Well that's a little better at least. Such a gamble to try and lock something in for something so far away in the future. But good to see that they seem to be updating it a little more frequently perhaps? Wasn't that long ago it was at 1.40 if I remember correctly.

Interesting..I wonder what Celebrity's policy is about selling out cabins last min to fill them?
I know Royal's policy is to NOT do that.
They proudly announce they would rather sail with empty cabins, then sell them off cheaply or last minute.....
-
Any updates on the OBC charge...dollar floating around the high end of .77 certainly isn't helping things..

I haven't cruised with Celebrity yet, but with Royal many times. The only time a large group affected a sailing was a large religious group...around 800 of them on Brilliance of the Seas out of Tampa.
First off it affected the bars as they were WAY less busy which wasn't always a bad thing...lol. But it affected the nightlife for sure as the bars, clubs and casino were way less busy than normal.
Biggest effect was eating...these people(assuming as they didn't drink or gamble or swim or lie in the sun, so why they booked a cruise is kinda weird) would spend hours and hours in the buffet and any other eating area and take over. First cruise that I had to walk around pretty much every meal, every day looking for a seat or standing with my food till a table became available.
Needless to say, I always check just in case now...

Contact Captains Club prior to sailing to get your reciprocal status from your Royal status. Max is Elite (Diamond). You don’t get Royal points. If you plan on martinis upgrade to the Premium package. Don’t miss the free Corning Glass show on the lawn

Great info...watching this thread as I am doing a short 3day in January on her!
I am hoping there is some good nightlife on it between bands or DJ's?!
-
Wondering what the daily "activity information booklets" are called on Celebrity (called Cruise Compass on Royal) and where I could find some that have been posted so I can get an idea what a day on the ship looks like and what I can look forward to try /experiencing and any can't miss activities onboard!
-
Thanks for that...so same as Royal basically....I don't use it often, but nice to know what to expect ahead of time if I want to factor in some room service...
-
I saw the Ketel One wasn't in the classic and that is my go to Vodka when I cruise on Royal....I see a few other things not included in the Classic like Red bull, Baileys to mention a couple...so looking like I may need to go with the $65 which is more than Royal's package
-
Any confirmation of paying for room service...on the celebrity site it shows its included, but some have stated there is a late charge (like royal used to do before they started charging for any room service outside of breakfast)
if so, what is the cost and is it per person or room or dish or?
-
awesome...thanks for that!

Thanks for the great detailed response!....Everything is answered!
Looking forward to trying Celebrity for sure....

I am trying to find a link to the menu or break down of prices to see just how much and the drinks that the classic package would cover...anyone have a link or pics or a site that has this?
-
is there a link or list of up todate drink prices so one can ahead of time try to determine which package is best?

As stated I am trying Celebrity after 9 cruises on Royal. Got a great deal on a 3day cruise to Bahamas out of Miami. So a few questions as my whole cruise experience is only with Royal.
Smoking-just outside, but I believe there are a couple bars outside that allow smoking at them?
Room service is 24hrs, but is it included or extra charge after midnight?
Do they use a "Seapass" card system like Royal with a separate account for each guest in the room and you use them everywhere on the ship?
Which/where is the late nite food available from and are most restaurants included with the fare?
With the drink package, the middle one that covers up to $11 drinks I believe...will that cover most of the drinks offered on the ship at any bar, or is it better to pay the extra for the top package?
Thanks in advance for your help and answers....looking forward to trying out Celebrity!

Just the one. Even though Adventure has 2, it is also a bigger ship with more people so that can make a difference
. I am looking forward to Jewel in April...

I have received a credit before when it was a first time cruiser in the cabin with me..but this time I have 2 other couples coming and booking their own cabins...am I still going to receive any OBC or who do I need to let know once they have booked?

Here's an excerpt from something I read this morning. (y)
"Remember 73 cents?
That's where the Canadian dollar stood as recently as early May.
We're now almost a dime later, and the loonie is forecast to spike higher still, possibly to 87 cents by the end of next year, or about 14 cents ahead of where we were in the spring.
That's the latest projection from Bank of Nova Scotia. JPMorgan Chase sees a far faster surge, to 86 cents by the first quarter of 2018.
Others aren't as bullish as Scotiabank and JPMorgan. But many analysts have nonetheless revised their forecasts, and see the loonie climbing in the wake of the Bank of Canada's sudden summer shift."
Got my doubts we are going to see .87 by end of year..more like .77 or worse at this point....was really hoping the upward trend would continue......got my cruise booked in CAD but for OBC and spending $$ once on the cruise..anything over the 1.30 exchange really hurts!
-
Ahhh..the good old days when I could buy the OBC at 1.10...what I wouldn't give for that now....
Sure made it a lot easier to justify booking more cruises and purchasing more OBC at that rate!
-
Following along.....to next April. Can't wait, it looks like a real nice ship.
-
I want to try Carnival..but until they change the drink package(15 limit) I will stick with Royal or maybe give NCL a shot.
But for the nightlife and fun activities, sounds like Carnival is the ship to be on!
-
OBC always had to be bought over the phone in my experiences. And I did it often a few years back when RCI was giving the 1.1 rate compared to what the true rate was. Was a great deal and allowed me to cruise much more often then I have since the rate went up.....
Wish they would offer some cruises at par for Canadians(like NCL often does) or give us a break on the OBC to make it more competitive to book and vacation with Royal.

Awesome....good to know. Thanks!

Looking for any feedback or recommendations on this hotel as well as I am a wyndham member and can get this for a half decent price compared to other hotels out there.
Seems like there is alots around within walking distance.....food, beach, drinks etc.....?!
11:40 FLL to Toronto with arrival in Port Miami
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
I don't think so...as long as you do the self disembark and are off by about 8am...which has never been a problem for me on past cruises...you have over 3hrs to get to FLL.....
Of course anything can go wrong, but as long as things go the way they are supposed to and normally do it should be fine.
For the $300 savings, I would defn try/chance it.
