I forgot aspirin once. If I get a headache and don't take something, I get migraines.

I paid 24 bucks for 12 tabs on board.

They normally have a vending machine down by the medical center for reasonable prices.

Last Harmony cruise, I went to guest services to get quarters for the machine and they gave me a handful of whatever I want.

We were flying to Miami on a Friday morning for a Sunday cruise. Airport was 70 miles from home. While unloading luggage for parking shuttle to airport, DW announced one bag was missing. She was very upset until she figured out that it was my bag that was missing. She had repositioned some things so I was left with a very few things.

That evening we went to Bayside Marketplace for dinner and shopping. Found some clothes, but there was not much of a selection for 70-year-old fat men.

When we got home, bag was sitting next to bed where I'd left it. At least she saved doing some laundry. Plus, I think replacing her stuff would have been more expensive.

Someone (definitely not my wife) forgot our toiletries bag one trip. Nothing like spending $10 on your only deodorant option that is $1.50 at Walmart. I think we spent about $50 in the shop to replace the essentials. It too was sitting  right where it was left.

I keep seeing the May 7th requests being refunded an getting a bit jealous as I am also waiting.  Did you all receive emails, or just refunds appearing?

It seems that they are going by sale date. It looked like they have moved from May to early June. When was your sailings scheduled?

  4. We have 3 booked. MSC 3 night in February, NCL 10 night Greek Isles in June and Royal 7 night in December. We had the June cruise booked before the pandemic (prices are over $2000 higher now) and we lifted and shifted the December cruise from 2020. The Feb cruise is for our anniversary and was dirt cheap (<$450 including taxes + $100 OBC for 2 in a balcony).

We can drive to the Feb and Dec cruises. We will wait for a while before booking flights for June. All are refundable until final payment. We have a total of $250 total in deposits laid out between the 3 cruises. We will cancel prior to final payment if cruising hasn't resumed by the final payment date. We don't have confidence in going on the February or June cruises (maybe 50/50), but we want to have the opportunity to go if we can while minimizing the financial investment now.

My refund that hit my credit card account a week ago was also short by the $50 for my initial deposit.  Thanks to the above poster, I remember that I had put the deposit on a different credit card.  I don't yet see a credit on that account, nor was the information included in the email notifying me of the main credit.   Unfortunately, that card was compromised and has been replaced.   I wonder if a credit issued to the old account number will find its way to the new account.

It is my experience that credits sent to a card that has been replaced will work just fine. I can speak first hand about my Chase Visa and discover cards

I had a refund posted about two weeks ago for a card that was reissued with a different number about a month earlier.

just curious how many of those refunds you received back? Asking for a refund isn’t like signing a new contract where you are ‘abiding by the terms. NCL broke the contract they had with the OP when they cancelled the cruise. They owe the OP their money back. The fact that they want to create this outrageous process to claim a rightfully owed refund doesn’t mean the OP agrees to the terms. Had they not filed for a refund then they would never have received one from NCL.

I don’t see how people can still defend NCL when they can cancel your cruise in May, not allow you to even ask for a refund until July (and you only get 5 days to ask so make sure to mark your calendar) And then  tell you you won’t receive it until October.  On top of that there are new threads popping up every day from people who were in the first batch of cancellations and still didn’t receive their refund in 90 days. At this point I would blame no one for doing a charge back. NCL has created an environment that is incredibly unfair to the consumer and has no credibility that you will ever receive this promised refund.

They didn't actually break the contract. The 2018 contract that was in place when I booked (and is still in the current one) had the following statement:

    (e) Compliance with Government Orders: The Carrier shall have the absolute right, without liability for compensation to the Guest of any kind, to comply with governmental orders, recommendations or directions, including but not limited to those pertaining to health, security, immigration, customs or safety.

The government (CDC) ordered them to shut down.

Note that I'm not trying to say it is the right thing to do and they should issue prompt refunds. If they tried to stand on this, they'd likely lose any hope of future bookings from most people, so they are doing the right thing. However, from a contracts standpoint, they owe us nothing.

When we were there in Feb, the driver was telling us they are actually putting in a light-rail train system to go from the airport to Port Canaveral.  Someday when it's done, it will probably be a very cost effective way to get back and forth!

Virgin Trains is not currently slated to have a stop at Port Canaveral (or anywhere in Brevard County). There could be one by 2027, but it's not firmed up yet.

The site development for the tracks is happening now along 528. It stops at the existing US1 tracks, about 7 miles from PC.

I think your situation is a bit different since you didn't wait the 90 days. I agree it's a long time to do the refund, but NCL is starting to prove that they can validate the length of time required for a refund since some (not all)  banks are kicking back the disputes now.

    Per Visa (https://usa.visa.com/dam/VCOM/global/support-legal/documents/faq-covid-19-apr21.pdf😞

Does the cardholder need to wait for a credit refund if the merchant states it will take 90 to 180 calendar days to process the credit?

No.The issuer only needs to wait 15 calendar days to allow the merchant to process the credit refund before initiating a Dispute Condition 13.1—Merchandise/Services Not Received

NCL is standing by this portion:

The acquirer has received a dispute for Dispute Condition 13.1—Merchandise/Services Not Received and responds with evidence to show the merchant was unable to provide services due to a government prohibition1 and is able to provide a reasonable alternative consistent with applicable law and its terms and conditions of purchase between the merchant and cardholder. Does the issuer have a right to pursue pre-arbitration?

No. The issuer does not have a right to pursue pre-arbitration as the acquirer remedied the dispute. Note, however, that a chargeback right would exist if applicable law obligates the merchant to provide a refund.

I can't imagine the staff would like turning over an O class ship every 3-4 days. It also would greatly curtail the entertainment on the ship which is really their highlight.

I did a 3 day Harmony cruise when she moved to PC last May, they did two three day cruises before starting 7 days. The main entertainment types were all present in an aqua show, ice show, comedy and main theater shows. All venues except the main theater had one show run multiple times throughout the 3 days. The main theater ran Columbus and Grease. If you wanted to go to every venue, which we did, it was a lot to do in 3 days, probably a little too much.

  10. I begrudgingly booked a cruise before all this started. They had a group rate significantly cheaper than anyone else and gave an extra $200/room as OBC. The way I looked at it is that the group rate was a refundable rate and the rates I normally book are non refundable.

In the current climate, I won't be with an agency that charges a cancellation fee.

  11. We intend to return to cruising, but expect it to be the last form of travel that fully returns. We shifted our Christmas cruise to 2021 and are still not 100% sure about our Greek isles cruise in summer 2021.

We did book a ski trip hotel for December, and will wait and see. We booked it with points that were from cancelled trips earlier this year that are fully refundable up to 24 hours before arrival, so no risk. We probably won't book flights until October or November if we're comfortable with where things are.

They should be quicker, but way too much variability to say when one may see such a refund.

Thanks, I'm only 15 days out from my L&S/cruise planner cancellations. I'm not in a hurry, but also don't want to let it linger if this isn't normal.

I would call back and try again.

they are allowing people to keep the same staterooms for categories that have been eliminated ( going from a 8D to a 4D).  This is really no different.

if you are in balconies the balcony dividers can also be opened so they kind of connect that way as well.

I can confirm we switched from an 8D to a reclassified 4D balcony that was the same room.

This is all very helpful.  And I appreciate the kind tone of everyone's comments.  We really are at a loss for what to do ... have planned this trip for a year and spent a lot of time working with it, booking special excursions, etc and now ... looks like it is not happening.  Sigh.

I didn't know the Odyssey was doing this itinerary in 2021.  I'll look at that.

Final payment date for us is July 1.

Note that the only 12 night itineraries are in September. Note that they only spend 1 day in Jerusalem. The September 19th date is just outside of the 4 week L&S window, but Royal may make an exception as it's very close and there are no other options.

If I were in your shoes, I would call and ask about the possibility. The issue is lack of consistency. They may say yes today, but no tomorrow, which is not ideal for groups.

I was in a situation where I organized a family cruise (5 cabins) for Christmas 2020. I organized the shift to 2021, but had to temper expectations. The new itinerary added Coco Key, which has been used for denials, and they did away with the cabin category (8D balcony) on the new cruise, which could also be used for denials. It's hard convincing groups of people to all move in unison and saying it may or may not be approved.

In your case, look at prices too. The current prices have Odyssey being cheaper, but you may have got a lower rate than the current rate on Explorer.

PS: our L&S went fine, we all got the exact cabins we had (moved from Allure to Harmony) and they had no problem with the category shift.

I am looking to do the same. Have an 8D balcony on Harmony and want to switch to Symphony. For 2021 there are no longer any 8D's  on Symphony they will be re-categorized to  4D. Should that be a problem?

Had a similar issue moving from Allure in December to Harmony in December 2021. They moved us to the same room without issue.

What if it was opposite..I have allure (western...no perfect day) but would like to switch to Symphony  Western w/ perfect day...Both leave from Miami and are 7 days in length.. Would I be able to L&S??? Thanks

We were able to change from Eastern to Eastern with Perfect Day. Not sure if they allowed additional leeway since we were going from a Christmas cruise to another Christmas cruise.
