  1. I have only been on 2 ships and the CB was my first. I enjoyed her more than the other because I prefer the larger size so I didn't feel claustrophobic. I also enjoyed MOTS which the other ship did not have. They provide a pillow, blanket, popcorn and cookies during movie time. But the biggest reason I love her? COFFEE CARD! lol The International Café has specialty coffees and a card was available for 14 I believe so it averaged out at 2 per day so hubby and I had plenty. Also the IC usually has yummy pastries and such that are complimentary. Maybe I am just easy to please, though :D

One little tip for anyone who is directional challenged such as myself- the fish on the carpet in the hallways are swimming toward the front of the ship. I can't tell you the number of times I would turn the wrong way. Once I learned this little trick I was all fixed lol ;)

  2. In reply to the person who asked why one would where camo on a cruise- I live in Texas and am a huge fan and participant of hunting and have lots of camo. I also live very near the largest military installation so many of our kids school shirts (The ones they sale at the beginning of the school year as a fundraiser) and such are military inspired camo. The stuff is everywhere lol :D

  3. Following. DH and I are taking our two 18 year old daughters and a 12 year old son on their first cruise on January and have been trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to have an internet package of some kind as opposed to paying 50 cents (I think?) per text to check in with them. Sounds like we may be able to just do the social media one and just communicate via facebook. And I am sure they would love to be able to keep up with FB and Instagram while we are away... Hmmm, on second thought maybe keeping them off social media for a week would do them some good!

  4. I have never been on a Carnival ship (yet) but I have cruised the CB. I MUCH preferred her over the NCL Jewel that we cruised on later that same year. It's a large ship but easy to navigate and had MUTS. I didn't think I would be one to sit out and watch it but DH and I actually enjoyed the popcorn and blankets they provide and watched a movie one evening. One HUGE selling point for me is the Coffee Card on the CB. I love coffee! lol With it you get all the brewed coffee you want and (I think) 14 specialty coffees from the International Café, and there are also complimentary pastries at the IC- yummmmm. I am a runner and actually did a Charity 5K onboard that benefitted Breast Cancer research. I only have the 2 cruises to compare but even though the CB was larger I would see the cruise director and staff very frequently and there was always something going on whereas I actually got bored a little on the Jewel.

All that being said, we are taking 3 of our kids on a cruise in January and it will be a Carnival because I know they will enjoy that ship more. Happy cruising!

  5. The social media package was fantastic on our Sunshine cruise this May. $25 for 7 day cruise and, because I have an iPhone and iMessage works on wifi, I was able to iMessage as well. We purchased one package but my husband and my son were allowed to sign in as well imposing my folio number. Only one device at a time though; if you sign in and someone else is using it, it kicks then off.

So, if DH or I get this and then one of our teenage daughters gets it (they will be together constantly on the cruise so no need to get it for both) then we could iMessage them while at sea? That would be awesome to plan when to meet up and check on them and such. Norwegian actually has an app that you can text each other on, I wish Carnival had that.

  6. Keep them coming!

Some of the tequilas were really good and very smooth. They were a little more than what I was wanting to spend though (like $70-80 a bottle). Gracias for the free samples though!

DH and I did this tour the last time we were in Coz. We ended up buying 2 bottles of the almond flavor and one of the coffee flavored. So smooth and no headache the next day like I usually get with tequila!

  7. I don't enjoy overpacking...

I hate too many choices. I need my wardrobe to be streamlined so that I don't stare at all the clothes and struggle to make up my mind. Because it is a struggle for me...one reason why I have a smaller wardrobe in general.

I think it's great that other ladies can have so much fun with all their clothes and enjoy the time and choices for adding accessories...but this is a small form of torture for me personally. I'd rather wear one dress that I know fits me great and makes me feel good multiple times than bring several dresses and have to decide which one I would like to wear that night. OMG. Nightmare.

Oh my gosh, I'm the same way. I found a solution while packing for my upcoming cruise by taking my shorts and folding them in half, then taking the shirt I want to wear with it and folding it in half and I lay it on the shorts then roll them up together. I do this for every outfit. They pack easily and all I do in the morning is grab a roll and I don't have to spend time stressing over which shorts to wear with which shirts. I do that at home while I'm packing. lol
