  1. We have sailed on the Jade. It was a port intensive cruise. I’m more interested in where the ship is going than in the ship itself. For us, it was a good size, large enough for entertainment, but it didn’t have the feeling that we were dealing with huge crowds. I haven’t been on any of NCL’s large ships, but when I was on larger ships on other lines I didn’t care for the larger size. As for the elevators, I try to avoid taking them since walking up and down the stairs adds a little exercise to my day, ha, ha.

  2. Just went online to find out more about Viva Vino and didn’t see much. Is this something available for purchase when onboard? The price per bottle seems reasonable for on a cruise ship. Can this wine be consumed in any dining room? If half a bottle consumed, do they save the other half for another meal for you?

  3. We had an interior on Deck 2. Don’t remember the cabin number but it was at the back of the ship it was very small. The bed had to be against the wall...no room for walk space on both sides. Definitely the smallest cabin I have had. Even so, we had a great cruise...don’t spend much time in the cabin.

  4. We have sailed on both Carnival and Princess. Princess definitely skewed older. Now the Carnival cruises were 7 days and the Princess was 10 days which probably contributes to an older crowd. We also took a Royal Caribbean transatlantic and even that was not as old a crowd as the Princess. Also, I did not feel that Princess was upscale compared to the other two lines.

That said, I had a great time on all of the cruises. Just be prepared to see a lot of gray hair when you walk into the dining room. I wasn’t expecting the cruise to skew as old as it did.

  5. I have searched leaving from Kentucky and leaving from Florida. Economy class tickets. I don’t want to spend as much for the airfare as I do for the cruise.

  6. Okay, I haven't read the entire thread...just the first thirty or so posts, but this would definitely cause me to avoid Carnival. I have enjoyed Carnival and liked the fact that it skews younger. However for pool and hot tub time I exclusively used the Serenity area. I believe Carnival is making a mistake here.
