  1. San Francisco was one of two ports that Carnival did not offer FTTF. However, I see that it's offered right now as an excursion for $69.95, so I suppose they have changed it. However, as you can see in this topic, that you get right on board at SF. And there were A LOT of Diamond and Platinum cruisers leaving from this port -- I believe they board before FTTF.
  2. We had the same experience with our June Alaska cruise out of SF. We were on board nearly an hour early.
  3. I bet you could work something out with Guest Services, to get the booze off the ship... maybe they could escort to booze to the debarkation security checkpoint for you to pick up on your way off the ship. Once it's off, then it would be treated just like any other booze bought in port, if you tried to bring it back on -- holding it for you until the end of the cruise.
  4. Do you recall the name of the Taxi company ?
  5. Another response from the B2B group: "OBC is per cruise, use it or lose it is my understanding. A B2B has 2 different booking numbers and the OBC goes with the booking number."
  6. OK, Just received a reply from the B2B group: "We had the issue last year on the Horizon. You can't move onboard credit to another cruise."
  7. Great question. Asking friends from a B2B group to see if they know how this works. My guess is that you can only use the OBC assigned to that specific cruise week. So, if they applied the $250 to the first cruise, you would have to use the whole $250 on that first cruise. I'll let you know what I hear from the B2B group.
  8. My last cruise I typically ordered 2 apps each night... and 2 entrées. I ordered two lobsters on lobster night and the waiter also brought me a filet -- said surf & turf is required. 😄 I'm usually too full for any desert... unless it's baked Alaska in which case I will make room... 😂
  9. Center of ship between front and back, and center deck. Look into daughter taking ginger in capsule form. Ginger helps a lot with motion sickness without all the side effects of Dramamine or patches.
  10. Please explain. Are you saying that I can use my OBC to purchase CHEERS in advance of boarding the ship ?
  11. I'll be the first to tell everyone that it's hell being perfect. There's not a cruise that can meet my expectations... 😂
  12. Anything with a window or door to daylight.
  13. I'm guessing they did not know or realize it was a B2B... but thought it was 2 separate cruises. I'm sure they do not have time for a deep dig into the reservations. I would suppose how the request is presented to them.
  14. I don't believe that. Carnival would not break up the two cruise "Legs" that way. You receive a $250 credit for a 14 day cruise, or you don't. Simple. I'd like to see the letter showing that Carnival split up the $250 the way you said.
  15. Not sure why you keep insisting that you take 10% off the fully priced onboard purchase. The promotion is not "10% off" the onboard purchase price. The promotion is "save 10%". That implies there is a 10% difference between the fully priced onboard purchase and the fully priced pre-board purchase, which is directionally true, except for a 9.5 cents discrepancy.
  16. Yes, I've always wondered if they were consistent in there OBC regarding B2B's. I once booked two 7-day cruises B2B and they gave me a $250 OBC as if it were a 14-day cruise. So I had wondered how they would treat a B2B of less than 14 days. Now I know.
  17. Nowhere does it say 10% off. It just says "save 10%". I think I will write Carnival and ask them to increase the on-board Cheers purchase price by $1 to $65.95 as it's "save 10%" is upsetting to many Cruise Critic members, given the 9.5 cents differential... 🤣
  18. Thanks. OK, Lets do the math... I like doing the math... $64.95 $11.69 (18% Gratuity) ===== $76.64 -- Total Cheers price when purchased on-board. $59.95 $10.79 (18% Gratuity) ===== $70.74 -- Total Cheers price when purchased in advance. $76.64 - $70.74 ====== $ 5.90 Difference between prices, which is 10% of the advance purchase price minus 9.5 cents.
  19. I don't see anywhere on Carnival's site that says or mentions a "10% discount". Caan someone share the link that says this ?
  20. Was on the Miracle May 29 this year for a 10-day Alaskan cruise. I couldn't be more pleased with the check-in and boarding process. We arrived at 9:45am -- 1 hour and 15 minutes before our 11am check-in. Dropped off our luggage with the porters. They had 5 lanes roped off outside - one for each check-in time that folks waited in. They processed each check-in lane fairly quickly -- our 11am check-in lane was released before 10:30am and we were fully checked in and waiting for boarding by 10:45am. We boarded the ship around 11:20am. The Lanes were great and eliminated confusion. There was plenty of seating inside the terminal after check-in while waiting to board.
  21. Just back from this cruise June 10. Expect 55F to 65F temps. Jeans and t-shirt or sweatshirt. A lightweight waterproof jacket in case it rains. Warmer Jacket just in case or to wear when out on the balcony.
  22. So... In summary, If everyone just did the $51... plus the $2 bill... plus random souvenirs and local chocolates from your home town... a John Deere hat... a "I Love Cruising" t-shirt... a bottle of local hot sauce... and a Pringles bought at the airport... This would be more than an adequate TIP. Now... The cash moneys distribution is pretty straight forward, but I'm wondering how they would distribute the random souvenirs and local chocolates from your home town... the John Deere hat... the "I Love Cruising" t-shirt... the bottle of local hot sauce... and the Pringles bought at the airport amonst the staff.
