You might be lucky and get one. if you go you have hit the jack pot,, request Ellen.. Your greeter take you places that you would never even thinking about. We were so lucky when we had Ellen.. You are suppose to have the greeter for 2 to 3 hours. She stayed with us for over 6 hours. and then got us into a harlem church service when the guest line was wrapped around the block. Did i say it was free.

go to the high line ... grand central station use the subway system, if you are lost just ask someone on the street .. they will help you no question about it.. There is traffic and it is conjested. I would not even grab a cab you will be stuck in the traffic.

we were in NYC for 4 days and we slept a total of 14 hours, there is so much to see and do. The only thing we paid for was Rockerfeller (sp) centre. make a reservation for the WTC memorial so you can skip the lines.. there is so much to see and do ... strawberry fields.

I would take a cruise anytime out of NYC just to spend a couple of days there.

I emailed casino@carnival.com to inquiry if there were any perks available on my next cruise based on my play from previous cruises. Our next cruise is in Feb. and I just sent the email a few days ago.

i booked this up coming cruise .... leaving in 2 weeks :D , when i booked the cruise 12 months out i booked chef's dinner the next day.. early ,,, really early but i booked for 5 of us. But i did not want to miss out. I am so looking forward to try the new menu.. PS eat a really tiny lunch,, you will roll out of dinner .. there is more than enough to eat and enjoy...

3 hours of eating and wine drinking ... whoo best $ spent as far as we are concerned .

LOL i had a cabin steward who just moved the head from one cabin to the next, kept the same body all week.

One night he forgot our head, me who had a few drinks in caught him in the hall and said " someone decapitated our towel animal but we don't have its head, someone left with it when they did the deed"He looked mordfid.

I am Canadian and get 200 in USA one bills from our bank here at home and just bring them with us. It is part of our journey every cruise.

FTTF do not get to use the lounges it general seating with regulars

there must be a lot of diamonds and plats on your cruise, they will only sell the FTTF pass in lots of 15, Truly there can not be a lot of FTTF that are making the line up a lot longer. they only get to get on the ship after weddings, diamonds and plats ,, then FTTF .

2 bottles per room. this trip we are pretty lucky we have 3 rooms, so our orders have been split between the 3 rooms. It suck when we travel by ourselves, hubby drinks balck russians vodka and kalhua .. how i solved that is as soon as we board i order my bottle through room service. If you are on a roll call maybe you can ask someone on the roll call to let you order a bottle for thier room and collect it from them.. just a thought

if you asking about the bottles of liquor that you can order through the bon voyage department, they can be deliver when you ask them to be delivered to your room. I usually have them delivered when we arrive on the ship. There is some rule for Texas I believe that states due to one of their rules for the state that it can not be delivered until the second day of your cruise.

been to 3 different chef dinners not one was held on elegant night, They wait for everyone to show up at a location (usually at a bar) so you don't want to be late. Part of the experience is the galley experience. The chef sets the dates, you be given two dates you will have to pick which one you want to go to.

there was live reports from guests from the ship while this was all going on.

I worked as a buyer for big company. Maybe Carnival just wanted to make sure they had all the materials on board to start the renovations. A back order of one material can throw the whole schedule off. It is not like they can hop in a car and go down the road to pick up something. All the material has to be there in order to do the renovations. The arrangement of these logistics at times must be a nightmare.

At least you got told ahead of time , It is not like they are cancelling Camp, they are simply moving the location. I bet your daughter will not even know the difference. Never sailing Carnival again because of this does sound like you do need another coffee.. :cool: Enjoy your cruise

we always use posted notes and have them put up on top right hand corner of door, that way most people miss those message but the ones they are intended for ;-)

If you purchase as soon as you get on board you are charged taxes, correct?

If you purchase in International waters (day 1), you are not, correct?

Will all drinks purchased prior to purchase of Cheers (day 1) be automatically included?

my understand you will be charged taxes on the drinks consumed when you board and before you enter international water

you buy 2nd day you are charged for the drinks seperately for the drinks on first day so you will have two charged the packages and the drinks from first day.

if google cruise fare tracker, there is a website that cost you $1 that will track it for you and email you an alert. I don't waste my time every day :eek: tracking it does it for me :D I can not name it here as it is against the rules. Done this for 7 cruises now and i have caught every price drop

I have never booked reservation to chef's table on the ship... always booked it on line through steak house. As you can see from this thread someone has already booked for the splendor for 14 guest. That is capacity for one night. they usually take 12 guest.

On the steak house reservation page this is how I do it.

first name spot ... put first and last name

last name location ... that is where I put I want reservation for chef's table (I put it in CAPS) * reservation for chefs table*

fill the rest of the form out

for the date I just put in the first night we sail.

This way has never let me down, I have always received a confirmation, if I wait until we board there maybe no spots left and we don' know if they will run more than one chef's table per cruise

Going on a cruise out of Miami in February and went to book my favorite hotel Holiday Inn near the Bayside Market and it is full. Want to be near Bayside shops, has anyone stayed near there but not over the top in price at a hotel. Thank you I am so disappointed about our regular hotel. :)

Hello, This is our first cruise on Carnival's Fascination. I am curious about the Captain Dinners. I don't know much about it..Someone said you had to pay for it extra..are you invited, make reservations, given tickets, and also how do you dress... Thank you so much and anything else you can help me with!!!

Captain dinner ?? would you might be talking about the chef's dinner??? I have not heard of Captain's dinner on the 5 cruises i have been on...

usually 12 people, reservation required

dress can be anything you would be comfortable in but up scale is nice

Even if they took your excess wine when you check in for cruise #1 you could just claim it back on the last day of the 1st cruise and put it in your room for the 2nd cruise. Right?

yes you can claim it back for second cruise

I bought FTTF pass for first cruise and guest services just let us continue to use the services offered for the second cruise,, ie early disembarkment etc. They were really good to us.

B2B last year.. we brought 4 bottles of wine with us the first cruise ... we said we are doing a B2B when we first went through security, they did not ask for second ticket, they did not take the 2 bottles of wine away to hold for the second week :D. Ahhh we drank all the wine the first week . :rolleyes:. We went to the onboard duty free shop and bought liquor the very last night of the first cruise and they did not take it from us, they let us take the liquor to our room . Well we did not fess up that we were on a B2B,, they did not ask i did not tell ;).

In between cruises we (was with friends) did take the option of the in transat passes and just for some reason, well I came back with more wine. Even came back with 3 bottles instead of 2 .. told them I was on a B2B and needed refills ... maybe they misunderstood me but they did not take the 2nd or 3rd bottle (truthfully it was one me from our room on the intransat pass the hubby stayed on board). I stuck gold..

we did not get the free wine or flowers if that what they do. a fruit basket did show up on the 4th day of the second cruise.

if you are changing rooms the room stewart will help you move to new room. Just be sure to tell you stewart that you are on a B2B.

22 different trip all over the place and not once have i seen luggage like ours, cars, plane and trains on one set, islands and palm trees on the other. It is great you can spot the luggage come down the airline shute, can spot from lido deck in the luggage bins. Love that luggage.

I can see how luggage can get mixed up in that sea of black, blue and green luggage. Like the idea of painting it :D

you do, not your travel agent if that is the way you booked, that is personal information and has nothing to with your travel agent.

for regular OBC

if you booked your cruise directly with Carnival you do

BUT

if you booked your cruise with a travel agent,, they have to do the form for you to be accepted..

if you go to your cruise documents you should see OBC underneath where all your payment information --- it will be listed as credits

Only one FTTF is needed per cabin.

one per cabin that information right on the screen where you purchased it. but it is tiny so many do miss it

diamonds, platiums, wedding parties, FTTF , the first 3 go first when they are through the line then FTTF.. then next is zone calls. There will be a person holding you back (FTTF) who will tell you when you can board.
