  1. You definitely will not look like a plain Jane! I think fake eyelashes can look beyond ridiculous. Some ladies can go overboard on the length. Eyelash extensions can look very pretty and natural if applied by the right professional. But fake eyelashes are the latest trend.

Another trend that annoys me is contouring. Don't get me a wrong - a subtle contour can be very pretty. But as with anything, some go crazy with the wrong colors, harsh lines, and drastic contour. Both eyelashes and strong contouring can easily make a woman like she is a drag queen.:cool:

  2. I will admit this - before my last cruise, I base tanned. I know, I know, very bad! I am an RN and I should know better! During the cruise, hubby and I applied store brand SPF 30 sunscreen lotion before going outside and reapplied 2 hours later. When in port, we reapplied with spray sunscreen to our bodies and lotion to the face (personal preference). Both of us are pasty pale and neither of us burned. I had one little spot that turned pinkish, but no burning.

  3. As a cancer survivor, I beg everyone, please use sunblock (with a high SPF number, not a low number). Wear a hat, and drink lots of water.

The US no longer allows the words sunblock or waterproof. Only sunscreen and water resistant.

  4. I love ELF. I use the Studio line brushes. For $3, they have held up very well, rarely shed, and do exactly what I need them to do. The mascara primer is my absolute favorite product. It lengthens my lashes like no other product.

  5. If your ship has a laundry room, I'd go with that. I found travel packs of Tide detergent that I brought with us, along with dryer sheets. I also brought travel packs of Shout for stains. Laundry was $3 per machine, but much cheaper than sending it out for service.

  6. Before applying makeup, try using a green tinted foundation primer. Green counteracts redand helps to reduce the appearance of redness. I like ELF's green primer. It's $3, but works very well. L'oreal and Smashbox also make really good green primers.
