  1. If all you want to do is avoid crowds/kids, yes. I find with no pool it loses a lot of value for me.
  2. Almost certainly. It tends to sell out early. You can go to Guest Services when you board (I would be EARLY in line at the port), and MAYBE there might be a few spots held or cancellations. But we did this on the Prima in January...we were maybe 25th in line at the port. Sign said sold out when we got to Guest Services.
  3. That's the issue--I did!!🫠 Time for caffeine...or a nap!!
  4. No this is not correct. Westbound you gain hours & Eastbound you lose hours. For instance: I live in CST. If I fly to FL it is an hour later there. So losing hours when sailing East. If I fly to LA, it is 2 hours earlier so I "gain" 2 hours. We were on the Regal Princes TA FLL-Southampton in April. The days we changed the time, they always did it at 1PM. I wasn't a fan BUT I realized that this was much better for crew--they didn't lose an hour of sleep at night. So I can get onboard for that.
  5. My apologies--I looked through that list twice & would have sworn I didn't see it... My lack of sleep is showing... That specifically says US employees cannot go to Acapulco...I do find it odd that cruise ships are choosing to go there. When we stopped in Mazatlan some years ago there had been some issues; we chose to stay in the gated port area for a few hours (nice outdoor bar w/ music) but ventured no further.
  6. The perks are free BUT you will have to pay gratuities. I recommend you look closely at NCL ports/times. I looked at several this summer & in Ketchikan & Juneau the port times were 630AM-130PM & the Juneau stop required a tender & a bus into town. I realiized this cuts your time in port A LOT (after we did that in Dublin in April). If you aren't on the 1st or 2nd tender over, you may only have an hour or 2 there--and honestly, WHAT is open that early? I'm not saying don't sail NCL--just be sure to pay attention to that. Both ports are fine are quite nice; SWA doesn't fly into Vancouver if that is a factor. SWA is usually our carrier of choice, but it was cheaper & we got better flights on Alaska Air to SEA & United home from Vancouver--YMMV. Either port I would plan on a day or two in--we love Seattle & Vancouver. Lots to see around both port areas. Have only sailed Princess & RCCL to AK; I'd do either again but small edge to Princess.
  7. My "free" $100pp casino cruise offers now only show $260pp+. Guess I'm glad I booked 3 next year already. We shall see what happens after that...
  8. I have scoured Google & here but don't seem to see this. I'm not super happy with wine selection under standard drink package. I'm seeing a flash sale to upgrade our package but have to buy it for both of us, which might not be worth it for my beer drinking DH. Anyone have these menus? Thanks
  9. If u book a suite, u have a lounge, restaurant & designated pool & sun deck. It was nice once (heckuva deal), but we’d rather sail for 2 weeks in a regular cabin for the same price.
  10. Have not sailed Holland, but most other mainstream lines. Have sailed Beyond twice--Retreat (suite) & Oceanview. Eclass ships are my VERY favorite at sea--I love the modern design. The MDR is quite good but their specialty dining is exceptional--tho getting quite pricey. Eden is our fav, but Chef's Table on Beyond was outstanding, as was Le Voyage. Sunset bar is a lovely area for sailaways or evening cocktails. We love the infinity pools on the side particularly a port day when we want to come back to the ship early (or just stay on board!) Eden lounge is a great place during the day--area above the sit down restaurant. Seating is odd there--some uncomfortable pieces. Try a few--some ARE comfy! Eden cafe is complimentary & open for breakfast as well as lunch on sea days. Great buffet alternative. (the walkway into Eden is unique--some hate it, some love it) The shows on Celebrity Eclass ships are top notch--think Imax type theatres. Very dramatic, incorporating more contemporary music. The martini bar is the showcase--it will get busy. Best times are right when it opens or late to get a seat at the bar. World Class Bar across from Al Bacio is often a nice place to get unique cocktails & usually not as busy. If you have the drink package, Cafe al Bacio coffee drinks are included--enjoy them! If you gamble, the casino is non-smoking--which may be a pro or a con depending on you! If you are in a balcony you probably have an "infinite veranda" (except sunset verandas, porthole verandas or suites). This is a large sunroom with a window that comes down with a push of a button. The A/C turns off when you do this & it isn't a quiet mechanism. We rather like it--nice extension of the room. But many DO NOT (some are ambivalent, some really like it). I say try it for yourself & see. (If you say you are in Retreat, I can comment on that) Have a wonderful time!
  11. @dougocam Glad you enjoyed it! We tried a Sky Suite last year--under $5K for a week with $800OBC made it not much more than we have paid for balconies so thought we'd try it. It was nice. But we are rarely in our room & like to partake in activities & shows around the ship. We decided we would rather sail 2 weeks for that price (even in an interior--the HORROR!) For 20K we can probably sail 7 weeks on Eclass. But I get it. SIL would LOVE an Edge Villa--she would rather travel infrequently, but in style. It's good to have options for all styles of travelers.
  12. Gees...yesterday I had like 10 travel offers on each card. (none I needed) Today--TWO on each! Goes to show...download offers you may or may not need on your card regularly to allow more offers to drop...AND CHECK OFTEN.
  13. Curious--I check this site frequently. How did you find it on the site--Hot Deals, Price Drops, New Releases? (I don't see it...so picking your brain!) Friends jumped & booked this last night. I need to call today to use our Future Cruise Deposit on it. Can't wait!
  14. It's still a maybe...we were looking at a TA about that same time again...choices choices!!
  15. We just walked up to the restaurant & requested a table for 4 each night at a set time.
  16. @GenerationX Well, I clearly walked right past your TR every day...I blame it on my crummy sleep recently!! Thanks again for the great TR (not as fun as sailing with you tho!) Interesting with the short cruise vibe. BFF & I did a 4 day 80s cruise on Princess. Not over the top. But our 5 day Celebrity spring break cruise--eh, I think we are OVER Spring Break & short cruises! (even had a comped 4 day Virgin cruise this month but air was stupid expensive & still had to pay for drinks...meh, we decided expensive air not worth it for 4 days, even comped) 3+4+3 in different rooms--AMBITIOUS. We moved rooms in the middle of our 28 day cruise in April & afterwards I was thinking it was not worth the extra $100 of shareholders OBC we got!!! (and had to move again...tho our next room was the best, so I GUeSS it was worth it!) Looks like you had a great time with friends & solo (as you always do). Love the bag!! Looking forward to your GenX/GenZ TR!
  17. Fantastic deal! Put it on hold while I figure out how to use my Future cruise deposit on it... Thanks! (heck that's a solid interior AI price!!)
  18. Ok just snagged a great deal on Aqua on Reflection July 2025. ($1600/2 AI for 6 nights). I would like to use my Future cruise deposit--must I call to use it? It doesn't show in my account but when I try to add it to my account it says it is already there...very confusing.
  19. I have not sailed RCCL solo. Princess does have solo gatherings nightly--now, just because they are in the daily doesn't mean people show! Princess ships tend to be VERY busy--we just got off the Regal TA in April. Trivia, game shows, games in the piazza, musicians, shows. Haven't been on the Allure in 15 years & it was the Caribbean but was on Anthem in Sept. Trivia was only 1x/day. Many fewer game shows (nightly on Princess), shows were much better. I find the food on Princess a step up generally, but not huge different. Finding a quite spot on Princess during the day is usually quite easy--I tuck myself in a louge/bar w/ no activity/music & enjoy my book. But I agree that I use a balcony more when I am solo than when sailing w/ DH. Princess Plus is great--I get my nice coffee in AM, wine with dinner, cocktail or 2 later. Again, with DH I always get my moneys worth, but at least break even solo. On RCCL we each brought a bottle of wine (this was BFF) & a 12 pack of soda. There are ways to get alcohol on if one so desires! It's a tough choice! I liked the Allure 15 years ago, but finding a quiet spot will be tricky outside your room. Biggest edge to them is the shows. You will have to add tips & wifi (if you are getting it) to your total cost, plus any drinks you buy. I prefer Princess slightly over RCCL & I like the simplicity of Princess Plus. I am also a fan of trivia & game shows. Always lots to do all day but never an issue finding a quiet corner to read.
  20. lol...I saw it, but I DO know ours is refundable as it was in Dec. Thanks
  21. I find it easy to make healthy choices on any cruise! Focus on fruits, veggies & lean protein Breakfast: eggs & fruit (oatmeal is a solid starter too) Buffet: salad bar & fruit. Lean protein MDR: Send that bread basket back! Starter: salad Main: fish, seafood or chicken or a plain steak & veggies--avoid sauces Dessert: fruit Liquor is the best choice--straight up or with club soda or diet soda; then dry white wine (not sweet). Beer: stick with Michelob Ultra, Busch Light, Miller Lite We just sailed the Regal Princess for 28 days in April. We ate/drank pretty much whatever we wanted. Not big dessert people. But with all the walking you do on a cruise (on ship & at ports) we didn't gain a pound!!! (I did NOT follow my above suggestions either!)
  22. We made an open booking on our December 2023 sailing. We didn't make a booking within the time frame to get the extra OBC. So--can I call & get this $200 deposit refunded? If not, how long does it stay on my account? (interesting...I don't see it in my account but when I enter the "reservation number" it says it's already linked...be sure to keep those emails folks!) Thanks
