  1. You must be from the midwest... yup, Indiana here!
  2. We loved it! The extra money it cost? We're on a vacation, we're not counting pennies.
  3. My condolences to you and your family. If it was me, I'd call carnival and let them know what has happened. That way when you show up for the cruise you'll know exactly what will happen and you won't have the stress of not knowing. My mom died the day before we were suppose to cruise yrs ago, we had to cancel everything and carnival was very supportive and helpful.
  4. If I push the login button, it won't work. BUT If I push my name at the top next to the login button it works.
  5. I think we've cruised spring break more than during the summer b/c I work for the schools. We've seen only a handful of rowdy/fighting kids or young adults. We figure it's all part of the cruise, they start acting up and we're there to watch!! Just part of the entertainment package!!
  6. About 7 /8yrs ago, we booked a aft balcony on NCL's Pearl to Alaska. In the middle of the night we were awaken by a really loud sound coming from our balcony, opened up the doors to find ice mixed in with lettuce/chips on our chairs and balcony floor!!!! We found out they were cleaning the deck on top of the ship and throwing the ice overboard!!!! Which was totally illegal, but they did it every night. We complained every day and to anyone we could find. They even sent chocolate strawberries and I explained to guest services that I didn't want strawberries, I wanted them to stop throwing ice off the back of the boat! Nothing was done about it, so we were done with them. I can't remember booking another cruise with them again.
  7. Thanks for the heads up!! Just purchased this for my cruise the end of March this am!
  8. We've booked a cove for march 2024 and we can't wait! It'll be our first time in a cove and from reading about everyones experiences it sounds like it's gonna be awesome!!!! We can't wait!!!!!
  9. We are pretty new at the cruising thing. We've only been on 7 cruises on Carnival and NCL. Things have changed since covid, the workforce isn't the same, we have to wait longer to purchase food onboard and even on land. We try to be more patient on those working to make us comfortable or feed us. I really didn't think the extra perks mattered, but we were just in a suite for the first time this past march and LOVED the priority boarding both going to shore and boarding for the cruise and getting off the cruise. But the other perks I don't think I'd even miss. I don't get too excited about the ship on a stick...or whatever it's called, I don't think id put it on display in my home. And the free bottle of water, the pin, the free laundry I can live without those too. I guess I don't see the point in getting all worked up over the water, pin and laundry. Now that 25 dollars from the casino?.... yea,, where do I go get that?????? 🤩
  10. I can't wait to read your reviews!! I'll be reading with envy b/c we can't do those long cruises yet.... but someday we'll retire and off we go!!!!
  11. Yes, we were there the end of march. I remember seeing a ship for sale, but I didn't even give it a second look, so guess that doesn't help much, sorry!
  12. We have been on carnival twice in the last 12 months. Once out of NO and once out of Baltimore. But both were 7 day cruises. We didn't see a fight or anything like that. On the Legend (and during spring break!) we did go up on lido during the late hrs, there were 2 security guards standing there watching the crowd of dancing younger adults and kids. Now, I'm sure there were more but we didn't see them. It seems that Carnival knows there is a problem and are dealing with it. We'll be cruising out of NO in 2 yrs on spring break, we'll see if having a 5 day cruise vs a 7 day on spring break makes a difference.
  13. I'm sure we saw kids coming out of the pool area later at night. So I'd assume they stay open later.
  14. They have the kind of coffee makers that just make one cup at a time. These have been in many hotels over the yrs. They supply you with a small coffee maker with coffee and paper cup supplied, no coffee pot to deal with.
  15. Sorry, wasn't me complaining. Maybe he read this forum?
  16. They were cute!! One was a beagle.... and then we saw a shepherd later. I have owned both, but the GSD owns us, she just allows us to live in her world. 😁
  17. That's what I kinda thought. It's got to be the money.
  18. Would smoking and curling irons cause the same fire hazard?
  19. Why oh why can't we have coffee makers on Carnival? NCL has them in their balconies and up and I'm sure they're not the only ones. It's not like they'd be losing money, coffee is free everyplace else on the ship. The scare of a fire?.. us women all have our curling irons and straight irons, so that can't be the reason. I'd even be ok to pay an upcharge for the coffee maker in the room!!! I just don't get why they can't put them in the rooms.
  20. We really did have a great time... This is our 7th cruise I think... the third with carnival. Our check in times were 12-12;30, we were in a suite (our first time) and walked right in. The parking situation, it looked like it ran pretty smoothly, we stayed the night and did the park and cruise (stayed at StrayBridge hotel right near the inner harbor).... where they park your car someplace until you get back. The ship was beautiful.... it has a kids club which most of the kids love. If your kids want candy (it's me who's the candy addict) they have a candy store that is pretty $$$$! Next time I'm smuggling it on! Ice cream machines work untill about 11pm. Pizza Pirate stays open really late and is pretty tasty probably b/c that's the only food available late nights. The ship was in my opinion was beautiful! The balconies looked old but the Head hotel guy said that this ship would go into drydock next yr and get all new balconies. I hope this answers some of your questions.. but if you have more, there's so many on here that can answer them too!
  21. Just off the Legend out of Baltimore and never saw one fight and only smelled pot once. Getting onboard was super easy, getting off the boat was just as easy. We got to watch the drug dogs sniffing everyones carry on luggage, those dogs were so cute! We had a great time, the comedians were fantastic, there was always something to do, we were never bored. The only thing that wasn't what we'd have liked was the quality of the food... that and there's not much open after 11pm. The ice cream ran out a few times late at night. The steakhouse was really good, the seafood shack was one of our favorites!! In the casino the smell of smoke wasn't too bad on the non smoking side. All in all, it was a pretty nice cruise.... and really loved the Legend decor, love all that glamor!
  22. Thank you, I know it's not on our upcoming cruise now. I thought it might have been something they were just doing as a promotion to get people into the casino. Ours is in a week, so no ultra for us.😪
  23. Is the Ultra party only on Mardi Gras? We are going on the legend and wondered if it was happening there?
