Despite a 95% vaccinated cruise ship, Captain Kate just announced that a vaccinated guest onboard Celebrity Edge tested positive for COVID 19 after reporting cold like symptoms to the medical center. Thankfully, the rest of the family travelling along with the passengers identified via contact tracing have all tested negative and have been put into isolation. The infected guest has been quarantined in the medical center.
@myn Thank you for sharing. Truly unfortunate for the affected family, but breakthrough infections happen. It is very reassuring to see that the protocols in place are being followed and, more importantly, that they are working as intended.

DH & I both received the survey email last week and deleted them. Today we received reminder emails, which we also deleted. We don't have any cruises booked this year, one cruise booked for April 2021 and one for September 2021.

This cabin only received a partial "revolution," with new bedding and curtains, but the couch was worn with a small tear in the upholstery and the carpet was not replaced. The matress and pillows seemed newer and were very comfortable.

That price sounds like quite a jump from what I paid on Equinox in October 2018. It really sounds like it should be for two people, although in my cruise planner it clearly states $120 for one person. Last year I made a tumbler for $79 total - class and tumbler included. As posted earlier, the price will depend on what you choose to create, and the level of hands-on involvement will also also depend on the complexity of the piece. Although I truly enjoyed my experience and found it to be a great souvenir of our cruise, I don’t think I would have done it for $120. I do recommend going up as soon as they open (the hours will be posted) to ensure that you get the day/time that works best for you.

Your estimate of 8:00 – 3:30 only gives you a 7 ½ hour window. I don’t know about the train service, but the port of Civitavecchia is a 90 minute drive from Rome, so you are looking at a minimum of 3 hours just to get there and back. If you encountered any traffic other unforeseen delays you might not make it back in time. IMHO it is too much of a risk for just 4 hours in Rome, especially since anything worth seeing will have significate wait time just to get in…

I’m interested in anyone’s experience with lunch at Sushi on 5 on embarkation day. Is it very busy? Can anyone post a menu? TIA 😁

The cruise was great but the wi-fi was the worst we have ever experienced in many years of cruising. My husband spoke with the CC host about his concerns and the host spoke with the IT manager. The manager called our room and left a message that he was refunding 25% of the cost for our trouble. That was the first week. The second week it was just as bad or worse. No bars often, even in ports. Spoke with the IT guy at the Elite HH. Asked why the inputs (3 of them) on TV were all disabled. Goobeldegook answer. Blamed it on the vendor and said only the vendor could turn them on. Yeah, sure. Anyway, we were glad to get the little bit of cost back and since we used their OBC to pay both weeks, we really were out nothing. We did get a better signal in the library. Just FYI.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I plan to purchase an internet package for our October Equinox sailing, and am debating which of the two services would be best. Would you mind sharing which you had, the surf package or the unlimitted package? TIA

Reef-safe sunscreens are becoming more prevalent on many islands of the Caribbean. Last October, our snorkeling excursion in Bonaire strongly recommended reef-safe sunscreen. Coral reefs are increasing becoming endangered, and some ingredients in sunscreens are actually toxic to the organisms. Reef-safe sunscreen is just as effective but doesn’t contains the toxic ingredients. I don’t know about any laws requiring it, but it’s not difficult to find. I recently bought some at Costco for this summer’s travels, and you can easily find it on Amazon, too. I consider it a truly minimum effort to help conserve these beautiful natural environments that do so much to enhance our ocean-going experience – JMHO

Just returned from the Baltic Cruise on the Silhouette. Was reluctant to purchase the premium wifi due to cost as only wanted to keep in touch with kids back home.
I reconsidered when they brought out the cheaper, but reduced, package.
If it helps anybody, I was able to send back 30 to 45 secs videos with sound to family on FB/Messenger. Whilst it took a few minutes to send all was okay on arrival, photos went immediately.
Speed of general surfing was obviously not the fasted but was not frustrating either, the trick is to find the time when general onboard usage is lower.
Glad to know that Surf Internet met your needs; I too am reluctant to pay so much for the unlimited wifi. You mention that speed was OK, but I was wondering if you had any experience / success with wifi calling...
TIA

The screenshot says boards.cruisecritic.com. Don’t log in from the boards page. Log in from the main website page. www.cruisecritic.com
I am not having issues logging in. My issue is accessing the discussion boards. I can view the CC website and login, but once I click on "BOARDS" I immediately get the error message. This happens whether I log in first from the main screen or not, but only from my iphone or ipad, not from my desktop. And to make it even more frustrating, it does not happen every time I try to access the boards on my phone, only sporadically...
I guess my issue is more unique than I thought. Or perhaps I am simply on the wrong thread, but I haven't found anything similar to what I am experiencing. Can anyone point me in the right direction to contact support directly? TIA

This may well be related to the unauthorized script error Chrome users are seeing. It is discussed in
In addition to clearing history have you cleared website data?
To clarify, my issue is not with logging in. I receive the error message by simply trying to acces the CC website. It does not happen all the time, but it never happens on my desktop computer - only when I try to visit the website on my iphone or ipad. Perhaps this is the wrong thread for this, but I did not find any other related threads...

I have read the threads but i’m not finding anything related to the problem I’m having. I cannot even view the website from my iPhone or iPad. The interesting thing about my problem is that it happens sporadically. I am able to post right now from my phone, but other times I get an error message “403 ERROR the request could not be satisfied” - I’m attaching a screenshot photo. I’ve cleared all history, I’ve tried different browsers...what am I doing wrong?

Same space exists on Equinox. Our last cruise we used that space with magnetic hooks I brought from home to hang hats, bags, etc. Works great because it is out-of-the-way enough that you don't knock anything off as you walk by. Needless to say, we never considered it wasted space 😄

Very easy to get a taxi to Lindqvist, but there's no taxi stand at the beach so driver needs to come back for you, or you can flag one from the main road.
Any idea how much for a taxi from Crown Bay to Lindquist? Travel time? TIA 😃

Sorry to dig up an old post, but can anyone share the best way to get to Lindquist from Crown Bay?

I have down loaded the app. I can not find a copy of the dailies or menues. What am I missing?
It depends on when you sail – the further out your sailing, the fewer details there will be. But you can look at the current sailing to see what is happening now, which would be the equivalent of dailies posted by someone currently onboard.
For instance, the 06/22/19 sailing is currently on route to San Juan for a 3:30 PM arrival. If you swipe up you will see the daily planner with recommended activities, just tap on the filter to show all. If you tap on the fork & knife icon you will find the various dining options, click through to see the menus, etc. This is the apple version; I don’t know how different the android version would be… HTH 😊
