  1. I know someone on this cruise. They said Egypt was cancelled and they were not given any reason or explanation for the cancellation. Does anyone on the boards here know why? Yes, we understand things happen and itineraries can change, but I think people are owed a reason it its changed.

  2. With Easter being later in 2017 I would expect the majority of spring breaks to be before Easter. I would think the week following Easter it drops off. If you price the cruise each week in April which week does the price start to drop? That's what I would look for as my key spring break is substantially over.

  3. I believe with the DCL insurance you don't have to decide on coverage and pay until final payment is due. I don't know how the 3rd party insurances are. I always get insurance via DCL but I don't until final payment. No sense paying until you have to.

  4. Yeah I think they went way over my limit too. The southern Caribbean sailings were 17-18k for 5 people in a 4A. The 10nt Barcelona was over 20k. That's crazy! By comparison a 14 night Barcelona on RCCL with 2 connecting balcony cabins would be 14k. 30% less money for 4 more nights and 2 cabins vs 1. We love the Disney cruises and they have always been more expensive but this seems extreme.

  5. There are a few of them. I believe the one we went to the last time in Falmouth was the Jewel Runaway Bay. We booked it through Resort for a Day. Just keep in mind the 4 1/2 year old is unlikely to be tall enough for the bigger slides. When you look at the pictures there are 3 slides that are big, I think they had to be either 45 or 48" for those.

  6. I think the Mid-Ship detective agency on Dream class is pretty unique.

    Attention to detail is huge

Much fewer public announcements to go to the art auction, inch of gold sale, etc as I see on other lines

No casino for me is big because it equates to less smoking which I am sensitive too. Many ships with casinos you have to cut through it eventually to get somewhere, or the smoke lingers out from the casino.

The overall style of the ships is a nice blend of old ship design but done in a modern way.

The concept of rotating dining rooms and having the wait staff rotate with you.

The general aim to accommodate you.

    The split bathroom design.

One of the few lines who has standard balcony cabins that can accommodate a family of 5 without buying a suite.

  7. Easter Weekend regardless of whether it is in 2015 or 2016 or in years to come, probably has less port workers including customs agents working. Simple as that, is what I would think. Workers have to be able to use their vacation and personal time and you cannot insist upon a worker working on their religious holiday. There may not be enough workers that do NOT celebrate the holiday to add more people to the staffing those days.

True there may be even more staffing shortage with the holiday but others are reporting long delays other weekends as well. While I realize things happen from time to time it sounds like this happens quite often in PE.

  8. I was quite surprised to see this post as I came on here tonight to post a question about disembarkation at PE. We were on Oasis last year for the cruise that came back the Saturday before Easter. Waited in line for over 3 hours. It appeared there were only 3 customs agents. I thought that maybe it was a fluke since a holiday weekend but from what i am reading here it sounds like a real continuous problem with PE on numerous ships. I have been hesitant to book another cruise sailing from PE for this exact reason. I can't believe they let this continue on a regular basis and don't address the problem.

  9. What kind of stuff do you like to do in ports? I have had a decent time there both at Dunns River and one time going to a hotel with a water park. But we are a family of 5 with 3 younger kids so what interests us may be different than yours.

  10. From what I know the normal western route includes falmouth, but all of the Star Wars cruises they are not stopping at Falmouth. That was definitely planned as there is merchandise like shirts that show the ships schedule and day 4 was printed as Star Wars Day at Sea.

I cant recall if the schedule for this spring was announced before they added Star Wars or not - so I don't know if at one point the cruise was listed with the normal itinerary or not.
