  1. Hi I am Canadian and all i have ever done is Carnival, i am comfortable on Carnival.

As a Canadian the only down fall i find is disembarkment at Tampa.. In Miami and Fort lauderdale you can disembark with everyone and not have to pre clear customs on the ship like you do in Tampa. By having to pre clear in Tampa , you will have to haul the whole family out of bed on the day you are to leave the ship down to the main lounge, wait for the customs guys and ladies to show up and do a pre clearance with them. Yep down there at 6 30 in the morning, You wait in the main lounge with all your family along with maybe a few hundred other Aliens. This can take up to 2 hours and depends how many aliens there are on board. You have to be out of your room by 8 30 and you still have not had a coffee or breaky. Then you have clear customs once again to get out of the terminal. If you are travelling home that day it can make for a very long day.

I like Carnival, the food is good, entertainment sometimes is hit and miss, family comedy, rooms very clean. I have been told kids clubs are great..

I now check to see what the disembarkment process is before we book, it has to be a really special cruise out of a port that has the same process as Tampa.

they have a great bon voyage department where you can pre order bottles for your room if you are a drinker, you can bring soda and water on board. a bottle of wine each for each adult in your room. I love buying the Faster to the fun pass for our room if we have tender ports it has some perks that goes along with it. yes we are a Carnival family..

  2. if you are going to the worldtrade centre memorial .. pre buy your ticket on line, cost is $2 a person last time in looked.. You get to skip past the lines of people who did not put a reservation is. The world trade memorial is free but the 2 bucks is just to put a reservation in. it works a lot better. The subway system is great and easy to get around in. we bought one week passes i beileve for 30 bucks and used them. We were only there for 3 days and end up giving them away when we left.

there is also a goup called the Big Apple organization. you apply for thier services .. they are a walking tour. and Free , we bought gifts from where we live to give to her. When you fill out the form on line you sell yourself to them. the vollunteers select who they want to take around. Our vollunteer was great ,, shee was suppose to be with us for 3 hours max and she stayed with us for 6 hours and meet up with the next day to get us in a church service in Harlem. Plan your trip ahead of time there is so much to see and do in NYC that is free, we left exhausted .. we started at 7 in the moring and went to bed every night at 2 in morning.

I can understand why the commercial is i love new york :D

  3. stayed last year (got room fron $75 a night on priceline) rooms was nice in the villas, we were close to the tower so for us it was not a long walk... We had no issue with the room being clean, bed was comfortable. air con worked well,, that is all we asked for, Bathroom may be a little dated but the water was hot and lots of pressure.. i would stay there again

  4. yes just over the bridge and you can buy some general wines across the gas station store across the street. great place to stay .. got it last year for $75 a night on price line. They have a shuttle to the port at the car rental place on the property..

Go visit the ships ... Steven Stilbergs, Judy Judy and if you see the smaller ships "share the moment" ask what it cost just to share the moment for a minute ....LOL

  5. thank you for posting, we are doing this excursion in November and now i really more than want to go there. Bringing bug spray ... sending link to friend from Australia who will be with me..:D

  6. if they move you it will be to another balcony room, Considering that your cruise is 5 days I doubt highly you will get moved from that room.

the plus side that room has a bigger bathroom and I never had a water issue with the shower running all over the place when i had one of those rooms.

stop stressing so you can enjoy the cruise

  7. call me strange but i like going to those rooms that are different ie. the bowling alley balcony, the L shape room. I like switching it up, and always try to book early enough that i can grab one of those rooms. For our next cruise we have two L shape rooms side by side. The room divider will hopefull be opened up. It is not the same style room every cruise. :D

  8. I akawys decorate our door, there will always be a white board so we can leave messages for each (usually travel with friends), I already have the new door decorations for our next cruise. We have 3 rooms side by side and we are doing a priate theme this time. I found peel and stick pictures at dollar store. The peel and stick pictures are meant for a room wall but will work. We always have a great messages left by people on the white boards . For us it fun and all about the vacation.
