I have a rider on my house insurance for trip insurance. Manulife. It cost us $106 a year good for 30 days out of country, renews after stepping foot in Canada for 30 minutes for another 30 days. Great for day trips to the USA for shopping or dinner. Covers everyone who lives in the house. It gives great coverage and i don't have to think about travel insurance for the year. It is a very reasonable cost. Check your house insurance to see if you can get it. I live 20 minutes from the boarder so it is great for those day trips.

yes i book out as early as possible, I get to really pick the room i want and pay it off monthly :D. Excursions --- i have not once ever bought a Carnival excursion, I do all my research here and trip advisor and not had one bad excursion.. I book them early enough and get the tour guide i like. I had price drops on our Alaskan cruise but did not see those for about 8 months before we left. I am booked on the Bermuda cruise for next year and i only have seen the price go up and up. I am happy with the price i paid and thrilled that i did not wait till now to book it.

I live on the shores of Lake Erie, our water samples that are taken today and if there is a problem it is posted three days later, which makes no sense. The problem could resolve itself by then and you have people swimming in that water for three days. I have seen beautiful crystal clear water and the beaches be closed down . So crystal clear water does not tell you a thing if is dangerous or not . It all depends on water current and wind. We can have one beach posted but yet the next beach 1/2 mile away is open.

There are cities all along the Canadian and American shore lines that dump into the oceans on both coast. You have sewage plants that overflow into the great lakes and rivers when it rains. You have farms close to shores and the animal feces goes into the water table. If anyone that lives near the ocean, lake or river ask you government for the overflow reports in the USA or Canada. You will be amazed how many times raw sewage is dumped. A simple sewage plant is not all the answer.

Remember you grandparents outhouses , where do you think that waste went, once the hole was filled and they moved it to another location.

I prefer the Nijia, let them do thier job, if they read my posted note and supply the ice that I asked for. Bonus and ice continues to be there all during the cruise without having to ask for it. You done your job well there is an extra tip in it for you. I am not high maintenance so i don't need to meet them or even speak with them tip extra.

The report with names for the 3 Mounties killed and the 2 Mounties in hospital ARE NOT Mike or Tracey. But the fact is there still 3 Mounties killed and 2 still in hospital. It still is a very sad day for all involved. One Mountie married 4 years with a 19 month old and another on its way, one with 3 children,

I meant to only make a small payment on my cruise, but ended up paying off the entire cruise. I sent an e-mail to my PVP, as well as left her a voicemail.

 

If anyone has done this, I would appreciate any comments as to whether or not I will be able to reverse the full pay-off and pay only the small portion.

 

Going forward, I will not be making any payments before having coffee!

Hi all

maybe this will help my flight leaves Fort Lauderdale airport at 4 o'clock the day we disembark.

I booked Sept 2013, we sail in November, could not get early saver then and still can not get early saver and have not had one price drop. There are still lots of rooms in our category and still loads of rooms left on the sail date.

I am interested in luggage express, called carnival and customer service could not answer my question. What is the latest time flight time do the allow for luggage express?

you get off the ship like everyone else. not special perks for anyone getting off the ship. Boarding at port is going to depend how many diamonds and plats that are boarding the ship as they get on before you.

h this is how i book it from home

go to the page where you can book the steak house, to make a reservation

on the drop down where they ask for you particulars

on the line they ask for your first name i put my first and last name

on the line they ask for your last name i type in chefs dinner reservation

on the line where they ask the date for steak house reservation i just put in the first night of the cruise .

the other lines i fill in with the information that is asked for booking number etc..

i have done it this way 3 times and received confrmations through email before the cruise. I do go to the steak house the first night just to confirm the reservation. They will send a letter to your room on the ship with the date and location when on board.

enjoy, I am also waiting for a menu change before i book again. Go hungry, skip lunch .. It is a eating feast .. my eyes are always bigger than my stomach..

Last year i could fly for just a little more than 1/3 of what my cruise fare, (balcony room), this year my flight is more than what my balcony. It is not the price of the cruise it is my total cost of flight, one night pre cruise hotel and cruise that is starting me to look elsewhere.

is anyone else fustrated by the cost of flights. We could fly (up last year) for a reason fee, I am looking to book another cruise for later this year and airline fee has stopped us in our tracks. I am not talking here about your high end airline carriers, we are talking about jet blue , southwest etc. our flights will cost us more than our cruise fare for a balcony and by air we are only 2 1/2 hours away by plane.

it is cheaper for us to go to a land resort 5 * than a cruise. sadly that may be our option. (plane fare and cruise fare)

I have to book flights for another cruise later this year and this may be our last cruise.

that is why you will see a lot of suitcase from Europe that have shrink wrap of them. no need for locks. if the shrink wrap is gone then you they know someone has been in thier suit case.

On our luggage there is on place and only one place where our luggage will be able to lock the zipper to the main part of the luggage. The zipper can not be used until the lock is taken off. It is always securied at the one end. If they use a pen to open up they can not rezip it. We use a strange color zip tie instead of a lock to secure ours.

considering the price of limes here ... January they were $14 a case in April they were $100 for the same case. Limes for any drinks are now slivers not wedges,,, considering a lot of people don't squeeze them for the flavour and we toss them out they are only by request,

went on our last cruise, going to give it a try again.. I started the morning off that day feeling yukky, by meal time it was a cold coming on.. and i could not taste a thing. I ate the meal that looked lovely but to me it had no taste.. So for next cruise i going for taste :D

I gone to chefs dinner every cruise.. but i am in my own little way hoping that they do change it up..

i forgot to mention, if you leave the ship to go shopping, when you come back, go directly to the VIP line and tell the nice people there that you are already checked in, go through security and if you bought more wine :D, they will do thier inspection, by pass the check in counter (cause you already are :D) and walk right back on the ship again. No waiting for a zone to be called. Love love B2B

don't they have more than one card reader on board? I think they do...

what bothers me the most. Is that extra tipping at the start of the cruise will turn into be expected . I know at some land resort it is the way it works now it is expected and i will not bow to that tune. Tipping to get service (bribery) is not the same as tipping for good service.

last B2B a small fruit basket was sent to our room from carnival. Go to the duty free just before it closes on the last night of your first cruise and get refils for next cruise. time it so you can carry your liquor to your room instead of being delivered.

Bring your wine allowance for both cruises on first cruise. tell security that you are doing B2B show them the boarding passes if asked. you more than likely will be allowed to carry all the bottles on with you. PS i ran out between cruise and got refils. I did not ration the wine well to last both cruises.

There will be a letter in your room delivered the last night with instructions on where to meet on board so you can go through customs and get your new sail and sign card for the second leg.

Let your room steward know you are doing a B2B, if you have to change rooms they have a cart and will help you move to new room

Enjoy the B2B it was the wonderful having the whole ship to ourselves for a couple of hours and not pack up and have to leave.

first let me say i don't have kids that are kid's club age. All grown up. I saw this type of question on another travel forum and thought i would throw it out here.

Here is why i ask, the parents were considering leaving kids at a land resort kids club and going to another city that was a couple of hours away for the whole day.

Do you leave your kids on the ship when you do excrsuions? What would happen to the kids if left in the kids club, and the parents missed the ship. Would the ship wait for the parents? I am not to familar with kids club rules.

for me as a Canadian flights are pretty close in price flying out of Buffalo. The difference in price would not even come play to make up our mind which one to go to.

i purposely booked two rooms and put myself in one and husband in another just in case we can get that break. There was one cruise where we got a 55+ break and it was a nice perk.I will take any price drops if it comes my way.

the kids have a blast. they are given a list to look for and people have to sign thier list. ie lady in a yellow bikini. someone wearing flip flops, it is easy for them to get thier list signed. they do it in groups and they are so excited and some say just sign here. they approach you quickly and then they are a blur. they move fast. It is actually quite funny watching them having such a good time and so excited . i would not worry there is a lot of staff around that know what the kids are doing and will direct them.

Part of the fun is beng for them to do this by themselves, I would not go with your child as you would stand out like a sore thumb you would more than likely the only parent there
