Correct that Pinnacle status cannot be gained by being the child of a Pinnacle parent, but it can be earned by being the significant other of a Pinnacle member.
That's interesting because when I spoke to C&A I was told my DH would have to get the points himself (I have a few more points than him:D) Another example of consistently inconsistent info I suspect!
-
Firstly pinnacle is the only status that cannot be inherited and has to be earned.
That said DD is halfway there in her own right and just turned 15. Her goal is to make it by 18:D
(Told her to get a job!;))

People, people, I don't think the OP was talking about receiving a menu on their pillow. I could be wrong but I think they meant there was no pillow menu, meaning there are various pillows listed and you may choose the type you want.
Agreed. We just got off LOS and was told no more pillow menu as well. They used to have some really nice pillows to choose from.:(
overall I think RC's suite program is lacking compared to other lines especially on non oasis/quantum class ships.. Other lines are stepping up their game and RC appears to be slow to respond to the industry changes.

Yes the big tree went up as we were leaving. It was being put up in front of sorrentos Sunday morning it was in about 10 big boxes.

Thanks, I was off the ship by 7:40 so missed the boxes.
Shame they didn't have up earlier. Was looking forward to some nice pictures with the tree.

Got off LOS yesterday. No tickets for ice show, not by muster either. Was first come first served.

I guarantee this story never happened. Since all public areas A under 24hr surveillance. Why would,a crew member take a risk of having there actions recorded... perhaps the OP was still dreaming at 4:30am.[emoji99][emoji42]

If you are questioning crew members being in there having coffee I can tell you they I can well believe it as they were using suite lounge at similar hours as well. Same cruise. Didn't bother us. Exchanged hellos. They were not interfering with our ability to have a coffee.
Shame some passengers have to be so rude

I only saw the small trees on Liberty this year. Last year, they had the huge one on the Promenade. These must be old pics unless they put it up this morning. It was not up at 9PM last night. I was disappointed with the decorations as well.
Agreed. The two pictures posted of Liberty are also decorated differently so I suspect they are from previous years as well unless they put up after we got off this morning. It would be nice if anyone who set sail today could confirm if the tree is up on the Liberty now.
-
Liberty!
I only saw these too. Didn't see the nice big one posted earlier in the thread. I was very disappointed with Liberty decorations.

Not sure which ship you are on but I thought Some of the ships do not have the freestyle machines yet.

I agree with others. Yes had to wait for tables at times. We try to not go at the height of peak times. Even if the WJ is busy you don't have to eat in your cabin. The WJ is not the only option for lunch.

Moody Gardens is one of the few better hotels that do not require a 2 night stay before a cruise like Hilton .
Hilton only requires 2 nights if you book online. If you call the hotel direct (not general reservations) and advise cruising they do a manual override so you can book for 1 night.

Sabor is 20 for lunch, 25 for dinner

Thanks for the quick response. Hope you continue to have a great cruise.
-
Sorry if I missed it but how much is Sabor for lunch? Can't wait to try.
Great review by the way. thank you for taking the time to do!

Thanks Nikki, I hadn't seen that. Let me know how that works out...maybe the kids will get another backpack tote on Allure in January.
Liberty....finally a cruise you don't have to fly to.:)
:D we will let you know. Glad we aren't flying for this one. Hoping you manage to sort your flights for Adventure. Would be great to meet up again. Say hi to Vicki and the kids for us.
-
It's been years since we received any gifts. Even the kids have not received gifts lately.
Ken, I know when we went Spring Break we were told no more kids gifts. I saw after that they removed from website. I did notice that recently they added on the benefits page on the website that gifts for kids were back for those D and above only:confused: I'll be interested to see if DD gets anything when we go on Liberty.

If I could afford to book Royal Suites, I wouldn't worry about spending a few dollars for Internet. Just saying...
It's more the principle that all the other lines I look at offer some perks for booking high end suites. As RC offer Internet/ drinks on the larger ships it shouldn't be difficult to extend it fleet wide. It's about it being inconsistent within the fleet.
Yes I get there are "some benefits" but actually I don't notice anything extra on non Oasis/Quantum class ships as I get all those basic benefits for being D+. The perks for booking suites on RC are pretty poor and certainly not keeping up with the competitors.

Out of curiosity I priced up a 4 night cruise for 2 people on Empress January 26th.
Cost before taxes is $4282. with taxes it is over $1100 per night.
Regardless of the ship, that is still way more than the cost of a standard room on a per night basis on one of the bigger ships. It is also more than a lot of JS and GS per night on the larger ships.
I agree when you are spending $1000 per night on a cabin they could throw in a few perks.
Edited to add for $8050 for 2 people (just over $1000 per night can get sky class OS oasis with plenty of perks) sailing Jan 29th!

Oslo we did hop on hop off bus. Allowed us to see what we wanted for as long as we wanted. You can buy tickets onboard or they have the bus waiting as soon as you get off the ship with ticket sellers.
Zeebruge we did tour to Bruge. It was part guided walking with boat tour and time to explore by ourselves as well. We found the balance to be good.
Helsinki we got a shuttle into town and walked into the market. The market is fun for the food samples:D
There is a lot to do in St. Petersburg so I would recommend doing more research and narrowing down what you think you would like to see. I have been there a few times and still not done everything I would like to.

For the rest of the posters who may not have had the survey, and like coffee, one of the questions was about Coffee Houses. When I did not select a coffee house /brands as one I purchase I was specifically asked why I didn't buy that brand. Wonder if they are thinking of switching from Starbucks:confused:
I mention this as DL coffee is one of the things discussed here

Hum... explain please ... it looked to me like it was either 50 or 100 pts per hour. Haven't figured it out yet but will on the next cruise.
It very well could be 100 pts per hour (table play) but they finalized it at 8pm the last night of the cruise. Maybe my time on the last night will change my points... don't know. The first port day we were in Nassau until 12pm and the table games didn't open until late. Casino was closed until 7 on Coco Cay day and Key West Day.
How are the pts figured for slots? If is is a point per dollar spent, I would have been well over the 1000 pts but on Tables.
Slots are $5 per point or $10 per point video poker

Actually, I believe this was the thread that got this on to a smoking discussion.
I really don't think we are the minority any longer....
Actually my post was 170 which was in response to your smoking post 166. You bought it up - I just asked if you had the survey:rolleyes:
-
Why don't you just get me started on Smoking.... LOL I think you enjoy the ride.... and, when I do my Casino post, smoking wasn't that bad in the Casino and Royal did a great job policing it... it has it's own side... and the cleaned out quickly... I was told that Empress is now NO SMOKING in Casino... a trial maybe?
You mean you didn't get the smoking survey today:confused:
I did:D

If she can afford it she can cruise whenever she wants:D. She's been D+ for a few years now. The trouble I have is I was trying to book an X cruise to compare their suite program and got told no way was she switching lines till she makes Pinnacle:rolleyes:
Also she's never been allowed in DL by herself. Even with us she's been told no on some ships.
She did love the Royal treatment she got on Jewel a couple of years back. She was the youngest Top Tier the LA said they could remember on the ship so for the picture they actually had all the top staff for the picture not just the Captain. She got quite a few looks when she was escorted to the reserved table!
