  1. That is actually a smart way to control the number of drinks served.

Not everyone abuses the system, I don't drink alcohol. I have a few sodas, and a few cranberry and club sodas. When leaving casino on NCL I would stop by the Casino bar and get one for the road. Much more convienent than waiting for the server. Also gives the server more time to wait on others..

  2. The thing I like better about CCL comped cruises is that their drinks on us card covers pretty much any drink. On NCL, the drink card I get doesn't. (of course, many other people get the higher cards, and get any drink!) I love getting Bailey's, and can't get that unless I pay extra for the drink on NCL.

I didn't like Carnivals drink card because you can not get your own drinks from the casino bar, only from servers. They were very slow, on NCL you can order your own drinks at the casino bar.

  3. I just got back from a Casino sponsored cruise on Carnival Liberty. I have previously been on NCL CAS cruises. The Carnival cruise was free but was for an interior room, so an upgrade to a nice balcony was roughly $500. So that puts the cost about the same. I very much prefer cruising on NCL. the buffet food on Carnival was very limited and basically inedible. You read about smoke problems on NCL, this past cruise on Carnival Liberty, the casino smoke was the worst that I have ever encountered. Service in the casinos is much better on NCL. The whole experience on NCL is much better than Carnival in my opinion. For those of you that think NCL is going down hill try a cruise on another line. I am now very excited about my upcoming CAS comped cruise on the NCL Gem in November departing from San Juan.

  4. I had FTTF last week on the Liberty, and was a little disappointed. My luggage did not get to my room until 6:00 PM or later. Also when it got time to get off FTTF were to meet in dining room, so I got there early so that I could be at the front of the line, and there was nobody there to monitor the people and the people who showed up at the last minute all stood in the entrance to the dining room, which in turn they were the first to get off. I think Carnival should have someone there so that it is fair to all.

  5. Called shore excursion line and was told it is still being offered and to keep watching. "Rachel" said they have not loaded a lot of them that will be offered for the winter months? So I will patiently....or not so patiently lol ;-) keep checking! I will post as soon as I get any luck in booking it.

Thanks for the info, you got more than I did when I called the shore-x number.

  6. I am booked on Carnival liberty through an offer from a land based Casino, and would like to contact someone in the Casino department ahead of time. Can someone help me with a E-mail address for the Players Club?

  7. I did a fishing charter in Belize through, Action Belize. It wasn't offshore or deep sea fishing, we fished for Snook at a mouth of a river. We all caught fish , had a great time, and it was reasonably priced. There were three of us, we meet outside the cruise ship terminal, were taken to where the boat was and headed out. Richard was our guide he was real good. we tried a few spots and he found one that started producing fish. When done he dropped us off right next to the cruise ship tender pier. I would defiantly do this trip again if in Belize .

  8. They do say, though, that if the water us a bit rough, they can't go right to the beach. You'd have to swim about 10 feet or something. And it says you have to be able to swim. So I'm not sure that's the best choice for him...

I am very interested in this excursion for our upcoming February cruise. I just wish there were beach umbrellas. Even with a hat, I can't really take that much sun for a few hours. Does anyone know if it's possible to rent an umbrella somewhere on the beach?

There are covered areas closer too the Soggy Dollar where you can sit in the shade.

I don't think that will be an issue, the boat pulls right up un the beach the stairs drop down you may have two steps in ankle deep water to get out. If needed the crew will help you.

  10. Getting on and off the catamaran is very easy. They pull right up to the edge of the beach and a set of stairs drop down, you will be in ankle deep water. There is crew there to assist you if you have problems with the stairs. It is a great time in a very beautiful location.
