  1. We are in a similar situation albeit sailing on rccl liberty of the seas in feb 2017...I say similar because we live in Burnaby! We are flying air canada direct to iah the day before. Staying at the Hilton Galveston on points. Return flights were tricky as the direct flight was super expensive and the other options were short layovers (less than 1 hr) in various US hubs where you just know that you might miss your connection (and luggage surely to miss the connection!). I felt anything before 2 pm was pushing it as its 3 hr checkin for international flights (not 2 hr) and I hate to be rushed and stressed on the last day of vacation! From what I gather it's a 2 hr drive, plus 1-2 hr to get off and thru customs. In the end we booked IAH to YVR via Seattle ( 2.5 hr layover) leaving at 5:45 from Houston.

2 pm flight...arrive IAH no layer than 12...in shuttle no later than 10...I feel you need to be up and among the first off the ship.

  2. We are on Liberty feb 2017. We have a late flight out of IAH so we would like to linger on the ship and let the self assist people and crowds go first. When does the MDR open/close for breakfast?. If we left the ship 8:30 or 9, when should I book the shuttle-? We are not US citizens if that means a longer customs line...thanks.

  3. I want to make a reservation at Chops on Liberty for 3 adults....not sure if the child in the party will want to come versus going to Adventure Ocean at 7 pm and letting us eat in peace! If I make the res for 3 people and it turns out to be for 4 is that a huge issue?... seeing as how 3 adults are always put at a table for 4 people anyway...?

  4. There is a youtube of 7364 starboard side with the head of the bed on the right side as you enter, so if they alternate then 7368 will be the same. My brother is in 7368 but I am next door in 7370...

For you on the port side, assuming it is the same as starboard, 7664 and 7668 would have the head of the bed on the left as you enter, and IF they alternate, 7670 is opposite. Hmmm...hope someone can confirm!!

  5. How does the sofa bed pull out in this cabin? Would you be sleeping in the same direction as the people in the other normal bed or would you be sideways (couch looks long).? Are they really hard?

Is the couch always by the bathroom in these cabins? Can you get by the pulled out sofa bed to get to the bathroom?

    Thanks!

  6. Questions:

Do you have to wear close toed shoes on the zip line?

What do you do with your bag while on the zip line?

How much do the photos cost?

    Thanks!

  7. Just awake here in BC to find your first few scopes waiting for me to view! So nice! B2B ...so jelous! I will be watching over the next 2 weeks as I was/am seriously considering this cruise for march spring break 2017..bc has a two week spring break :-). Just have to figure out the airfare as we have to add $500 each to get to Toronto first before heading south. My son will be in grade 3 as well next year so I am interested in how he likes it/kids club etc. Did u get a drink package?

  8. You sign for every drink as if you were paying, but it will never show on your account. If it does show up, there is a problem. Last week on the Jewel I was charged for a soda and noticed while reviewing my account that night using the iconcierge app. A trip to guest services and it was removed (2 days later).

App is great. Charges show up immediately.

  9.

As far as the kids program, we all know Nickelodeon is going away but wondering if the activities will be the same without the Nick name/Characters on everything.

    -Sean

The Nickelodeon program is completely separate from the Splash Academy youth clubs, with different staff. Nick events were in public areas around the ship at advertised times and if your child wanted to attend, the parent had to sign them out of the youth club and accompany them to, and stay with them, at the Nickelodeon events.

Apart from one unscheduled and unadvertised visitfrom Sponge Bob to the youth club one afternoon, the events and activities are separate and not Nickelodeon themed. Youth club was great, safe, and they ( 6-9 yr olds at least) had pj parties, carnival night, hollywood night, pirate night, games, arts and crafts.

  10. More about the taxi, aka pulmonia…which I didn’t get a DECENT photo of, sorry! The open air ride cost $15 each way and was a fun change from the usual air conditioned cab experience. On the way over, our driver had an amazing stereo system and rocked some fun tunes, like Neil Diamond at high volumes. We loved it!

This shot sort of shows what it looks like from inside the pulmonia:

At the resort, margaritas and Pina coladas were tasty, and the pool was refreshingly chilly.

We enjoyed the resort so much and unlike our visit in August, iguanas were EVERYWHERE. We fed iguanas lettuce provided by the servers.

Great info about the resort! Maybe we will do that next time. We went to old town and checked out the market.
