There is no hotel near Pier 91 which is where you will sail out of. The closest hotel to Pier 91 is right across the street from Pier 66 (figures, doesn't it? :o) which is the Edgewater Hotel. Here's their website:

I was booked on the 3/30 sailing and didn't re-book since none of the dates offered were good for all of us. Thank goodness, I don't want to go through that again. Hopefully this is a gliche but if not, good luck to everyone.

Agree Merion Mom. This type of post is very frustrating especially for those, like myself, whose cruise was cancelled and was unable to re-book because the options didn't work for my party. If, as someone has posted, the reason is out there already, then why can't it be told here? Or give a link to where they've said "it's out there".

The real reason is out there and slowly being shared…but it has yet to hit Cruise Critic. When it does the reason will generate a very heated thread.

 

On one of the earliest posts "ScottyG" gave a huge hint however most people missed it or misinterpreted it.

 

You, Dave, are wise not to state it on this board.

If it's out there why can't it be shared here? Any other hint on how to "google" the reason?

Starting to get nervous since I'm sailing on 3/30. According to VesselFinder the ship hasn't left Cadiz yet & I thought it was to start its journey to Miami on 3/17. How much time does it take to get the ship to Miami? I really need this vacation.

Just a reminder that if you do board the ship early you won't be able to get to your stateroom until 1 or 2 PM. So you'll have to carry your carry-ons until then. You may want to pack a bathing suit in your carry on if you want to take advantage of an empty pool area.

So when does she need to leave Spain to arrive in Miami in time?

I asked that question earlier & the response was she's set to begin her journey to Miami tomorrow, the 17th. Let's hope so.

What would be done about the people's flights who fly in from all over the country/world to go on these cruises that are now only a couple of weeks away?? Nothing I bet.

 

What about the people who need to request vacation from work months sometimes a year in advance? That would be a complete pr nightmare for them in a time where they definitely don't want any more bad pr. I can't see it happening.

 

It's literally 14 days away for some people. Wouldn't be good. One maybe two sailings I could see but not an entire extra month.

It's why I always get travel insurance. Patticakes who is traveling with me. Checked other cruises in the FLL & Miami areas & many of them are sold out too? Is it possible RCCL would try to move people to the other cruises??

I just got a call from Gary from RCCL. He said he was calling to wish me a Bon voyage. I asked about our concerns regarding the Sold Out but he said everything was on schedule. Don't know if the call was made because Royal was getting calls about a possible cancelation? Is this the norm? I usually book through an online TA but this time I booked through RCCL. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

I'm sailing the Empress on 3/30, the "inaugural" sailing & noticed that on RCCL is says it's Sold Out. But I also noticed that the 4 sailings after (4/4, 4/7, 4/11 & 4/16) are also Sold Out. Is this weird? Should I be concerned that the refurbishing won't be complete by 3/30???

I was on the Adventure OTS a couple of weeks ago. They offered the following beverage package discounts.

Diamond 20%

Diamond+ 30%

Pinnacle. 40%

 

They were really pushing the beverage packages. Also offered a 10 drink punch card starting on Day 4 of the cruise for $89.95 plus gratuities. I used my OBC and paid for drinks individually. I don't drink enough to make a plan worth my while.
