  1. TBH @Selbourne I think the service is much better now, your table waiters take your wine order before your meal order, and they have waiters who pour and deliver wines, as a result you now get your drinks before your dessert course!!!!🤣
  2. I think that is what @carlanthony24 was saying, both airlines are still doing Manchester flights.
  3. Not sure there are any more fish dishes, in fact generally less, salmon was always an option, now that's gone. As far as veggie options, I always thought these were handled via a special menu, so they never interfered with omnivore choice, now there are always 2 on the menu, so that makes omnivore choice far worse than it used to be.
  4. We berthed in Akureyri on both Celebrity Eclipse and Ventura.
  5. I was just looking at the launch offer for the 2026 Aurora 75 nighter in yesterdays paper, their prices don't seem too bad compared with the current prices for your cruise Selbourne. Although I don't know if the quoted ones are select or saver.
  6. St Lucia isn't usually a tender port nowadays, there are 2 berths on either side of the large inlet, which can take up to 4 ships, size dependant. My guess is since Aurora is now on the small side of most cruise ships, she would probably be the one required to tender if the berths were all full.
  7. I think you need to read the rules again, scooters with lithium ion batteries up to a rating of 100wh can be taken as checked luggage.
  8. Where else you put a mobility scooter?
  9. I also have my Carnival shares with ii, and I agree their website does not seem to allow you to print off a suitable statement. I have used their secure messaging to request them to send Carnival proof of my ownership, which they do, but they only send them in the last 4-6 weeks before the cruise, which does not leave much time to sort out any potential.problens.
  10. Why was the battery sitting there on its lonesome where was the wheelchair/scooter it belongs to?
  11. Am I imagining this or does my combi boiler not keep switching on for short periods, especially noticeable in the summer when the heating is off, which I assume is to maintain the reservoir of hot water ready for instant use, and will this not dry out if the mains water is off?
  12. Apparently other cruise lines are still using the old town drop off for their shuttles, but I doubt P&O will divulge why they have changed, is it a shorter distance therefore less costly, is some organisation paying them to use the science park, I guess we will never know.
  13. I wonder where the dredger intended to place all the thousands of tons of the dredgings?
  14. @gsmt47471015 has answered most of your questions, to add to his comments, I would say that pre covid there were usually more interesting speakers on our 35 night cruises, and there were some changes during the cruise, as well as some that were on the entire cruise. The guest artists do usually do the same number of shows as shorter cruises, and are changed at similar frequencies, except of course on the longer sea day legs. The MDR menus do repeat but pre covid the daily selection was higher, so I hope the executive chefs will now be a little more creative on longer cruises. We do enjoy the longer cruises more than the shorter ones, however the return atlantic crossing can seem more tedious, especially as the weather deteriorates.
  15. I thought that Princess said that the best prices for 2024/5 cruises would be now, hoping that the prices by next year would have increased.
  16. I suppose that depends on the price they set in the US, since I assume BI cruises will appeal more to them.
  17. But the current Princess price guarantee only covers 72 hrs after booking, so even if P&O follow suit then later price reductions would not lead to any reduction on existing bookings.
  18. ICF, since our first cruise on a modern cruise ship we have always had balcony cabins, however now with my wifes disability we do spend far more time in the cabin and on the balcony than we did when we were both able bodied. So my advice to you is to enjoy having the extra money to spend from your inside cabin savings while you can, and hopefully until wel into your old age.
  19. My son never books next years holiday until well after this years are a distant memory. Hee is just starting to think about next year, bit unlikely to book until spring next year.
  20. If you have a roaming passport (£2/day on Sky mobile) and available on most networks, this includes USA and EU Caribbean Islands eg Dutch ABC islands, Martinique, Guadaloupe and Sint Maarten. If you use this you need to ensure your minimum charge is set high enough to cover your likely number of days you will use it.
  21. It's undoubtedly what all cruise lines, or indeed all holiday companies, would like to achieve but, a bit like draining the swamp and being up to your neck in alligators, when reality kicks in and their ships are looking as though they may sail below their optimum passenger numbers, then it's a brave CEO that sticks to his guns.
  22. What a great saving Selborne, plus your £4500 saving on your travel insurance, that is one heck of a saving you have made on this cruise.👍
  23. All the more reason not to pay for a seat, and just accept what you get at check in.
  24. My wife used the onboard hairdresser once for a shampoo and blow dry, and came back with it frizzy and stuck out, and fortunately vowed never again. It must have saved me hundreds over the years.
