  1. Seems harsh you seem to have had a benefit refused from what was clearly the perk at the time you cruised.

I am awaiting the announcement, but I for one will be really annoyed if this perk has been reduced as we were banking on having two bags on our March trip as I have to leave from the cruise on a business trip for a further three weeks so will have to have everything laundered before I leave.

However, lets see what Azamara Joel has to say.....................today............maybe .....................................

  2. Some update information is on the Azamara pages, but I am assuming it is wrong

    http://www.azamaraclubcruises.com/club-azamara/le-club-voyage/membership-benefits

We certainly had one bag of laundry per person, not per stateroom. These benefits look very similar to what always existed although I do not remember the events restriction only being to longer cruises

Lets hope this is work in progress and not the final answer :)

  3. Does anyone know the cost from the hotel area in Shanghai to the airport? Also if my flight leaves at 5:10 p.m. what time should I leave the hotel? Would 2:00 be enough time?

Are there taxi's at the cruise terminal in Shanghai to take you to your hotel? What will the cost of those be?

    We are 3 adults.

You need to allow quite a bit of time for check in and security checks. Traffic out to the airport can really back up, well it was last week. If you are in an international flight I would leave no later that 1330 and possibly earlier

  4. In Shanghai and Beijing this last month on business, the smog /pollution is the worst I have known it. It seems to be getting worse year on year. If you have breathing difficulties, it may well affect you quite a bit

  5. If it makes no odds to you whether you hand over your coupons or your card why bother? The guy did not double charge the card from what you said. Personally if I had an issue, I think it's only right you raise it with the individual first - after all the confusion may be language based. I'd hate to think some poor person got reassigned and is potentially facing no contract renewal if I had raised a relatively trivial matter with a manager.

  6. Personally I am glad there is to be no more hardware for a period. IMHO, attention has been too focused on trying to staff and roll out new ships and this has contributed to some of the oft reported issues on these boards.

Celebrity needs to settle down and concentrate on the software, the quality of the onboard experience, food, entertainment etc.

Post recession all the research is pointing to a consumer focused on quality not quantity.

And I say that as a shareholder as well as a cruiser

  7. Is there any way to know last tender time to ship on MAR. 29? We are scheduled to depart Bali at 6pm. What time does first tender leave the ship on 2nd day, March 29?

If you are not docked, the tenders still run all night, believe you me, they are very busy with crew having some time ashore, some snatching a few hours with their families

  8. Not sure what we'll have to do on the B2B cruise. I'm hoping we can just stay on the ship. I'd rather not have to leave and we saw pretty much everything in Rome last year, including the Vatican City.

I was planning on just staying on and doing laundry in the morning and then just relaxing until we sail away.

I woudl imagine we'll have to take part in the muster drill again....ugh!

Yes, just as regular fliers have to listen to the safety briefing, you must go to the drill, it's no big deal

  9. We are on board for the quarter-finals week of the World Cup (So England will be out by then...) but DH is trying to calculate the time difference between Brazil and Croatia...

And if my DH gets up at an ungodly hour on that cruise to watch a game I demand Azamara finds a bespoke plank for him to walk

  10. On Quest in Vietnam we had a morning party also watched it on Journey day after coming through the Panama Canal in 2011 as I recall I had to say go steelers not that I understood if I was encouraging thieves or whatever. Each time great decorations and food served

I remember exchanges with Bill last year,my first ever visit to the US was to San Francisco in 1995. I had no idea what the Super Bowl was or who a 49 was, I was only in the US for four days but boy did I learn fast and experience a ticket tape street party - what a night that was. I know Bill so much hoped for a victory last year, wonder who he is cheering on up there this year

  11. We were on the Millenium at New Year. There was some fine print in the brochure on board, that said up to the value of about $150 a day. This surprised us. We got up there on a couple of days but we just made sure to use both cards efficiently.

.$150 a day per person - maybe a limit they have if they fear the person has over consumed - that is at least 12 martinis after all

  12. We are sailing on Quest in a few weeks. Our son has given us the gift of an evening's dining in a specialty restaurant.

I've read here about the special country-theme evenings at the buffet and the White Night barbecue. I am wondering if the ship provides a schedule of the special buffet offerings and when the White Night will be held so we can make our dining reservation early.

Can any past Quest sailors have the answer or any suggestions?

The ship provides a schedule both of the buffet themes but also the entertainment during boarding, though it is often placed in your room rather than handed out in the terminal. If you do not have a copy by the time you want to make the reservation, the maître d will have a copy. There are also usually copies in the stand by the right hand entrance to Windows Cafe on Deck 10 - enjoy

  13. Hi Sue. I've become disenchanted with Murano and the like over recent cruises. I just feel they are more about the "show" and less about the quality.".....What I really don't like about the Specialties now though is the attitude of the staff. On many occasions it just appears a bit arrogant, like "aren't we great?" rather than "I hope you enjoy your evening, how can we help?". Once you add in the extras they are pretty expensive now too.

    Phil

Spot on Phil, I also have got bored with the food, it's not that innovative. A meal in the MDR on Azamara is ten times better than Murano. Tuscan has the best food but even that's getting "Samey" and of course in Summit it's not an option

  14. Ok I do not know

    1. If it is also on the US and other sites

    2. If it has been there and reported about for some time (I am on a long business trip in the Far East and this is my first down day since early January)

    3. If it is accurate or not

But it is lovely to see the tab for guest lecturers on the site and to be able to follow it through to see who they will be on my future cruises.

You find the information when you search for a cruise as a plan and book option, there is a lot of info there now that did not used to show - certainly an enhancement that shows web info is moving in the right direction, thank you!

  15. I saw on the other thread that Desert Steve had received his documents showing he was Dicoverer Plus. As we are elite plus I assumed we too would be at that tier but the documents sent electronically to us this morning show us as being discoverer. Desert Steve would seem to be sailing at the end of this month, we sail in early March so the explanation that it is trips after 31 Jan does not explain it.

I am currently abroad on business in a time zone that does not align with calling the UK and no desire to rack up costs calling the US. Although the perks do not really bother me, I would prefer the paperwork to be correct. Oh well another thing to add to the to do list when I get home.

Upcoming cruisers might like to check their docs and share their experiences.

  16. Hi everyone,

We are very sorry for the delay in the Le Club Voyage email. We had intended to send it out on January 15th, but instead we will be sending it out on January 31st. We know that our communications are not up to our standards, or yours. Again, we are very sorry for the delay.

Thank you again for all your comments and feedback, we do appreciate it.

    Thank you,

    Signe Bjorndal

    Director of Global Marketing

    Azamara Club Cruises

Thank you Joel, your update is very helpful

Our experience with mail outs is less than positive (never received several in the past, most recently the info on the Captains Club changes)

Could I suggest you come onto these boards and start a new thread so we quickly can spot it and discover what is planned - maybe you were already planning to do this already
