P&O Cruisers - What are things like where YOU are?
terrierjohn replied to Host Sharon's topic in P&O Cruises ( UK )
After that extra ordinarily lucky escape, I think Gareth should buy a Euro millions lotto ticket this week. I feel desperately sorry for the Slovakia fans, having such a great victory snatched away from them in about 80 seconds playing time, must be heartbreaking. -
All your P&O dress code comments and queries.

I don't want to have to go to that trouble, but I would prefer to have the choice to eat in the MDR, even if I am not wearing a jacket and tie. -
Price trends for P&O cruises over time?

A good TA will ensure that you dont lose your original cabin in these circumstances. -

I don't really have a strong opinion about formal nights, but if certain cruise lines want to try and make 1 or 2 nights a cruise a little more special just to add some variety to the cruising experience, and that includes a smarter dress code, then I am happy to go along with it. But I would be equally happy for the cruise line to find some other way to enhance the experience, without having the formal dress code. -
But cats and birds are not normally friendly.

But people are most infectious when they have symptoms, which is when they should be quarantined in their cabins and should limit the spread of Noro. So the paranoia about infected utensils is, IMO, overstated. But if you feel you're under threat you can always avoid the self service restaurants.
-
It could well be infected crew, but Moley did say ships have a protocol for infected crew to be kept isolated until they are clear of infection.
-
I am feeling upset and depressed because I have never, knowingly, seen one of these hidden ducks. Mind you thats not surprising, my wife tells me I never see when anything is out of place!
-
Even if they cleaned it for months, as soon as it went back into service it would be likely to succumb to further outbreaks. Its infected passengers more than infected ships that cause Noro outbreaks.

I wonder how insurance companies reconcile this holiday advertising with the fact that many folk work and their houses are empty every weekday? -

But then most folk had precious little worth stealing, so it would have been slim pickings for any burglars. -

Just been looking at Huddersfields fixtures, and a very depressing looking lot they are, gone are Leeds, Sheffield Wed., Middlesborough, Norwich, WBA, Coventry, Burnley etc. Now we have the likes of Crawley, Burton Albion, Cambridge, Shrewsbury, Stevenage and Exeter. -
If the intention of this alcohol limit is to encourage passengers to pay for pre dinner drinks in a ships bar, then I guess they would also want to stop you drinking non alcoholic ones.

In fairness it was a slightly better performance than the last one. But Gareth had a free pass tonight to give Gordon a longer run out to see if his pace on the wing would help to break down stubborn defences. -
The evening turn down service never involved any major cleaning, mainly stocking up the tea and coffee, replacing used beakers and teaspoons, emptying the bins and replacing or re-folding any used towels and a quick flick round the bathroom, then drawing the blinds and fixing the lights, along with the main item of popping a choccy on your pillow.

Not on Iona, each table is handled individually, and Iona does not have banquette seating, so both passengers have some sort of view.
-
Its certainly not a good image for P&O, on Princess last month the balconies were cleaned twice on our 14 night cruise.
-
They never confirm times until a few weeks beforehand, but obviously they do follow closely on previous times.
-
If it was too big a job for the cabin steward to handle himself he would have reported the complaint to his/her manager, and you could have followed it up if it remained unresolved.
-
Did you take it up with your steward, and ask him to clean it?
-
Not necessarily a deal, just a comparison. We booked G501 Caribbean 35 nighter on Iona on board at launch and paid £4526pp with £250pp for a GC grade select balcony. This is now £4199pp with extra, but unspecified OBC.

But I guess you have to admit that keeping dogs outside is very much the exception. -
Indeed it is and IMO by far the best venue for a tapas/cafe type wine bar on any P&O ship.
