  1. Quite possibly, but as a Yorkshire man I like to get full value out of my purchases, so a once a year outfit is a definite no no, especially as some people seem to buy a new one every year. 😇
  2. If you have a current annual policy, then you should still be able to make a claim.
  3. That's what is nice about being Elite on Princess, you get free laundry.
  4. I could eat either, but probably prefer ketchup.
  5. I have never owned a christmas jumper in all my 79 yrs, and don't think I am likely to change now.
  6. They do, but there is no discount for the charter flights you don't use, and you would need to arrange your own travel to and from the airport in Barbados.
  7. Just been looking at cabin width of both types of plane, airbus A330 is 17ft 3", the Boeing 787 is 18ft, only 9 inch wider with 9 seats as opposed to 8. Based on those dimensions I think I would choose the Airbus. When we did fly we did plenty of long haul journeys on A330's and A340's, and never experienced any problems, and TBH the older Boeing 767's of US Air with the 2-3-2 configuration were the most comfortable economy planes we ever flew on, obviously IMO.
  8. My son's girlfriend is vegetarian and family in Sicily bought meat free arancini for her, which contained ham! Is that the Italian version of meat free?😄
  9. That's probably because vegetable samosas are by far the most popular in the UK, and in fact many supermarkets only offer vegetable samosas in their Indian selection. And of course most supermarket Indian main ready meals are meat or fish based, so it's not as if buyers are being deprived of their meat.
  10. Regardless of whether you "paid" for this OBC or not, and IMO the jury is out on this, the fact remains that spend it or lose it still pertains. You could argue that having paid for it you should only buy something you really need, rather than frippery, but if you dont spend it you have still lost it.
  11. I cannot see anything wrong with that scenario, but my recent track record is not good, so maybe others could comment.
  12. You're right @Ardennais, I seem to have got sidetracked somehow, and your experience with booking on board clearly shows it's not possible to get loyalty discount for fellow travellers.
  13. Thanks for this info, since I have been on amlodipine for over 30 yrs with no ill effects and not missing the lack of grapefruit, then maybe I should stick to avoiding it, and hope to become a grapefruitless centenarian one day.
  14. Of course, but presumably with friends, and making a saving, there would be no problems. Or at least only once!!!!
  15. Now that's interesting, I might have to try some grapefruit juice to see if I have any adverse symptoms, if not I can go back to enjoying it occasionally.
  16. I would much prefer an extra Canary isle port than 2 days in Lisbon, or 2 days anywhere for that matter.
  17. Not surprised that the planner is not flexible, however if you book on board surely you just present your card for payment for a table for X people, they dont cross examine you to ascertain whether any in your party are not entitled to a Peninsular discount, do they?
  18. I also take amlodipine and, although I have not checked recently, I remember being advised not to eat grapefruit or it's juice.
  19. I am not sure that is correct, if you book via your account then I would expect the discount to apply to all those booked, but check with your TA, if you booked through one.
  20. That is true, you have to open a Flex Plus account.
  21. I dont really care, but some of the decisions it makes does make me wonder why any business would want to rely on this data before providing someone with credit.
  22. Just as an addendum to the flex plus account for travel insurance, money supermarket reports to me monthly on any credit rating change and this month mine has gone down, the reasons are my new bank account, and the fact that my credit balance has increased. Now maybe I can understand that a new bank account could possibly be a cause for concern, even when its saving me thousands on travel insurance. However since my balance is paid off in full every month, and has been ever since my first credit card going on for 40 years ago, then I would expect my credit rating to remain unchanged unless and until I fail to pay it off in full. I do wonder what sort of an impact a genuine financial crisis in my affairs might have on my credit rating.
  23. Simple answer, go to the buffet for breakfast, there you can pick up your own virgin conserve pot!!!👍
  24. The marmalade portion is more generous than the buffet ones. But if you look carefully at the bottom of the pot you can see virgin plastic, this would certainly not be the case if it was a recycled used pot. IMHO all returned pots will be emptied into the slop bucket and then put in the dish washer. Whether this is more wasteful than little bottles I would probably argue there's not much in it. But it will be a hell of a lot cheaper to buy giant sized catering tins than the prissy little labelled bottles.
