Hi There Anyone who sailed on the delayed Ce;ebrity Millenium cruise due 12th October but sailed 14th October due to typhoon. Celebrity have offered a refund for the loss of 2 nights at 60% of the actual cruise fare paid citing that they only offer credits based on a Basic Cruise Fare which in my opinion is a way of not paying out what is due. They also offered a 50% future cruise credit again based on this unknown Basic Cruise Fare which in my case is 60% of the actual fare paid.
If anyone out there is also unhappy with these unfair and unacceptable offers please let me know.
I will be also be writing a review of this cruise and in particular the ship and this was the worst cruise ever

The cruise was delayed, not cancelled. You are actually not entitled to any compensation...
The Standard Cruise Contract says in Para 6
6. CANCELLATION, DEVIATION OR SUBSTITUTION BY CARRIER:
a) Carrier may for any reason at any time and without prior notice, cancel, advance, postpone or deviate from any scheduled sailing, port of call, destination, lodging or any activity on or off the Vessel, or substitute another vessel or port of call, destination, lodging or activity. Except as provided in Section 6(e) below, Carrier shall not be liable for any claim whatsoever by Passenger, including but not limited to loss, compensation or refund, by reason of such cancellation, advancement, postponement, substitution or deviation.
e) In the event that a Cruise (or the cruise component of a CruiseTour) is canceled or terminated early due to mechanical failures:
i) Passenger shall have a right to a full refund of the Cruise Fare if the Cruise is canceled in full, or a partial refund if the cruise is terminated early;
ii) Carrier may cover or reimburse Passenger for additional costs (e.g. airline change fees) as deemed appropriate by the Carrier .
iii) If the passenger has travelled to the Vessel Passenger shall have a right to transportation (by means selected by the Carrier to the Vessel’s scheduled port of disembarkation or the Passenger’s home city; and
iv) Passenger shall have a right to lodging (selected by the Cruise Line) if disembarkation and an overnight stay in an unscheduled port are required due to the Cruise or cruise component of a CruiseTour being cancelled or terminated early because of such mechanical failures.- 5

We were in 9618 (outermost hump) in July... Loved it... No Noise problems.

I've always liked staterooms on Decks 7 and 8... Mainly because decks 6 and 9 are also all staterooms and there should be no noise issues like being above deck 5 or below deck 10....
Lifeboats on deck 5 should not be any problem with views...
We have cabin 8032 booked for the 2020 Reunion Cruise: Maine and Canada departing Cape Liberty 5/28/2020... Looking forward to it...

Chocolate Martini
Espresso Bean Martini
Black Forrest Martini
Brandy Alexander (Equal Parts Cognac, Dark Creme De Cacao, Heavy Cream shaken and served in Martini Glass with a sprinkle of Nutmeg).
Etc. Etc. Etc....

There’s a huge difference in scale.....Celebrity has ten ships, how many doesRoyal have? Royal can more easily spend the big money, and would have more ships to take advantage of a private island
Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., which owns Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises, assumed the lease of the island upon acquisition of Admiral Cruises[3] and renamed it Coco Cay, one of the first cruise lines to lease islands for their exclusive use....

Sue & I have been on Cruises that included New Years Eve and Day, Two NYE Cruises on Enchantment in 2013 & 2014 and a 10 Nighter on Serenade that included Chrismas and NYE....
2013 NYE just after leaving CoCo Cay on way to Nassau. New Years Eve Party on the ship was incredible. Two Rock Bands in the centrum, Latin group in Boleros, Piano Soloist in the Schooner Bar and the Ships Orchestra doing big band music in the Spotlight Lounge. They had the Viking Crown closed until 12:30am for the first party of the New Year that went from 12:30am until... There was a Midnight Buffet on the pool deck and it seemed every waitstaff member brought out trays of champagne about 11:45pm..
We had such a great time we did it again in 2014.
This time we were in Nassau on NYE, Left port about 10:30pm and anchored off the coast and watched all the different fireworks displays from Nassau (the biggest was from Atlantis) along with celebrations in every lounge of the ship and unlimited champagne from about 11:45pm onward.
2015 Ten nights on Serenade over Christmas & New Years, Again a great party on NYE...
You can not beat a cruise for NYE... Start partying whenever you want, go as long as you want, plenty of entertainment choices, no drive home, just a short journey back to your stateroom.
We are booked on the 2019/20 Mariner NYE cruise.

They were not Royal Caribbean Passengers, They were future Passengers.. Visitors to Italy, they were.
It was an unfortunate incident...
Add this to another reason to get trip insurance... Hope they had it covered.

From the National Weather Service, 8/26 6:56AM Eastern TIme.
As of the now, the NHC forecasts Dorian to be a tropical depression as it moves through the Bahamas late this week, but that forecast is subject to change.

Just out of curiousity. Where did you get the image for your signature? I like it!
I used the Diamond Logo from Royal Caribbeans Site, and the mail part of the logo from a website Cruise-Ships.com (their timeline does not work anymore). I put it all in microsoft publisher, update the numbers after each cruise and snip it as a graphic and upload...

Thank You For The Nice Review...
The 3 & 4 Day Venues from Pt. Canaveral are one of our favorites. We've sailed there on the Sovereign, Majesty, Monarch & Enchantment a total of about 29 times.
We have not sailed the Mariner since 2008 and we are looking forward to our 4 Night cruise coming up on July 22...
Again, Thanks for the Review

Can a 20 year old from the UK drink on a RCCL sailing from USA?
A hard question to answer....
A 20 year old can drink any non-alcoholic beverage anytime/anywhere....
A 20 year old sailing RCL from a US Port may not drink alcoholic beverages on the ship.
A 20 year old might be able to drink ashore in a port depending on that country's laws...
The country where he is from does not affect the answer...

What's the difference between seltzer, sparkling water, club soda and tonic water?
They’re all fizzy, refreshing and fun to drink, but is there any real difference between sparkling water, seltzer, club soda and tonic water? Lots of us choose these sparkling drinks as a healthier alternative to soda, but one recent study found that they may actually make you hungrier. That's enough to burst anyone's bubble. Let's take a closer look at these sparkling sips.
At its most basic, seltzer is simply plain water that has had carbonation added to it. It does not contain added salt, so it is sodium-free. Seltzer may also be naturally or artificially flavored.
You should be able to by it by the bottle or can at your dining table. Just let your waiter know when you are seated and they will make sure the right person takes your order...

First five days are probably at sea, heading south. Do you want to see the sunrise or sunset... Port for sunrises, Starboard for sunsets.
You usually arrive in port early and do not leave until the evenings... (Either Side)

Oasis Refurb
in Royal Caribbean International

Captain William S. Wright brought the Oasis from Turku, Finland. While exiting the Baltic Sea, the vessel passed underneath the Great Belt Fixed Link in Denmark. The passage under the bridge was possible due to retraction of the telescoping funnels, and an additional 30 cm (12 in) was gained by the squat effect whereby vessels traveling at speed in a shallow channel will be drawn deeper into the water. Approaching the bridge at 23 knots (43 km/h; 26 mph), the ship passed under it with less than 60 centimetres (2 ft) of clearance.
