For some reason our cabin decided to turn itself into a fridge last night. We have it turned up to the warmest setting but it's only 17.9C in the cabin. We've had problems with it from Cairns onwards, firstly too hot (28C) on the coldest setting, now too cold. It's obviously linked to the outside air temps but is not providing relief from the extremes like air-con should.

We have been advised that we will be stopping in Busselton on Sunday but missing Albany. We will still be following the storm over the Bight though. Those who want to go ashore in Busselton have to do another RAT that day. They are talking about compensation for missed ports but haven't said exactly what yet.

They could have post-pandemic staffing issues. But in the original article it stated the shuttle fee was in USD which means they were probably organised by Celebrity and charged to passenger's onboard accounts.

I think they may have dropped the mask mandate on Majestic but sensibly kept it in place on Coral since it's a long cruise. Yes, mask wearing was certainly better than the latter half of the 26th June cruise we were on, at least in the first few days of the cruise. It did slacken off a bit from Cairns onward but improved again after Darwin which is when tables started appearing in front of cabin doors.

No but BulldustHHH stated there would be a lot of false positives if/when all passengers had to take RATs. Positive should definitely mean iso but those without symptoms should be allowed to get a PCR test in case the RAT was a false positive. And, of course, anyone with symptoms has to isolate for 24 hours even if their first PCR test is negative which is what happened to me. Err on the side of caution to minimize the risk.

But Frank had symptoms, didn't he? If someone tested positive on a RAT but didn't have symptoms they might retest with a PCR test. Those people would probably demand to be retested anyway. Personally I'd prefer they erred on the side of caution. Better to have a few people who don't have Covid inconvenienced for a day or so than have Covid spreading throughout the ship as it has done on this cruise. I certainly would have preferred that all those people coughing in the theatre, lounges, bars and MDR were isolated. Then I might not have caught Covid.

The mask mandate was not dropped on this cruise. The majority of passengers, plus all the crew, have been wearing masks when moving around the ship and in the theatre. But, of course, there are always some who think the rules don't apply to them, and others who apparently never breathe through their noses. There are even some people who seem to think they breathe through their chins! 🤔🙄😡
