Our experience with the Butler in a Sky Suite was wonderful. Rudy, our Butler on Reflection, was always around to assist us with whatever we needed. Of course he would help a wheelchair bound person unpack! It may be a good idea to speak to the Concierge in Michael’s Club about having your Butler unpack for you when you stow your carryon bags, before you go to lunch at Luminae.

Is this the “Wonders of Engineering Canal Locks and Culebra Cut Cruise”? $169 each to wait in the hot sun for two hours without water and peeing in the bushes, I booked this excursion for our cruise March 12! DH was so excited about this excursion, it’s the reason we booked the cruise. Do private tour companies do a tour? What did X say? Did you get a refund?

We are taking the same cruise and excursion. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing the canal.
Carol
Hi Carol. We were on Reflection in December for an ABC cruise and loved the ship. Can’t wait to see her all spruced up after the dry dock. The canal transit was the reason we booked the cruise! Eagerly looking forward to it. Hope to meet you at sail away or the connections party!

You know Carole2313, you sound a lot like Peyton Manning & the Colts. The Pats always had their locker room bugged so they had to talk in the halls. So to prove it they had their IT security team electronically sweep the room for listening devises to catch them at it...... Funny thing tho, they NEVER found any. ....Could it be that the Pats are just better? Could that be it?
..... OR! maybe the RUSSIANS did it?
If the Pats are just better than other teams, why do they have to cheat all the time?

Why don’t you have your party with your friends and family the night before or the morning of, in your hotel? They can see you off at the pier or at sail away.

I think the OP asked about tipping those Outside the standard gratuities when staying in a Suite. The Luminae staff, Butler, MC staff and Suite Concierge not covered by the standard gratuities. All standard gratuities are included when staying in Suites. We have two cruises booked, one for the South Pacific Islands and one for New Zealand/Australia. Of course the tipping practices would be the same. Why wouldn’t it? The crew isn’t from New Zealand or Australia.

DH and I sail in Suites so the people we tip are mostly not part of the standard gratuities. Standard Grats and premium drink package are “free” so the Butler, MC staff and Suite Concierge and the Laminae staff are tipped well for the services they provide. The room steward is tipped an extra $75 per week for very good service, and if we drink at any of the bars onboard, we tip extra $5 a round. On the pool deck, we introduce ourselves to the bartender, tell him/her how we like our drinks and ask who our server will be by the pool. We tip the bartender $10 or $20 or so per day and tip the server $5 a round. Our drinks are always served quickly with generous pours. We want great service and as Americans we are pleased to show our appreciation for it.

when the Pats lost twice vs the Giants the Pats fans didn't cry cheaters. ...just say'in
That’s because the Giants didn’t cheat, neither did the Rams. Your Pats cheat and it doesn’t seem to bother you, just sayin.

GO EAGLES! The Patriots have a long history of cheating. When we had the Rams in St. Louis they sent a mole to film our practices before the Super Bowl in 2002. Since they cheated and had all of our plays, they won.

Sorry, but that sounds awful. That puts you on the hook. Yes, my card # was stolen, but I don't have to pay any of it. The credit card company takes care of it. If it were a prepaid visa, which has minimal fees, you would be out whatever was taken. My inconvenience is being without my card for a week while they send me a new one.
I wasn’t very clear, sorry about that. Any funds stolen are replaced in my checking account and the card is frozen till I get back home

Our bank offers a prepaid Visa Spending Card with a separate number not linked to your credit card. That way a hacker can only get the money you loaded on it.

After reading this thread I'm getting really worried about the B2B South Pacific and New Zealand cruise we booked for Mar '19. We wanted the cruise to be in the fall of '19 but the itineraries were't what we wanted so we had to book the cruise in March instead. Most of the S1 sky suites were already taken but we were able to book aft suite 9299 for the Fiji cruise. For the New Zealand cruise no S1 was available so we took a S1 gty for 20K. I was told not to worry, that after the TAs release their cabins they would rebook us into a cabin we could stay in the whole time, but they couldn't guarantee it. We booked a S1 gty for this March on Reflection and got a great location and saved $800 so we figured it would be OK but now I'm not so sure.

This happened to me several cruises ago and I had to go to GS to get the extra charge taken off my account. It took an hour out of my vacation so I told the Hotel Director I would never use a ship spa again. There are great massages available in the various ports, usually on the beaches. The best massage I ever had was on Orient Beach, an hour and a half massage for $100.

Thanks Chezmarylou. I just went back to Future Cruises and picked up a form to book my cruise and have the booking get the onboard perks since this cruise ends Dec 11.

On Reflection now and apparently things are back to normal. I have not heard of any Noro Virus but some passengers do seem to have colds. Haven't heard of or seen any sick crew members. I sprayed everything in the cabin with Lysol then followed up with hydrogen peroxide just to be sure. We carry small bottles of sanitizer and pre-packaged wipes for any common areas. Having a great cruise so far. Headed to Aruba for this afternoon and tomorrow.

Should be Dec 5 for Captain Club members according to a schedule posted earlier.
Could you please tell me where the schedule is located? I'm on Reflection now and can't get an answer from Bianca or future cruises as to when the end of 2019 South Pacific and New Zealand cruises open for booking.
TIA

Anti-bacterial Wet Ones have the chemical that kills Norovirus.

Wet Ones in the red or yellow pack have the chemical that kills Norovirus. The individual wipes do not.

Just want to point since most people think any hand sanitizer will work. Hand sanitizers need a anti-microbial called benzethonium chloride for it to be effective against Norovirus. This virus is one though son of a bitch.

From what I just read, you are probably right, darn it. I'll see if she would prescribe Zofran for the stomach symptoms.

I plan to ask my Doctor for Tamiflu anti-viral medicine to bring with us on our Nov cruise on Reflection. What kind of meds did the Doctor onboard give the Noro patients?

Having 5 joint replacements I always try to get in the line with the hands over your head scanner which doesn't beep for replacements. If I have to go through the X-ray scanner, I really don't mind the pat down. It just takes a few seconds. Just tell them you have replacements. Got used to it over the years.

Adjusting to jet lag from the U.S.
in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers
Posted
We are also flying into Sydney. We live in St. Louis, Mo, right in the middle of the US, so we have an extra 6 hours to LA. I have read posts about the jet lag. They say it’s best if you have dinner, watch a movie, then take a sleep aid and try to sleep as much as you can.
