It is the same concept as playing the lottery. There is a chance of winning, just a slim chance though.

I was on the Panorama at the beginning of December and did see the silent disco. I didn't join but everyone that did sure looked like they were having a great time. It was on the Lido deck and there were guests of all ages. I also noticed that the head phones came in different colors but I do not know why.
The different colors are the different channels I believe.

Are these family friendly events? We will be bringing our kids/grandkids and I think they would like this if it is family friendly.
I think all deck parties are family friendly events.

1. They open the 12-packs and investigate each can. Carnival has a fairly good beer selection, although certainly won't satisfy everyone.
2. You are limited to 15 drinks a day no matter how you buy them. The only way around it would be to buy pitchers of beer/margaritas, or bottles of wine/liquor. You cannot use Cheers when ordering room service.
Not if you buy a bottle for your room prior or bring on wine. They have no way of separating that out correctly. I **could** finish a bottle in a night and they would never know. Then go buy a drink on Cheers.

What are the dress codes for these restaurants?
The same as other specialty restaurants. When we went I would consider both resort casual. Not real formal.

Do they pair the silent disco with the white night on some ships? I always wanted to take part in a silent disco event.

1. IMO, Carnival isn't new at this and will catch you. They kinda do this a lot and have probably seen it all.
2. If you bought a bottle to have delivered to your room prior to the trip (I think that is what you mean) then that does not count. They have no way of parsing that out per day. Just like the wine you can bring on.

I am completely trying this on my side by side this summer. Two different ships, $20 a day. I could handle a free cruise from that and if it doesn't work it was worth the try.

Will the starlink addition help if you buy the AT&T cruise package?
What is the AT&T cruise package? I have AT&T and have never heard of it. Maybe that it for me.

Are you going to Grand Cayman? If so could you report back any propulsion issues and if you actually go? We go in July and from what I hear it is hit and miss.
-
I sail on her in July and really hope we do not miss Grand Cayman. We have people that have never been there that I want to experience it. Do they tell you prior if they are skipping the port? What if you don't book an excursion through carnival? Out of luck I would guess.

Interesting. It says it started rolling out in December of 2022. I wonder which ships get it and when?

Same, 14 cruises and never have been asked for the marriage certificate. Bring it but you should be fine.

These are all good points. Thanks for the tips all!

Thank you all for the great information! It looks like it should be pretty easy to pull off.

I am now going to be on the Breeze on the 4th of July and have never done that before. Does Carnival do fireworks or is that not a thing on the ship. What sort of celebration do they do?

Galveston is a good place to do this sort of thing because The Strand is right there. I would pack lightly so you don't have too much luggage to haul around and just go get some brunch or window shop on The Strand which is only a couple of blocks from the port. There is even a Starbucks right across the street, but there are much better places on The Strand (just one more street up from that) to eat. It would be easy to kill an hour or two there.
Eli_6, I see you are from Houston. I want to eat at a place called Truth BBQ in Houston on my way down. It makes a lot of top ten lists. Ever eaten there or heard of it?

Remember everyone usually has to be out of their room by 8:30am. Most arrival appointments don't start until around 10:00am.... so if you don't want to leave the ship, you will have to go sit somewhere... and even at that they may be chasing you off lol!
That is a good point. We may have some time to kill.

Only thing that comes to mind for me with side by side, if you really mean getting of one ship and then on to a different one (not to be confused with back to back - two cruises on the same ship one after the other), is arrival appointment time.
You will want to time your arrival appointment time on the 2nd sailing to coincide with the time you are pretty sure you are getting off the first ship so you don't have to stand around and wait outside a long time.
Other than that I can't think of anything that would be different for the 2nd sailing as if you had just done it by itself.
Thanks for that tip! The second cruise (Vista) I have Faster to the Fun for so that would help with when I can board. I suppose we would just drag our feet a little on the first ship (Breeze) and then get off and try and board.

I am considering a side to side cruise, something I have never done before. It may be a dumb question but are these hard to pull off? What I mean is getting off one then onto the next. It seems like it wouldn't be but are there any tips you would have? This one is leaving from Galveston if that adds to anything. Thank you for your help.

I loved the drinks at the Fortune Teller bar. They were inventive. The Venus Rising was my favorite. The reason I loved the bar in the seating area across from the actual bar normally had a guitarist playing. Kinda my thing on a ship so I thought it was cool.

Really? Did you actually read it?
Yes, the whole thing. You are writing about people's tastes and telling them they are wrong to like one over another. Then you take shots at Carnival (rust buckets I believe) for no real reason. The other post you were talking about was just people listing their feelings, not taking pot shots at others. So, yes, it is a GET OFF MY LAWN post.

And the avocado toast. I do not see that on the menu anymore.
