  1. I booked our September 2018 cruise online using my new Platinum C&A balcony discount of $100 off stateroom. At the time RCI offered $100 OBC and $125 instant stateroom savings. I didn’t know the extra discounts offered would not be possible with the C&A discount. My bad. Lost a substantial amount. I do like the BOGO beer/wine offer on the sea pass card for Platinum. Whether I use the balcony discount next cruise will depend on what extra is offered by RCI during booking.

  2. We are going on NE/ Canada cruise sept 2018. Can we us dollars in Canada or should we exchange for Canadian? And where do you exchange your money, without losing a lot with fees.

We will be sailing the same itinerary September 16 from Boston. When are you leaving? Don’t forget to join the roll call for your cruise. And welcome to Cruise Critic.

  3. I’m a fellow Michigander and you’re right, a cruise sounds pretty nice about now. I stay on board to relax in some ports that I’m not interested in visiting. We are booked on a Canada/New England cruise in September. We have 2 days sailing out of 7 but they are on days 5 and 7. After rushing to Boston, getting on the ship and the excitement of that first day on board, I would really like to see the first day to be a relaxing day at sea. But that is just me. Whatever days are spent on the ship beats freezing weather and constant snow.

  4. Dh and I have a RO system in our home and love that it removes the chlorine and chemical additives that are added by our municipality. We will be flying in to Boston the morning of our cruise so stopping to buy water is not an option. Yes, I know the ships water is good. Yes, I will likely bring a refillable water bottle with a charcoal filter to remove any chlorine from the ship water. My questions are:

(1). When on board, should I chose to purchase single bottle of water, do they sell 12 oz or 1 liter bottles and what do they cost?

(2). There is a water beverage package of 1 liter bottles listed starting at $39 adult for 12 bottles. Is this like the other beverage packages where both adults in a room are required to purchase a package or can we purchase only one for our cabin.

Who knew water could be so complicated. 😏. Thanks
