  1. We just did a B2B out of Venice last September on Royal. I enjoyed sailing out both time much better than sailing in. It is dark sailing in so you can't really enjoy it as much as sailing out. We also did 4 day before our cruise in Venice and then did a 3 day stop in Amsterdam on our way home.

  2. I was researching the dining options on our upcoming cruises and I noticed that there is $0 by Izumi so does this mean that this restaurant is free to eat at. It is confusing because it says $0 but than when you look at the menu it is showing prices.

  3. Was on Vision in May. Had guarantee oceanview got assigned deck 2 2036 was bit worried as never been anything lower than 7. Me n my mum loved it was so great really quiet, great cabin attendant. Would go to deck 2 again in heartbeat.

This is our room number for a B2B in september. I was worried that it is right across from the elevator.

So happy to hear that it was quiet. Do you have any pictures of the cabin?

  4. Janice.

We are booked on the Vision, (4 of us), for a 14 day cruise in August 2017, (2x7 day cruises back to back), Its worth mentioning that we dont have to change cabins for 2nd week

1st one on 13th Aug, Venice to Corfu, return to Venice on 20th.

2nd one on 20th Aug, Venice to the Greek Islands, reurn to Venice on 27th.

We have done this cruise many times, and its really enjoyable. I only mention it just in case it may be of interest to you.

We are doing the exact same thing but in Sept 24 till Oct 8

  5. We were also on the vision last week and agree with the post above. We also boarded at 11.30 no queue and in cabin by 1.00, suitcase already there.

This being my 10th cruise we thought our service in the mdr was exceptional and the food choice was good. We had 2nd sitting our server always gave a recommendation which she thought was the best meals and they usually were. She brought us extra prawns with our starters then when prawns were the main she brought steak to make it a surf and turf plus cookies every night with our coffee. This took between 70 to 120 minutes. When there was a delay one night as everyone had ordered the rack of lamb she apologised and explained why.

Our assistant server dressed up either like Bob Marley or Michael Jackson and kept us entertained with his stories or dancing.

However I did hear from another couple who had to swap tables as there servers kept messing up the order and very slow.

The servers went above and beyond telling us which shows to see (she said she watches them in her cabin) the tender or docking process for the following day and all aboard times etc.

We had brunch in the mdr twice with steak and eggs, breakfast and also lunch in the mdr was a fantastic salad bar and always guaranteed a seat [emoji3] why bother with the windjammer.

I do agree about the entertainment it's difficult to please everyone, a good British comedian may not go down so well with the Americans.

Likewise we went to see the quest show which seemed more like a drunken teenagers party game but some people seemed to love it. I think it's just a cost cutting exercise on all cruise lines, previously there was always a professional act in the theatre and lounge but now it's what I call 'home made' entertainment with karaoke, mr and Mrs and the quest. We have previously sailed with princess and their home made entertainment is similar.

Overall we had a great cruise and enjoyed the later port days so no rushing around

Was brunch only on sea day? We are taking this cruise in October.

  6. Hi, it may depend on which cruise line you are with and whether you are participating in one of their shore excursions.

I understand that normal tenders will drop you off at the old pier where the cable car is but for shore excursions the tenders will drop you off at the Athinios port.

We are cruising with Royal on Visons of the Sea. So I guess we can take the tender to the Athinios Port and meet them there.

  7. We are going to this port. I know we have to tender in this port but where do the tenders drop us off at.

Do we go to the old one or the ATHINIOS PORT? The place where we are going to rent ATV from is asking this question

  8. We were in Katakolon in October and took the bus to Olympia. Caught the bus across the street from where the ship docked, there are signs to show you where to go. It was 8E each return and took about 30 minutes each way. We got the bus just before 11am and the bus dropped us off in the town of Olympia. It was a 5 minute walk to the Olympia site and we had 2 hours there before the bus picked us up. We had a guide book with us and saw quite abit in that time frame, even saw the museums. It was very, very hot and this was Oct 8th so at least for us 2 hours was the right amount of time to spend there.

I see that you are from NS, what other ports were you in and what advice can you give. We are going to the following ports in Sept and Oct

Kotor, Corfu, Piraeus, Mykonos, Dubrovnik, Kusadasi, Santorini, and Katakolon.

  9. Thank you so much for all of that information. I have not really started looking into excursion yet so that will be very usefull. Our previous cruises have been to the Med where we did all our own excursions and Alaska (Honeymoon) where we did all Celebrity own excursions. I am hoping we will be able to do private or on our own excursions this time.

Our ports are Dubrovnik, Santorini, Kusadasi and Katakolon. Royal have just renamed the cruise to exclude Turkey from the title so I am not sure what that means!

I just checked mine and we are still going to Turkey.
