I loved that deck on the Fantasy, I was in the rear and there is a small back staircase to the hot tubs, buffet, and lido deck in the very back. It is also quiet under the dinning room.

Saint John has Tin Can beach at the southern tip of the central peninsula. But not recommend for swimming just sunning and seeing the coast. On the east side there is Mispec Beach where most of the locals go, and on the west side there is Saints Rest by the Nature Park, or McLearens Beach on the same road. New River Beach or St Martin's also has beaches but are an hour outside the city. For freshwater swimming there is Rockwood Park, Dominion Park, or the Lakewood Resivior Park.

I liked the late setting myself as I travel solo and it was nice talking to the same people. It also let me do the hot tub at sunset.

I've heard that one before! We're flying in a day early - so so glad!;)
I have yet to travel to the USA and have my luggage the same day.

Is the pull down over the head or foot of the bed?
In E189 it was at the head of the bed, on the port-rear side of the cabin.

I was just asking in general.
I too didn't find any other options besides the airport so I wanted to put the question out there.
Besides the Avis there are 2 Enterprise Rent-a-Cars very near by Station St one is right across the street from Harbour Station and the other is on Crown St. The Avis is on Water St. next to Barbour's General Store. Most of the other companies are on Rothesay Ave.

On October 18 in St. martins the High tide is 2:12pm so earlier is better, If you want as impressive but a bit closer the Duck Pond Rd in Gardner's Creek has an equally impressive beach as St. Martin's and is on the way if you take the coastal route. The Fundy Trial is a little far. The Nature Park is also a good place and if you take the Sheldon's loop you will see the big cliffs of the coast line. There is also a nice view of the coast at the Cape Spencer lighthouse past Mispec.

I would have them contact or visit the nearest Canadian Embassy or consulate and get clearance http://can-am.gc.ca/offices-bureaux/index.aspx?lang=eng

Hopewell is a sandy to 1/4" pebble beach, It is not wet or muddy, sneakers/water shoes/crocs should be fine. Heals/wedges/thongs are not the best idea. There are a good number of stairs you don't want to trip on. Also keep in mind that Hopewell is about a 2hr drive from Saint John near Moncton.

Foggy days usually burn off by noon.

It will take you about an hour to get to St. Martins and by that time there would still be plenty of beach to walk on. St. Martin's is a better direction than Dipper Harbour\Chance Harbour\Lepreau area.

When I was on the Valor from San Juan we stayed in Atlantic time, although all the islands we went to were also Atlantic time.

I didn't need a heavy jacket just a light sweater. Although I'm used to Arctic temperature so I'm probably a bad judge.

It was about $40 on the Fantasy (and you get a hat and a lanyard, and a special gift from the galley) the lager the ship the larger the cost and the more items you get.

I had E189 in February, it is a great part of the ship. That back stairwell can be used by anyone, I found it great for going to the adult hottubs to watch the sunset and then quick access to the cabin to change and really close to the stairs to go up for late dining or the comedy club.

Does anyone have a link to a map that does the same thing for Canada?
New Brunswick (Saint John) is the same as south east Maine. We have not had a tropical storm yet so there are plenty of leaves left.

No, Saint John Transit charges $2.75 per ride and has a one paper transfer in the same direction system.
Most of "tourist/business/historic" Saint John is in a central peninsula there are a few places out side that that you may want to take the bus to.
1. Carlton Martello Tower (15 mins; #15 bus to (B) and from (A) uptown)
Walking Distance from here:
Assumption Church (right at the tower site)
King Sq. West and the Monument our first Mayor
Head west on Whipple St toward Fundy Dr (140 m)
Turn right onto Fundy Dr (190 m)
Continue onto Charlotte St W (350 m)
Turn left onto Lancaster St Destination will be on the left (350 m)
Once here there is a bus stop for the #15A/B on Duke St West near the Nursing Home.
2. Reversing Falls/Rapids (5 mins; #1 or #7 (new run starting in May)) bus from town or #2 or #8 to town.)
(if going from 1. to 2. #15A to Lancaster Mall (our west shopping district) and transfer to the #2 or #8; for the reverse get on the #1 or #7 to Lancaster Mall and transfer to #15B)
3. Retail District (Thrift shops, box stores) (20 mins; #2 or #4 from town, or #1 or #3 back to town)
not to divert from the original questions (which i am also interested in....) but does the public transportation bus allow off and on boarding? i also saw something about a pink bus? i am not fond of doing tours with 3,908,367 of my closest friends on those buses. i find i can do a better job finding local tours on my own. any you would recommend? we'd rather walk around and also take a bus maybe to get an overview of the city. we like funky shops, antiques, goodwill store, thrift stores, etc. have many of those there? thanks...we are travelling in october. -
The bus stop is very easy to find from the Ship. Here is a link to a map with directions. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=zTD0WZxUd7dk.kDeZtwfobPyc

I recommend fixed time dining for solo travel. I had a table full of other solos in my age range on the Valor last Feb.
