  3. Aloschi are the agents they use throughout Italy, certainly reputable but VERY expensive
  4. You could not make this up. My travel agent just got this email at the bottom - identical to what we got on 30/March which they then said was an error - So where are we getting off. Travel agent told by AQ in writing on 8th April it was an error we are disembarking in Chicago (I have a copy of that email) I was told by online chat on 10th April as below I checked our schedule and stops and on the day you disembark it tell me that you are disembarking in Chicago not Milwaukee. Let me double check one more area. One moment please( 19m 18s ) me: thanks( 22m 42s ) Rubi 😄 Okay i double checked and still show Chicago not Milwaukee. I am beyond head banging.......   5. In the UK not had anything from these two lines for years. I have agency pamphlets promoting only their cruises but that is it. I am glad Azamara does not waste funds on chunky books that end up in landfill in 95% of instances Pursuit was R8
  6. Thanks, the train would certainly be a nice idea. However, having done all the maths and thought about the additional taxi fares, redcaps etc we probably would just use the cruise line transfer if we do arrive in Milwaukee - my travel agent is going mad, they get a different answer depending on who they speak. Either the website is wrong or 50% of the agents they speak to are wrong....... or both 🙂 I wish the official source would come here and give a definitive answer for 18th May departure from Toronto

  8. Azamara do not send out hard copy brochures once you book a cruise, in fact I am not even sure they now have a hard copy document- I have not seen on in the UK for a few years now
  9. I have had flowers onboard on many trips - they are usually very beautiful local arrangements. The only thing, but I’m sure your daughter will notice this, the stateroom staff don’t change their water each day . It’s an easy thing though to do yourself Congratulations to the happy couple and best wishes

    Stable --- maybe; Secure---- can you be sure whilst they are fiddling around so much with code? Sorry, data hacks of passport numbers can have horrendous consequences so I will leave mine off the migrated system until it settles down or I reach a point I need to give them the information. No need to rush and risk

    Certainly wouldn’t add that detail whilst the site is unstable. I tend to do it when I’m doing online checkin as 8/10 have to redo things anyway at that time. For now I’d leave well alone and my excursions can wait until they say it’s ready for use. Alternatively if you know there’s a place you want independent you just have to bite that bullet as there’s a far fewer independents around now.

    Luggage Labels

    They have not sent them out for sometime now, if they’re not in the guest booklet or you did not receive a booklet they won’t be sending anything out and you will be getting them at the pier. The staff will know that no one has labels and it will be very well organised to put on the labels you need. Certainly that’s what recent embarkations are saying. No one has reported any problems by turning up with your luggage labels.

    I think if you sail in the next month being more proactive is reasonable it’s the late summer onwards cruisers who need to stop fiddling around doing things that impact their booking or calling about points or invoicing

    Hope you have a wonderful cruise. What a great attitude! Why is everyone checking every day and trying to book evenings etc if they’ve not got a cruise in the next month? If I was Azamara I’d lock down everything sailing from June onwards, fix a month then release it…. They’ve probably got multiple forms in from some folks further confusing the position. I’ve got some Autumn cruises, they’re all wrong, Im sure they’d sort out eventually though I’m probably for family reasons cancelling them but we are leaving that action until this settles down a bit rather than add more work to an overwhelmed team.
  15. Depends what time you land and how prepared you are to wait. Twice had dreadful lines so lately we don’t take the risk prebooked with Welcome pickups when in Venice. They go to Chioggia it’s approx $100 with them.
  16. I would pay the call charge and argue with the cruise line afterward. It is probably a small price to pay when thinking of the comfort of your mother

    If you log into the website, then click on your profile I get a menu on the left side of the page that lets you set communication preferences separated into two types, marketing and loyalty so you can opt for either or both. Bizarrely I was getting emails and then last week I checked our preferences and reconfirmed them (no changes)and now nothing (not even in our junk mail) Oh well, it can wait I am sure there are much bigger issues!!
  18. Given Explora Journeys which does not commence passenger sailings until 17 July has finished its sea trials Viking seems to be cutting this one quite close to the wire - or maybe they are supremely confident the trials will go without a hitch based on past experience

    The cruise line would deal with that if there were issues with the port authority. A copy of the manifest is all the police need
  21. We did Sintra on our own, it is a very easy rail connection with frequent trains from the station in the centre of town.

    I suspect for now, the lawyers will be managing the wording as there are bound to be repercussions from this saga and they won’t want to prejudice that. However maybe regular updates would be good eg every Thursday they share progress.

    We did not and we have a number of live bookings. We were getting emails up to now, looks like we’ve fallen off AGAIN 😡
