  1. If you like to spend your evenings with a three course meal and a show, then no, you probably wouldn't have much time use it. If you're ok with grabbing a quick bite at O'Sheehan's or the buffet and spending an hour or two in the Thermal Suite, then yes, it will probably be of great value to you. When I did my Epic cruise in the Med, I loved sitting on the Thermal Suite balcony as we left ports. The hydro pools and sauna were perfect for my sore legs after a day of walking.
  2. I could be wrong, but I thought you could cancel within 48 hours if you do it on the day you board.
  3. In my experience, they usually have one game on for each of the timeslots. Those decisions are made in Miami and broadcast out to all of the ships, so the people on the ship can't change to another game at anyone's request. It should be in the daily what games they are showing and where.
  4. This! I feel like I miss out on all the fun stuff at night because I just cannot stay up that late. I would definitely go dancing at 8:30pm.
  5. I've been on the Epic twice, both out of Barcelona and San Juan. I don't think it's any better or worse than any other cruise ship I've been on. I completely agree with the above posts that the Med itinerary is so port intensive, all you end up doing back on the ship is eating and sleeping anyway. My two favorite parts of the ship were the sundeck on 18 at the front of the ship and the Thermal Suite. Both are quiet and relaxing. The sundeck on 18 is quiet, has amazing views, padded loungers, and even servers on sea days. The Thermal Suite was so nice to help recover after the long days of walking around tourist sites.
  6. I stayed in 8712 (same room but starboard side) on a cruise over New Years, and to be honest, the huge balcony was great but it was so windy, I really couldn't use it. Even when I could use it, I was always smelling smoke. I believe the crew smoke area is at the front of deck 8. Also, the walk to those rooms is really long. Enjoy your upgrade and your central location!
  7. Sorry to dredge up a post that's a couple of months old, but has anyone had any luck with the cruises advertised with a Solo Cruise Discount? I have been trying all afternoon to speak with someone in resolutions, but keep getting "disconnected". The cruise I'm looking at comes up in the search using the Solo Cruiser Discount and includes the icons both on the cruise itself and the specific room type I'm looking at. However, the price is the same whether I have 1 Guest or 2 Guests selected (with the exception of taxes/fees and free at sea gratuities). Has anyone had any luck actually getting one of these "less than 200%" discounts?
  8. I first submitted the customer service form to NCL to request my refund and heard back about 30 days later with them telling me to submit the request to insurance - which I bought through NCL, but is with AON. I filled out their form and submitted the document from the ship doctor stating my positive status and the date. The forms were a little confusing, but the AON people were very helpful on the phone. Once I got the letter from AON declining my claim because the NCL Essentials insurance doesn't cover trip interruption, I sent NCL the letter declining the claim and they provided the refund within a few days. The whole process took almost 3 months.
  9. I was refunded for the days I was in isolation, so just a partial refund. It went back to the credit card with which I paid for the cruise. I'm not sure if FCC was an option. I was very clear on the form you linked above and in my subsequent emails I wanted a refund.
  10. My experience was being moved to another balcony. I had the NCL Essentials insurance, which doesn't cover trip interruption, but NCL had me go through AON anyway. Once I got the denial, they refunded me for the days I was in isolation. This was back in January. Not sure if they've changed anything since then.
