  1. Navy Veteran: Thank you for your service
  2. what exactly is in the complimentary mini bar set up?
  3. Just talked to gal at Princess and she said it was still too early to book tours. She suggested checking back in a few days. Maybe this was caused by the change of ships. I'll keep you posted when I am able to book.
  4. Thanks for all your help. I'll try to call this morning and let you know what I find out. Mickeyandlv: I hope you get the Normandy tour. My husband and I were on this cruise a few years ago and we did the tour. He was a retired Marine and it was very emotional for both of us.
  5. Credit card has been entered and ok'd. Cruise is far out. June 2023. So maybe too far out. Just want to book a couple of tours early so we don't miss out. Thanks
  6. When I go in to book a tour I hit the time I want, click on my name, click on book and then in red it has "a errors". What am I doing wrong? Or is it too early for me to book tours? Also most tours say 20 people. Is that all that will be on the tour? I've been on lots of Princess cruises and don't remember all these problems and/or questions. Don't like to be a pest, but I need to let the people traveling with me know what they will be dealing with.
  7. 4 ft 6 in appears to be queen size here in the states. So I'm assuming they will be at least queen size. But some people say they got a king. Guess it's the luck of the draw. Whatever it is we'll be staying there for one night. Problem solved.
  8. John Bull: You are a big help. I can always depend on you for good information. I can't thank you enough. Whatever size the bed is it will have to do. After all it's only for one night.
  9. I'm booked on British Isles cruise in June on Princess. I read the reviews but take them with a grain of salt. Each person has their own particular likes and dislikes. You can look at one review and the food is terrible, then look at another and it's great. It's the same with cabins, entertainment, crew, etc. As long as I don't have to cook or clean and I'm fine. Just find a cruise with an itinerary you would like at a price you can afford and go for it.
  10. Thanks for telling me that. I was really concerned that I wouldn't be able to contact them if needed. Slow but sure I'm getting everything done. Our cruise isn't until June 23, but I want to get some of the reservations taken care of before they might go up. The hotel looks like a good one and it's near the cruise port. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but I booked Premier Inn Southampton for the British Isles cruise. Thanks again to all of you for your help.
  11. I just booked. Finally discovered what they needed for the address. Bunnyette: The only e-mail address I see on the "booking confirmed" e-mail seems to be for the restaurant. If you got another one I would appreciate it. That's what I'm uncomfortable with ---- there doesn't seem to be any way to contact them. I sure don't want to make an international call.
  12. I'm looking at Premier Inn West Quay as that is near the port and near shops for wine and restaurants. I'm just concerned when it says "double" room or bed. I would hope it would be a queen or king, because my son and son in law are big men.
  13. I'll try putting their postal code in.. It won't allow to leave it blank. Another question about hotel. When looking up the rooms for 2 it says "double". Does this mean double beds? I don't see where it says queen or king beds as an option. Only phone number is a UK number. Don't want to get involved with that.
  14. I must be doing something wrong but I don't know what it is. I'm trying to book on their website. When I get down to the postal code I put in my zip code and it keeps telling me it's an invalid code. What are they looking for??? I put in the zip code for my area. I don't know what code they want. HELP
  15. I found where to order it. Thanks. I do remember to take an extension cord. I keep one with my travel things. Never know when you might need one. in a hotel or on ships.
  16. On previous cruises with Princess I could order free distilled water for my C pap machine. It would be in my cabin on arrival. Is that service still available? And if so where do I go on my booking to order it?
  17. I owe him a BIG apology. He call me this evening with all the information I needed. He was as nice as he could be. VERY helpful. I feel terrible for being so impatient. He did a lot of work and all is well. He is definitely one of the good ones.
  18. Obviously some are good and some not so good. Guess I got a not so good one. I sent another e-mail to him awhile ago asking what the hold up was and still no answer. Maybe I'm too impatient but I'm tired of waiting. And I sure don't want to see the prices go up on 3 cabins that I'm paying for. I just want to take my son and his wife and daughter and her husband on this trip and be able to see them having a good time cruising.
  19. My family is very caring and helpful. They know they will have to help with luggage, etc. Since I'm the most experienced traveler they will be depending on me for all the planning and guidance along the way. So helping each other will be a two way street. I do have some medical issues but have traveled before with them. But I will say I'm definitely slowing down. I have been on this same cruise a few years ago so if I choose to skip some of the ports that's no big deal. My wish is to see them enjoy the cruise while I'm still around and able to travel. They will be memories for them as well as for me.
  20. Over the years I've always dealt with a TA, but the one I had just recently retired. So I thought I would try a Princess Vacation Planner. Princess assigned one to me, he sent me a text introducing himself and I called him about a cruise for 3 cabins. He indicated he would need more info about the trip (which I understand). And he would prefer it to be sent by e-mail rather than a phone call. So I sent him an e-mail with all the pertinent information and stating if he need more information to let me know and then provide me with prices. This e-mail was sent 24 hours ago and I still haven't heard a word from him. Am I being unreasonable to expect some sort of answer from him? Isn't one full day enough time for him to respond?
  21. Has anyone had any experience with AIG insurance?
  22. I plan on requesting wheelchairs at the airports. Mainly because there are long walks to airside. My family will be with me to take care of the carryons. They also will have a list of my medications. Also, very important I plan on getting the best travel insurance with high coverage. (just in case). If I fly Delta I plan on paying extra for premium seating which would give me more room. Califsealion: I know how you feel about that last trip with your mother. I was in the same position with my husband on our last cruise together. I was afraid to leave him for fear something would happen. But the upside to that. It was our last trip together and we had many good memories that will always be with me.
  23. I will be 86 next year. Would like to take a cruise to the Med or British Isles with my son, daughter and their spouses. i've been seriously thinking of taking them on one of the cruises. But now I'm having second thoughts. Am I too old for this type of cruise? I've been to all of these ports with my husband who has since passed. I don't think I would be too much of a burden to the family, but would need help with luggage, getting on and off the ship. Other than that they could pretty much do as they choose. If I wanted I would stay on the ship at some ports. Physically I'm in pretty good shape - don't use a wheelchair or walker but I'm a lot slower than I used to be. What do you think. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Lynn
