Hi Mary Anne, we're on a different one in October.  This musical ships thing is disappointing.  And the offer of $50 is pretty ridiculous.  We'll see if anything changes.  Maybe I'm being too harsh, but Enchantment seems like one of those ships pretty well ready for the scrapyard, or pawned off to some 3rd world cruise line.

I'll take Enchantment any day over Oasis class

Stateroom 1100 would have been the first to go I'm assuming - would be a great room to have for the JS price.

Having sailed in that room before, I can't recall the aft of the windjammer causing any noise early in the morning. Not many people venture that far aft.

Above 1100, including the rest of the aft cabins on deck 10, is the outdoor seating for the Windjammer. You never here the staff making any noise.....it's the people too lazy to lift their chairs. Scrapping them across the deck.

It actually starts around 5am. Who gets up that early!!😳

The cabin itself is probably the best on the ship. Views are incredible! We did 28 nights in 1100 on Jewel a few years ago.

LOL!!  Gosh no.  With all that open sea time...won't catch me "riding the tail".  😉

Actually it's 9256 that is my favorite cabin on the Radiance ladies...in calm seas.

Love 1100 as a cabin in itself, but with me being a light sleeper...the rolling carts and scraping chairs just over your ceiling is a no go for me.

Bucky?  He can sleep through a bomb blast...having his hearing aids out.  😄

We like 9256 also....as you know. It will be gone be December 1st. Probably gone now....lol

We actually will be on Serenade in that cabin in February. We ride the "tail" all the time. Transatlantic or Pacific....so no big deal for us. A regular balcony wouldn't be large enough for 60 days plus, as we're thinking about the first part of this cruise.

Last time I was in 1100 I said never again. Chair Draggers scrapping the deck every morning. I guess the chair is to heavy for these old people to lift.

    Good luck!!

Cabin selection.  Totally unique and first one of a kind cruise for RCI.  Will be taking bookings for the next 41 days, and rep told me it was already nuts with booking for the full 4 legs.  Slim pickings by then for a ship with just over a thousand cabins available.  I won't be interested in anything but a JS and above, which limits it quite a bit further for me.

Guessing this is not something you are booking...so why do you care about how I feel about it?  🤔

Trying to snag 1100 out from under me.....lol

You bring up a very good point, and I think the 5% was a very arbitrary number.

I believe the CDC logic is that it is extremely unlikely for there to be a "break-thru breakout" meaning if 95% are vaccinated, there wont be any outbreak among those people. Even if some of them caught covid from one of the 5% that brought it on, they would almost certainly be asymptomatic and we may never even know about it. If you only focus on the 5%, it would be equally unlikely that enough of those people would 1 - Have covid and 2 - be in close enough vicinity of those exact 5% people (100 people in your 2,000 people example) to cause an outbreak.

My point is that many vaccinated can be carriers. Even if 100% are vaccinated and a few bring it onto the ship....some of them or the people around them will still get mildly sick and cause the ship to shutdown.

The whole ship would freak out quickly!

If everyone is tested prior to boarding that lessens the chances.

The odds of a vaccinated passenger get it/being contagious are exponentially lower than someone who is not vaccinated. Then it’s just math/probability of potential outbreaks with each additional person who is not vaccinated.

    Here is some math....

100% of the unvaccinated will test negative before getting on the ship. The only way they'll get it is from a nontested vaccinated carrier.

  7. I don't understand why people feel a 95% vaccinated cruise is safer? Vaccinated people are not being tested before boarding....they can just as easily bring covid on board. With over 2k on board....you'll still have many that will get sick and cause shutdowns.

If everyone unvaccinated and vaccinated test negative before boarding that would be the best solution.

You might get a L&S. Hurry up and you might be able to keep your aft balcony lol

    Sweet....

I misread the statement. Our Rhapsody sailing is still a GO....

Yup, same for me.  I will usually book a JS at the minimum, but though we adore that outside WJ area...I don't want it above my head.  I am very conscious of what is just overhead when I book, which is why I won't book deck 14 cabins on the large ladies.  😉

We stay off the "Large Ladies". Just floating barges....at least that's how we feel about Oasis Class. We are giving the Ovation a chance next year for the Spring TP. Hope it's a better experience!

B2B2B #9256 booked baby!!  🥰   NZ, Tasmania, South Pacific out of Sydney.  Ahhh...sitting on that balcony with a glass of wine as we cruise the NZ fiords...heavenly!  Would really love to do at least a JS instead, but just don't like the noise of the open WJ right over our head which would be 1100...light sleeper.

On the 4th leg TP, am transferring up to GS hump cabin for the bounce to Hawaii. 😉  Will hope to keep that one for the continuation once it is offered.

We use to book 1100 all the time....but those chair draggers in the mornings were just too much. 9256 is the way to go!

Thank you but this is not related to the topic of this thread. We discuss the new 2022-2023 itineraries here. You can find several other threads yesterday on the discussion of Vision back to service in Bermuda this summer.

This is the kinda of post that has chased all the interesting people away from CC. I look forward to the Wizard's post no matter where he decides to post them....

Not yet, but day will sadly come as they're going to larger ships. Not that long ago lucky if ship stayed with Royal for 20yrs max. Post CV we'll see happens next...

Radiance and Vision class are the perfect size for us. We do like cruising on Voyager and Freedom class. Oasis Class is something we would not go back on.

    Trying Odyssey in October (Hopefully).
