it was automatic for my first Celebrity cruise.....it gave me select status based on being platinum with Royal.....although I do believe that my TA did something for me behind the scenes.
-
Lol...it was defn cause of spring breakers...
Normally it is not all T&A I can assure you...lol
-
I believe we were told 250lbs when we asked, but that was a few years ago.
-
Anyone else concerned about the CAD free fall the past cpl months.....down over 6%.....which make a difference for booking cruises.
We will be getting back to close to 1.4 exchange rates which is defn going to make myself have to either cut back or look for amazing deals.....
-
Royal doesn't cut solo's many breaks..I know its defn been more than 200% when I have looked to book before even though that's what they "say" the solo rate is..
at that rate I would defn be bringing a non-showing up at the pier guest.......crazy

with Uber now available all around FLL and MIA...you can really stay anywhere for a good deal and just take an Uber.....
-
I haven't been on her out of Miami but 4 times out of PC.....it was hit or miss. I always did the 4day cruise....some times the nightclub was hopping till 2 or 3am and other nites there wasn't one person on the dance floor all night.
August should be a good time of year I would think at least and nothing creates a crowd like a crowd so you will prob do ok as you will app be in part mode.
-
Yup..no questions asked..Uber/Lyft is the way to go now....easy to use out of FLL..used it to get over to Port of Miami and was 1/3 the cost!
I used to either use taxi and/or hired cars but no longer based on the huge cost savings!
-
That is the norm for the Royal beds in my experience...they are quite big though....
-
As stated above...usually 1-1:30ish on average. Don't count on it. Also, keep in mind that luggage may not be there till later in the afternoon even if stateroom is open for you.

Paranoid haters everywhere. Just wanted to find out about smoking in the casino because I bring cash to gamble that way I don't charge it to my account. Some ships have gone smoke free in the casinos and some have smoke free tables. Now I know I don't need to bring much. Take a breath of fresh air and be happy you can.
Sounds like somehow your implying that cause you bring cash so you don't have to charge it to your account that it makes a difference?
I don't see at all how that pertains to smoking in the casino.....who cares if you bring cash or use your account....nothing to do with smoking.
I am pretty sure that the casino's all have a non-smoking section.....they often have a smoke free night during the cruise and I don't remember people sitting at tables smoking....just the slots. But I don't play the tables so don't quote me on that. And the smokers certainly don't make it unbearable for non-smokers as there are WAY more people NOT smoking in the casino than smoking.
I have asthma too and take puffers every day...smoke in the casino doesn't bother me so to each their own.
Sounds like you already knew the answer before you asked to be honest.

I have been there about 8x in the past 4 years....day and nighttime while docked. Always walk to Junkanoo beach, Fishfry.....around the shops downtown.....visited Club Bambu one time when we were docked overnight..no issues at all, no scares, no need to feel uncomfortable.
if you feel uncomfortable walking down the street in Nassau, you need to travel more. I can assure you my experiences in Jamaica have been much worse!
-
I guess I will be saving a lot of money by staying out of the casino then. So ridiculous that they can't prohibit smoking inside altogether.
Guess you will save alot of money then....that's not a bad thing right?!..everyone likes to save money....lol.
Sounds more like this is about being bitter about a cpl smoking areas than anything else.
"Because smokers just sit there and don't gamble"......
You can enjoy your cruise and avoid asthma problems no problem on the cruise, its a large ship...99% of it is smoke free...so maybe you cant gamble for a cpl days...but you can gamble for the other 360 days of the year in casino's all over the US that are smoke free....
As mentioned above, those are the current smoking areas so I defn advise you don't try to spend any time in the connoisseur Club!
-
has happened to me this morning...as well as a cpl times in the past....its annoying..not sure why
-
I was at the port at 9:35 for my cruise in January with no issues to get in using a Uber.....was great to experience NO line ups at any point of the embarkation for a change......
-
Looks good!...I cant wait to try the waterslides will be fun..and the bamboo room looks like a cool place to hang out!....Excited for these changes! :)

I don't recall a Mariner dry dock last year.
I don't either Bob...but I know a cpl travel sites I visited indicated last refurbished date of 2017, so that's why I was wondering. Also, thought I saw some pics of cabins on her that defn looked like it had been renovated, but I could be wrong.
I just would love to hear what all the changes are going to be on her. Hoping she still has the Boardwalk Dog House. Never been on a ship yet with that.
-
Junkanoo beach is pretty close to port and a great view of the ships in port.
They have changed somewhat there as they no longer offer the great drink deals and specials that they used to. They have changed the name of the bar there and upped prices.
Still a free spot to access though.
-
Defn some good deals..booked for Oct on her.....I could see the waterslides being a part of the overhaul as it seems that is the trend lately. Losing the mini-golf area prob not a big deal.
I thought though they had done some refurbishments in 2017 with a lot of cosmetic stuff done already?!
-
It's supposed to be the biggest Royal has ever undertaken...$100 million in renos.......its weird they are keeping it so hush hush.
Normally they release details months in advance of the changes....I know on the Royal page they throw some hints saying its going to be "more water, more parties" type thing but...
-
its great..been there a cpl times. Which more times in Nassau we docked overnight..its a really fun place!...Doesn't get hopping till about midnight and goes till about 4am or so....
-
We quit cruising RCCL because the last time we did i ordered the battered Haddock in the MDR and received Captain Highliner little triangle fish sticks.
Unbeleivable for a cruise line very disappointing.
Celebrity is much better,
That's why you quit RCCL..over fishsticks?!:')
I like the fact Celebrity has better food and less children.....but I am concerned that it maybe too much of a quiet difference from Royal from everything I have read. I defn enjoy good live music....dj's and nightlife with a crowd around.....
-
I have never seen one smoker in 10 cruises smoking in a non-smoking place...so yeah, I understand what the OP is saying. Its just never been my experience.
-
Yeah..never seen that in my experience....but I have only cruised Royal..so maybe its much different. Or maybe cause Royal gives smokers a place to smoke inside, they don't flaunt and violate the smoking rules as much on Celebrity.
This thread makes it sound like its a smokers free for all on Celebrity cruises..lighting up, throwing out, standing wherever they want to when they want to.....interesting.

Cant wait to actually see these changes once she is done. Hoping there will be lots of reviews and pictures posted then...countdown is on till I am on her in Oct!
