  1. My spouse and I are of the age, "wearing nothing but a smile" (for either one of us) would put us off alcohol forever. But thanks for the suggestion.
  2. Depending upon where you are anchored or tied-up, one's balcony could be in full sun all day. Also, I'm not being offered foo-foo umbrella drinks on my balcony. Maybe they could start taking and delivering drink orders via drone for those passengers forced to use their balcony.😃
  3. If you really enjoy kayaking and the exercise, then "yes". You may go out one time and not see a whole lot of wildlife. The next time could be that close encounter with a whale. You pays your money, you take your chances. If it is something you have never done and just want to try it, perhaps once would be enough.
  4. They are Bogs. I usually wear a ladies 7, but in the Bogs, I needed a ladies 6 worn with just one pair of sports ankle socks.
  5. My itinerary shows 3 hours, from cast off to tie-up.
  6. Both times we were in Stanley, the shore excursions were not included. You go in by tender, not zodiac. Other stops in the Falklands, if you have them, are by zodiac and are included. As to whether or not to book more than one kayak trip, I still say, "Yes". People who are booked on a certain day, get priority - those who have been cancelled from a previous day are "worked" in if there is room. I guess it depends on how full the ship is because when we were on the Venture, some people never got to go out on a kayak, as they were fully booked each day.
  7. Those special events are made obvious to everyone (because there are those who book them), but I have never experienced hard sell with anything - including wine upsells. The only hard sell I've ever had on Seabourn was at the Spa to buy products. I've not been back to a Seabourn Spa since - a shame - as they lost a customer.
  8. I would book more than once, as conditions have to be perfect to go out. The expedition team is very cautious. I have been to Antarctica twice with Seabourn and both times, kayak tours were cancelled due to wind or sea conditions. The only place you will have a shore excursion to book is in Stanley, or if you are doing any stops in Argentina. The zodiac excursions are included.
  9. The food is good. Portions too large. The menu is a jumbled mess. It needs to be pared down or rearranged. I found it very odd.
  10. I was referring to a public bus. That is quite different from a Regent arranged bus.
  11. Taking the included Regent transfer by bus is a much different experience then taking a public shuttle or bus. I've also had Regent transfers by car if we were the only couple on a flight. When I book my own transfer, it is always by private car with driver. I don't consider that "real luxury", just convenience and comfort.
  12. Geez - the first thing I think of doing while booking a luxury vacation is schlepping luggage on a bus.
  13. Wow - that post was from a long time ago, but thank you so much for answering my question. Now I know.

    SS/SB

You are correct - it is suggested attire. I suppose as with many other things in life, there is an implied social contract with suggested attire.

    SS/SB

We were on the SB Quest in Jan/Feb this year. One night a party of 4 came in to the dining room. Three were dressed appropriately - one was in jean shorts, T-shirt and tennis shoes. I had seen them earlier in the cruise where all were dressed as required. I don't know why this one particular night the one gentleman didn't dress appropriately - maybe his stuff didn't come back from the laundry. He should have made the decision to not come to the dining room, or Seabourn should have said, "No". However, he was seated with his companions. Personally, it didn't make my dinner any less enjoyable, but I am a stickler for rules. Don't have em if you ain't gonna follow em.
  16. Bring items you can layer. You will have some cool days and evenings.
  17. I believe that was covered in Accounting 101, but thanks for the reminder.
  18. Okay - you have very fortunate clients. I thought one time you said you do multi million dollars in sales each year for Regent. Sounded like you were a TA. My mistake -
  19. I know - I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek. With your position as CEO of a TA that sells Regent Cruises, you have a vested interest in not agreeing with posters who have been wronged by them. It seems you should be using your clout to help correct the wrongs, not help Regent excuse the wrongs.
  20. It's not easy to have 10X more life experiences with only 5X as much pay while working remotely. Where did you get your figures? I think I would like that job.
  21. A lack of empathy leads to a lack of understanding.
  22. By all means, hold on if you want to, but it doesn't require strong arms or hands.
