  1. I remember going on the first cruise right after COVID and that terrifying wait in your car for the text saying if you were clear or not, thankfully we both were, all you could hear from our car was ......wooooooooohhhoooooo lol

  2. We love the aft suites too but after having the corner ones we now will definitely stick to the middle ones in future and tbh we really don't need such a huge corner  balcony one anyway and as Sue B says, once you've done Queens grills, there's no going back 😆

I've watched the Madeira New Year fireworks remotely via webcam the past couple years. Rogue fireworks are visible being set off throughout the city leading up to midnight as well as after, but the main display itself that's visible on the webcam has lasted eight minutes from midnight to 12:08am both last year and this year.

They were quite spectacular this year, the ending was so loud we could feel the ship vibrating 🫨

  4. Just off of QV after enjoying the Christmas & New Year cruise. We always opt for an aft suite and never have we had any problems with vibration or noise, although we do enjoy the noise of the propellers cutting through the water. We have experienced "the smells" which yes,is pretty awful but not much can be done about it but they should be honest with people, and not say......we'll check this out,as I'm pretty sure they've had hundreds of complaints over the years.

  5. Everyone onboard QV said this years fireworks were the best yet and I have to agree. Madeira has one of the finest displays in the world ,never fails to give me goosebumps.
home now, feels like I've never been away lol

  7. Onboard Victoria as a type and it's choppy CHOPPY!! Still just off France,so the Bay of Biscay here we come .

I like the previous reviewer, wore my summer dress to the Queens grills restaurant, thinking "it would do" but I felt very under dressed, won't do that again.

    Merry Christmas cruisers x

When dining in the restaurant, I ask for it to be toasted [properly] first then left to cool in a rack on the table and not left to go soggy under napkins. Wait staff soon cotton on.

Cool/cold toast and unsalted butter, brown sauce and brittle bacon.

    Heaven.

No wonder Victoria has 'problems' apart from apparently perceived dodgy' ish 'rudders', we all like different ways of eating the same product!  🙂

Oh yes,the napkins, when we have breakfast in our room the toast is always wrapped in napkins,so it's always soggy 🤢 I'm on a gf diet and my bread is even worse lol

  9. My heart sank when reading this,we're boarding on the 23rd,hope we're not standing on the dock side, suitcases in hand and no ship.Last year we were in dry dock for two days whilst a propeller was replaced. The ship does indeed bang loudly when waves crash into her, pleeeeease someone tell me that is all it is 🤞🤞🤞🤞

The rowdier behaviors I think tend not to happen on Cunard ships because of the more formal atmosphere and the imbuement of history and tradition into everything. It sort of leads to self selection by guests.

I absolutely love Cunard and hope it sticks to the traditional old style cruising, not once have I ever witnessed bad behaviour ☺️

well, apart from when I've had one too many Singapore slings 😆

We belong to a group that has large multi-course feasts, and one tradition is a "Polite Food Fight". One table will send a bit of food of food to another table with a (verbal) message, like "Whatever celery they're giving you, it's too much." (Not always a rude comment, just a food pun.) The second table is obliged to respond. I've seen them go on for hours.

Ha, just don't expect it in what used to be 5* fine dining and food whizzing past my head isn't what I want, also on the main news a few years back,it showed thugs scrapping on the top deck of Azura (I think) great how cruising is evolving isn't it?

I do like the sound of your food fight though lol but I'm sure you wouldn't do it on a cruise ship

@jaypo63 a FOOD fight? 😮😲 Really? How disgusting.

@Victoria2 and @Catchum glad to hear that. I DO love champagne but after much studying we have purchased the drinks package and I have found several wines by the glass that I am sure I will enjoy. Looking forward to tasting the Gusbourne Kentish bubbles.

Yes,sadly some brits just don't know how to behave. Ha, have a friend in McLaren Vale and my favourite wine is from there too 😀
