Thanks Bob. I think I’ll create my own beverage package with the minibar order form.
-
is The Minibar in stateroom order form available on the Serenade? I though you were limited to just ordering a 12 pack of Evian water.
-
If you can get water and sparkling water from the freestyle machines, will they sub small bottles of water or cans of soda on Serenade since they don’t have freestyle or just limited to soda at bars?

I booked our September 2018 cruise online using my new Platinum C&A balcony discount of $100 off stateroom. At the time RCI offered $100 OBC and $125 instant stateroom savings. I didn’t know the extra discounts offered would not be possible with the C&A discount. My bad. Lost a substantial amount. I do like the BOGO beer/wine offer on the sea pass card for Platinum. Whether I use the balcony discount next cruise will depend on what extra is offered by RCI during booking.
-
Sounds like I’ll factor trip insurance into the cost of the cruise now like I have to for gratuities. It was always a hit or miss before.
-
I booked our September cruise last August when RCI had a BOGO 50%,like the sale now. Comparing price yesterday, if booking now cruise would cost $1100 more for the two of us. Im glad I booked when I did. I check each “sale” to see if price drops and I haven’t found it for less since.

A small light to use in the bathroom at night. Awfully dark in their with the door closed.

Platinum level gets 15% off any package purchased onboard.
Thanks Bob. One more question: Is the only internet package sold onboard the Voom or are there others offered if I don’t want or need it for the entire week?
-
Robes and an internet discount are part of the Platinum perks.
Is the internet discount off of the Voom package? I’m Platinum (first cruise at this level) also and would like more info please. TIA.

When are you sailing?

Thanks Bob.

Do they typically do the All Access tour on sea days or evenings?
-
When updating my profile regarding upgrades One of the options is that I do not wish to be upgraded to an accessible stateroom. Besides perhaps wider doorways and different showers, what other differences are there in these rooms. TIA

We are going on NE/ Canada cruise sept 2018. Can we us dollars in Canada or should we exchange for Canadian? And where do you exchange your money, without losing a lot with fees.
We will be sailing the same itinerary September 16 from Boston. When are you leaving? Don’t forget to join the roll call for your cruise. And welcome to Cruise Critic.

I’m a fellow Michigander and you’re right, a cruise sounds pretty nice about now. I stay on board to relax in some ports that I’m not interested in visiting. We are booked on a Canada/New England cruise in September. We have 2 days sailing out of 7 but they are on days 5 and 7. After rushing to Boston, getting on the ship and the excitement of that first day on board, I would really like to see the first day to be a relaxing day at sea. But that is just me. Whatever days are spent on the ship beats freezing weather and constant snow.

I have been using those clear plastic zippered cubes that sheet sets come in.

Great idea. I save these bags and repurpose them. I don’t like to put our clothes in hotel/ship drawers as I don’t know what was in them previously. 😬. Thanks.

The water should win, as water can be turned into wine, but not wine into water;);p
You are so right. But since I don’t have that ability, my options are limited. :halo:

And thanks Bob. Was thinking of buying some bottles from Logan when we arrive but then I’ll have to carry them around until our cabin is ready and probably cost about the same as buying on board. Already carrying two bottles of wine around. It is a tough choice but I think the wine wins.

Thanks AA75 (and your DW).

Because the bottled water package is not unlimited, there are no requirements for all guests in a stateroom to purchase and you can share with whoever you want.
Do they charge the 18% gratuity on the water package also? (Dumb question I know. They charge it on EVERYTHING!)

Dh and I have a RO system in our home and love that it removes the chlorine and chemical additives that are added by our municipality. We will be flying in to Boston the morning of our cruise so stopping to buy water is not an option. Yes, I know the ships water is good. Yes, I will likely bring a refillable water bottle with a charcoal filter to remove any chlorine from the ship water. My questions are:
(1). When on board, should I chose to purchase single bottle of water, do they sell 12 oz or 1 liter bottles and what do they cost?
(2). There is a water beverage package of 1 liter bottles listed starting at $39 adult for 12 bottles. Is this like the other beverage packages where both adults in a room are required to purchase a package or can we purchase only one for our cabin.
Who knew water could be so complicated. 😏. Thanks
