Thanks for the quick replies! I went into the cruise planner and hit "ADD" as you suggested. Only the Deluxe package showed up. Has RCCL done away with the Select and Ultimate packages? Is it only available on some cruises?

I feel like an idiot, but I can't find the price for the beverage packages on the RCL website. could someone, please help me?

Thanks for your reply. After some additional research, I discovered that Alabama had a change in their liquor laws effective December 1. The change allows for sales while the ship is in Alabama/US waters.

Has anyone recently sailed on The Fanasy out of Mobile? When I booked, I was told that the Cheers package would not go in to effect until 6am on day 2, so would only be charged for 4 days on our 5 day cruise. I am now hearing that Cheers will start with embarkment and when I tried to purchase it charges for 5 days. Has AL changed their laws? Does Cheers now start with embarkment?

No more free lobster on formal night on cruises of 5 (maybe 6?) days or less. Lobster is available on the for-fee menu in the MDR.

That makes me sad:(

On the Fantasy for 5 days, starting Dec. 31. I have heard a rumor that there is no more lobster in the MDR on 5 day cruises, is this true?

I did not personally see any. We had stopped into the steak house for a nightcap and simply noted this higher priced drink.

 

I failed to peruse the wine selection. I might have to go again to do so. :p

 

Other wines in the dining room tended to go to the $11 - $12 or so price range for a glass before going to bottle prices.

What is area near the port like? Is there a town with shops? Would it be a good idea to have some free time in this port?

Just off the Sunshine and enjoyed my first cruise with the updated Cheers. It is a bad, bad idea to include those marvelous spiked milk shakes!! :D

 

Frozen Irish coffees.........don't get me started!

 

and the elusive $50 dollar drink. This is all we found and it isn't included. In the steak house.

 

did you find any $20+ glasses of wine?

I have read that the steakhouse bar on most ships has higher end brandy, wine, etc. Since The Fantasy does not have a steakhouse, is the higher end alcohol available? Is it in a specific bar?

We are sailing Fantasy out of Mobile on Dec. 31.

How od you get a PCC?

I am looking to book a cruise to the Southern Caribbean in Jan. 2017. These itineraries generally embark in San Juan. I do not see any scheduled after Dec. 2016. Is NCL pulling out of San Juan? Or am I missing something?

Interesting, I booked all of our excursions over the phone, in advance, and all of our excursions were charged to our onboard acct. and on our statement on the last day of our cruise. Maybe the difference is I added excursion on the phone and not online.

NCL did not charge us for excursions until the day of the excursion. Are you sure it was charged to your account?

I was on the Dawn from Feb 7-14. I can honestly say it was an excellent cruise. I have never filled out a card to praise a crew member until this cruise. And I filled out 3 cruise hero cards on this cruise.

I'm sorry, how can they tell you that you can't cancel if final payment is not due yet?

I guess they could tell you have to call back to rebook, but not that you can't cancel.
