Wonderful photos and so atmospheric with the mist and rain. Brought back lovely memories. Did you see and hear the 'siren' singing on the rail journey? That was so funny.

What a brilliant video. Thank you for posting the link.

Thank you so much Alsun for this wonderful thread. Your photos are superb, as are your descriptions which help me to relive a similar cruise a few years ago. It's my daily fix of Azamara and all builds the excitement of our upcoming cruise on Journey at the end of the month. Sorry that the weather has changed and you are now experiencing rain. Hope it's still warm though.

We too are considering our first Azamara cruise next year. The itinerary looks good which ticks a big box, but we are getting concerned about the cabin size, in particular the bathroom and specifically the shower. We're waiting for the first Pursuit reviews so any advice on this topic would be most welcome.
I know people say how small the shower is but we recently sailed on Sapphire Princess, in a standard balcony room, and the shower there was much smaller than Azamara showers. Maybe they are smaller than some other luxury lines but I have never had a problem at all.:)

Hi Robb
I know this is off topic but I just want to say that your strapline is brilliant and so topical for me as I am currently in the middle of a 'seven books in seven days' challenge and tomorrow's choice is The Kon Tiki Expedition by Thor Heyerdahl. The tale is, of course, how he built a balsa raft and sailed from Peru to Polynesia to prove a point! I shall be seeing the original Kon Tiki raft when we visit Oslo on Azamara Journey beginning next month.

It's great to keep looking back at your posts and reliving your cruise. I don't know who was most disappointed when it ended, you or me? Thank you again.

Really enjoying following your journey and especially loving your photos. Great to see some places where we've never been to before and where only smaller ship, like Azamara, can reach. Have you had any good guest lecturers on board?

It is access to the hot tub and deck. There are supposed to be a limited number sold to keep numbers down as some suites also have access. We have always bought one but noticed it was crowded on our last one. On an earlier thread I mused about whether people were using the area without paying resulting in the increased crowds.
Thank you for that, and also Phil's input. I guess as you both spend time there and buy a pass that you think it is worth it.

There wasnt a speaker on football.
One was great about Russ8an artifacts etc
Glad you enjoyed the speaker but sorry there wasn't one on football. Were you able to discover anything about the speakers before you sailed?

Can anyone tell me what the Cruise Thalasso Pass is please? Is it just access to the hot tub in front of the spa?
Thanks

Loved following your blog Corrine. Agree that a week is not long enough. At least you have some fabulous holidays still to look forward to. Have a good journey home.

That's great Lottie. Thank you. I had just done a 'Search' and that's how I found the info about your friends coming on board. Will do just what you suggest.

Thank you so much for the detail Corinne. Lovely to see Philip etc in the photo and yourselves!
Have fun.

In Monte Carlo today. Lovely weather...not too hot but pleasantly warm. It's change around day with all the new passengers coming onboard so the ship is busy.
We have moved cabins today and it was a painless procedure. Our cabin stewards did all the hard work for us.
We went to Italian buffet last night and it was just fabulous as usual. Then we danced in The Living Room for a while. There were some amazingly jiggly Brazilian ladies dancing there to the delight of all the men! 😄
Some friends came onboard from Oceania Marina, in port with us today and we had a lovely few hours with them. Other friends are boarding Quest today as well, so lots of fun will be had next week too.
Not intending to do anything much other than relax onboard today.
Lottie - Can you tell me how you can invite friends on board please and what the process is with AZ? I recall that Philip H invited us to have lunch on board Journey when she visited London but, after all, he is an officer. We arrive back in London a day before we disembark and it would be wonderful for our two sisters to come aboard for lunch or tea.
Thanks for any info.

Looking forward to boarding in the morning, thanks for all the appetite whetting Lottie.
I hope to do a Live From thread as I’ll have data on my phone when ashore.

We had a week on a Princess cruise at the beginning of May - 7 nights in a standard balcony room, plus drinks (bottle of wine each night with dinner, four other drinks in total each day), plus gratuities, amounted to £2,100 (£300 per day total for two of us).
Our upcoming cruise on Azamara Journey on August 30 - 11 nights in a guaranteed balcony room, including drinks and gratuities amounts to £3,338 (£303.45 per day total for two of us).
I know that we got a good deal on Azamara by watching for a price drop 12 weeks before sailing and that we don't yet know which balcony stateroom we will be allocated but I also know which line I'd rather sail on for just £3.45 per day more.

Have you checked out the Azamara Cabins thread which is a 'sticky' towards the top of the Azamara boards? The current spreadsheet regarding various features, including any noise issues, of individual staterooms is on page 26.
We have stayed twice in rooms on deck four and never had any noise issues at all (4020 and 4034).

Azamara is doing most everything right. Food, service, shore excursions are all very well done. The food is great and we really appreciate the creative extras like the tapas in the Living Room during cocktail hour. On the flip side, we prefer the brand new Viking Ocean ships and their larger (and quieter) cabins/bathrooms.
That's all great to hear, thank you. Glad you are having a good time. As we haven't sailed with Viking, we won't know any diference. Ignorance is sometimes bliss!
Have a lovely day.

I had trouble accessing my online check-in over several days last week and kept getting the same message as you. Managed it yesterday. At least we don't sail until the end of August, so not as critical for us. Think it is an intermittent problem with the Az website.
Hope you have a great cruise Cinnamon. We met on a Celebrity cruise out of Harwich, many years ago.

Hope you are having a wonderful day Lottie. All sounds delightful. Thank you for keeping us updated and allowing us to travel with you, by proxy, of course!

The slippers are good quality too. We recently did our first Princess Cruise and as they don't provide slippers, we took our Azamara ones. My husband wore his to a spa treatment and enjoyed extolling both their provision by Azamara and their quality, when the therapist noticed them. Looking forward to a new pair when we are on Journey on 30 August.
