 4 restaurants? I may contact the Captains Club? We have select dining but enjoy having the same wait staff each night of the cruise.  With the tables for 2, how is the table spacing in each of the 4 restaurants?

    Many thanks & enjoy!

We just got off Rotterdam this morning (and have been on her 2 other separate weeks starting in Feb) and can tell you there is no dance band.  But, these were all 7 day cruises and not sure what yours is.  In this Ocean Bar, there really is no place for a band to be.  One end of it (a wall divides it in half) has a raised dias with a piano on it that we never saw anyone at.

    Linda R.

Linda, Thank you very much for clarifying. The cruise we are considering is 7 nights. It’s unfortunate about there not being a dance band. In every other way i am sure we would enjoy the Rotterdam. Hope you had another great cruise! Funny , DH & I were on the Celebrity Reflection last week & the Rotterdam was anchored next to us in Grand Cayman!

The Koningsdam Hawaii cruise in January and the Rotterdam inaugural transatlantic cruise last October both had a small band in the Ocean Bar playing before dinner for 60-90 minutes. they were very good.

Thanks much - now this is encouraging. Hopefully they will continue with the band before dinner !

The problem is that BB king and Rolling stone have bands that overlap each other, the BB King band can play R&R, R & B, and the Rolling stone band can play R&B, Blues and R&R. The one that's missing is the Ocean bar type band that can play all the dance classics.

Thank you- pretty much what I thought. Was really hoping to hear that they brought back the Ocean Bar band with the dance classics. We really enjoyed having that, especially pre-dinner. Sounds like now there is no pre dinner dance music??

  11. Hello fellow cruisers,

We have sailed on the NA & NS and always enjoyed BB King. We are not particularly fans of some of the other offerings on the Music Walk. Considering the Rotterdam for next March & wonder if HAL has added any pre dinner music like they had several years ago in the Ocean Bar? We enjoy dancing & would like to know what our options are other than BB king. If anyone has any of the dailies, particularly with the music schedule, and can post it would be greatly appreciated.

    in advance many thanks!

The Captain was Michael Karatzas. As I mentioned, he really was around the ship, which was nice.

    Sat was one 9pm show.

Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, and Fri was 7 & 9pm.

I think someone else answered why Bimini was canceled (port closed because of wind).

Was really a fun cruise. Happy to see our dog, but reality is not as much as a cruise.

    Many thanks for the info!

TLDR: Great cruise, 30% full, staff outstanding, food quite good, some wine/alcohol on Prem Package not available

The longer story. This is our 10th (maybe more) cruise on Celebrity. We (my wife and I) had a 2C balcony and bid $155/pp for the AquaClass upgrade and got it. Had the upgraded room swapped for 1601. GREAT room! On Reflection, this is the large hump balcony, nicely shaded, and below other cabins. It is steps from the central elevator. Our room steward (Dimas) we nicknamed the "magic man" because he always seemed to have the room cleaned up. We had the no-longer-available Drinks & More package, and he kept our fridge stocked (Tito's, wine, beer, soda, Kind bars).

The Persian Gardens were visited almost every morning for a few hours. Very relaxing, and allowed the toxins (that somehow invaded our bodies through alcohol) to fade away. Blu was quite nice, with superb waiters (Roel & Dominic). Menu was nice, and when we didn't find something thrilling on the menu, we found something nice on the MDR menu. They even made me a chocolate lava cake on an unscheduled night because I mentioned how much I enjoyed it.

The senior staff was very visible - coming to Captain's Club events, walking around the ship, spending time with passengers.

We generally went to the World Class Bar, and Ando was our favorite bartender. He was funny and very conscientious about making the perfect drink. He (like many other staff members) were all over the ship filling in at other locations.

We did have Bimini canceled. We also went to Jamaica (Falmouth) and Mexico (Cozumel). We stepped off the ship for about 8 minutes, then returned.

The one down side, and <step on soapbox> I think we all need to accept it graciously <step down from soapbox> is that some of the alcohol that was "promised" on the premium package was not on the ship. This include multiple missing wines (including Decoy and Conundrum), lots of missing bourbons and scotches, no alcoholic seltzers, very few ciders, no coconut water, no Arizona Iced teas, etc.

Oh, and whoever thought water in a metal bottle was a good idea should really be questioned. Then again, having Pellegrino (sp?) and Evian in heavy glass bottles, which I'm really not sure get recycled, isn't much better...

Really a fun trip and met some really fun Canadians who made us laugh.

Looking forward to another cruise in June.

I do have the dailies if someone has a question about them. I really don't think posting all of them is needed.

    Peace out!

Thank you for the review. Glad you had a great cruise & can look forward to your June cruise!

We sail on Saturday & can’t wait to sail the Reflection again! Given the ship was at 30% was there just one show - at 9pm ?

    is Captain Nikolas Christodoulakis back??

    Thank you!

i am having a hard time coming up with new ways to praise the workers on this cruise. They are simply wonderful and I cannot say enough good things about them.  They deserve all the credit they can get.  As I said in the survey last night, it is the crew and staff of a ship that make the difference between a good cruise and a bad cruise and the crew and Staff on Reflection continues to make our cruise wonderful.

I passed along your greetings to Ali.  He seems a very wonderful person.  Unfortunately, I had to disappoint in by not bring able to sit and have a drink as we were on our way to Luminae for dinner.

Agree with you 100% - the crew & staff make the difference between a not so great or truly memorable cruise. The Reflection for us & obviously for you is very special .  We spoke with a couple the last night of our cruise & said there is not way to relate to others at home how memorable the sailing was & the feelings we went home with. You had to live it!

Thank you so much for stopping by to give our regards to Ali. It meant a lot to us!

Enjoy the balance of the week !

Safe travels & Happy Holidays to all with lots of cruising in the days & years ahead!

My experience is that the comments are shared with the crew.  As you may recall, I submitted comments twice during the last cruise and also post cruise.  Not only have crew members thanked me but the Cruise Director also expressed his thanks.  The Captain also mentioned knowing what a wonderful cruise we were having based on our comments.

I am planning to write up comments again tonight where I will call our specific crew members. I love being able to give near instant feedback on positive experiences through the online forms.

have not been to the Passport Bar but will stop there on the wsy to Luminae for dinner and if Ali is there will extend your well wishes.

It is amazing that in addition to this wonderful post, you are taking your time onboard to summit your comments and also recognize individual crew members. I did it as well, but was not as specific until the survey. Bless You!

Hope you enjoyed your evening & thank you for offering to pass by the Passport Bar. I am hoping Ali was there. He is truly a wonderful young man. If you end up at the bar in the Ocean View Cafe again  in the morning, he is often there as well.  Enjoy!

The Captain just reported one individual has been confirmed to have COVID and has been isolated and contract tracing has been completed.  The individual apparent self reported himself as not feeling well and therefore was tested.

The person will be disembarked and flown home from Saint Martin day after tomorrow.

I think Celebrity has been very transparent & done a fine job dealing with the few positive cases.

DaKahuna, thanks so much for taking us along on your B2B. DH & I were on the Nov 27th sailing & are still having Reflection withdrawal!

May I ask a favor- if you are around the Passport Bar. Please say hello to Ali from Tom & Paula. We miss him! Sent him a photo through the Celebrity Engagement Center ( hope they get it to him) & some well deserved comments on the survey. Hope Celebrity shares  the comments with the crew - they work so very hard & are providing amazing service & show such appreciation.

Hope the officers & crew came through the Grand Foyer on your sailing last week! What a touching experience.

Enjoy every moment of your cruise & thanks again!
