Just returned from the 2/14 sailing. The terminal process was smooth and we did self-carry off of the ship and it took less than 20 minutes from ship to clearing customs. We were on the Liberty in May and the new additions to the ship are great. The racing slides are a lot of fun with minimal lines. Tidal Wave is supposedly still being tested by the manufacturer - I did not see it running the entire time. They hired 5 additional sports deck staff to man the slides (and adventure ocean staff now take some shifts at the splash park slides). The new kids' splash park is much more fun and interactive. The mini golf is really cute. There were fewer open ice skating sessions. We no longer needed tickets for the ice show. They had 4 shows and you went according to muster stations (but there is a standby line if you wanted to attend a different time/day). The 3D projector is still under maintenance so the only movies shown were poolside. They are still working out some details and some staff were being newly trained, but it was a fabulous cruise.
Tidal Wave? Did you mean Boomerango? I hadn't heard that Tidal Wave ever closed.

YES! I have never been on the Anthem (yet) but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for starting a positive thread! I hope it stays that way. I have looked through a few Anthem threads today including one that was started just to ask if anyone would cruise with "Capt Disaster" and this one didn't make me roll my eyes when I read it lol :D I so love positive attitudes!

I agree, they did a great job keeping us updated. We actually went to the sit down breakfast in the Southern Lights dining room that morning and were never rushed to leave are cabin. We did leave the room around 11am so our steward could start getting rooms ready and as FTTF we were off the ship around 1:30.
DH and I have experienced that kind of wind before on a cruise but this was our teenage kids first cruise. Got them broke in on their very first lol

We are FTTF zone 1 and are in the line to go through customs. Lots still on board. Feel bad for the folks waiting to board.

I'm on her right now and Galveston is in view. We had 60-70 kn winds last night and had to slow our speed. We were rockin' and rollin'. Also had to drop a medical patient in Cancun which slowed us a little. Great cruise, tons of fun!

We recently obtained passports for our kids and paid for expediting and got them about 10 days later.

What date are you looking at going and how many people and rooms?
Edited to add. LOL @ myself, I thought you meant sales prices. Internet? Unlplug them from the net for a week, it will be good for them. My nephew is an internet addict, very poor social skills because of it. Not saying your teens are addicted but I firmly believe it can be harmful to give in.
I see so many people on posts about internet access post these types of comments about unplugging. I must say that I do agree about being free and staying off the interwebs while on a cruise but the reason we are going to allow our teen girls and 11 year old son to get the social package is because it is their first cruise and we want to stay in touch about when and where to meet up and also want them to have a way to reach us if something is wrong and we can do that through the FB social media app. Also, I have heard that those who purchase this package can also text via iMessage. Great way to stay in touch with the kiddos. So basically, it's a peace of mind for a mom who tends to worry :D

Ohhh Thanks for all the info! I just emailed about our cruise in January.

We aren't so concerned about getting rained on. Apologies, I should have been more clear. We are just concerned that our excursions might get cancelled (Cave tubing in Belize and Little French Key in Roatan) if they are having bad lightning. I dont really know of any indoor type activities in those two countries.
Ohhhhh, sorry I misunderstood. When we visited Belize it had rained quite a bit. We went planned to zipline and others on our bus were cave tubing. Unfortunately, once we got to the site it was determined that the water was too high for them to safely gets through the caves so they had to sit around and wait for the zipline folks...or join us.

I agree with Sweet Dutch Girl. When DH and I were in Cozumel last year it started raining in the afternoon. There were so many people grumbling about the weather but we had a blast! We were on a scooter when it started but were headed to take it back. Had to stop and get gas in it first though and we got soaked! People were huddled in the shopping area you have to pass through just watching the heavy rain. We walked right out and enjoyed the wind and rain all the way to the ship. It is what you make of it
