  1. I misspoke, Navigator is not in South Korea yet. According to vesselfinder.com, The vessel is en route to the port of Busan, Korea, sailing at a speed of 17.8 knots and expected to arrive there on Mar 2, 21:00.

Our cruise starts April 12 and check in is this week.

  2. It has been awhile since we have cruised and can't remember what time to check in. We are sailing out of LA. The Navigator is in route to Korea. Do I check in midnight Pacific time, which is the port or ship time which is Korea?

    Thank you in advance.

  3. My husband was on chat with a representative for a long time yesterday trying to change our birth year. He was told they have a bug that is changing years back one year. Now we can't log onto our account on laptop.

Called about Military OBC and the it sounded like the representative was eating. He would ask a question and she would just say yes. We have many cruises on RC and have always thought their IT department was the worst. I think Princess is worse!

I had to go back to our 2015 rollcall to find the particulars.  We were lucky to have a very active group with many members organizing private excursions.  Google Murrell Farms for information about tours to the farm with Rockhoppers.  We used Estancia Excursions to see Kings, Gentoos and Magellans.  I mistakenly said we went to Bluff Cove but our Estancia tour was to Volunteer Point. Another operator frequently mentioned is Patrick Watts.  I'm so glad we had time for two different tours.  Of course we wanted to see and photograph Kings, but going to that farm was one of the best things we ever did.  Not only adorable Rockhopper penguins, but driving over peat fields with no roads, going into their extremely rustic farmhouse for tea with the wife opening the frig (electricity from windmill) to show us a gallon bowl of fresh cream.  Also educated us about the process of sorting, rating and selling wool.  It was very special to glimpse the farming lifestyle in such a remote place.

Thank you for all the information!

I've finally been able to spend some time catching up with your Thoughts and Impressions group, @island lady  The photos and discussion are wonderful and we are grateful for your time and effort!!!

We were fortunate to sail this area with Azamara in 2015.  Here's a pretty 11pm sunset shot from Paradise Bay area and several from our penguin excursions at Port Stanley.  I'm sorry the weather didn't cooperate for you.  We were also rerouted to avoid a storm but luckily got into Port Stanley.  We went to a sheep farmer's house in the morning to view the cliff on his property inhabited by cute Rockhoppers.  In the afternoon it was Bluff Cover to see Kings.

Beautiful pictures!!! Thanks for sharing. We have a cruise booked to visit Stanley Island. Who did you use for your excursions?

  6. Hello,
We had an excursion booked for Seydisfjordur for June 11, 2023 and the company cancelled on me today. We are now looking for an excursion. I have done some research and just about everything is sold out. The ship excursions are expensive. If we don't have excursion booked what are some things we could do in town on our own.
    Thank you!

Did yiu post  this on your roll call?  .  We are using Arctic Shore Excursions. Our tour sold out in a few days for a July sailing.  They offer private ones if you can get folks from your roll cal to join.

Yes i did post on my roll call. I did email Arctic Shore and received a standard email saying if they reply it would be a few days.

  8. I booked our excursion back in October and just received an email that our excursion was cancelled for June 11, 2023. I am looking for tour companies that might have 2 spots left. The ship excursions do not interest us. Or if you have ideas on what we can do/see in town I would be happy to hear all your suggestions!

    Thank you for help!

    This was our itinerary:

    • Fellabær - Short stop for restrooms
    • Skriðuklaustur
    • Fljótsdalsstöð
    • Hallormsstaðaskógur forrest
    • Gufufoss waterfall

  9. We will be on a cruise June 2023 that stops in Iceland and Ireland. Can we exchange currency on board? We would need Pounds and Icelandic króna. Based on tour times, we wouldn't be able to get to ATMs and we are trying to get local currency for tips for the excursions. Thank you in advance for the "tips" on how to get cash!
