  1. I just decided to jump on the Harmony after several years away from RCL, and decided to splurge on an Owner's Suite as we are treating our DD to her first cruise. I am confused about which class this is and what's included. I've searched the website and my cruise ticket, but can't find it anywhere. Is Internet included for each person, and is this the enhanced zoom or the basic? Should we buy more? What about water and sodas? Do we get reserved seating in the shows on Harmony now? I did buy the unlimited dining package, but do we get priority reservations for that?  I think I read that we have to book all reservations upon embarkation.

Thank you in advance for all help and advice for an old timer!

  2. Mer,

Thank you so much for your fabulous posts, pics and commentary!  We are on the March 25th Oceania cruise and will spend a day in Moorea. We spent several days at the Hilton there in 2020 when our cruise was cancelled. Your trip sounds idyllic, and makes me wonder if we are doing the right thing by cruising, although we are looking forward to seeing the other islands.

We are looking into renting a scooter for the day. What would you recommend as an itinerary for a day to squeeze in beautiful beaches, SNORKELING, and the best food?

  3. Following. . . . we are booked on the March 25th sailing, and this is also a repeat try for us in FP, as our first time was cancelled in March, 2020.  I am closely watching the entry requirements for FP, as the 24 hour PCR test seems so complicated and difficult.  If O is going to cancel, I just hope they do it sooner, rather than later, so we can jump on something else.

  4. I believe I posted this in another thread, but I was booked on Regatta for the March 15th sailing.  O cancelled on March 12th (we were en route to Tahiti).  They said it would take up to 90 days for credit back to CC, but I received everything in full in one credit to my CC by March 31st.  I was quite pleased considering the total upheaval within the industry.

And, as for me, I want to be the first one back on one of O's ships ASAP!!  The sooner, the cleaner, lol!

  5. I'm jumping in here. . . we were booked on the French Polynesia sailing of the Regatta that was cancelled on the evening of March 12th when we were en route to Tahiti.  I did receive my refund today from Oceania, and was surprised it came so quickly after the frequent 90 day warning.  The two excursions I had booked were also refunded.  We booked everything else separately, including airfare, pre-cruise hotels and some excursions.  I thought Oceania would reimburse us for the airfare cancellation fees that we still have not been able to recoup, but no communication from them regarding that.  Frankly, I was thrilled to get the 100% reimbursement just weeks after the cancellation.

I appreciate any other guidance on what else I should do with Oceania.

  6. Nancy, thank you so, so much for your encouraging words!  I did speak with Oceania just a bit ago, and I had the person check on this current sailing.  He said there have been no port cancellations, and none scheduled for next week either.  Not sure if this is true or not.

We do have plans to stay a few nights at the Hilton Moorea prior to the cruise, so wondering if we just extend our stay there and try to head over to Bora Bora as well for some time.  I would so miss the Regatta, though, but want to keep everything in perspective.

  7. Thank you, thank you!!!  Yes, the nails are gone, and this has reached an all new level of anxiety.  We are all packed with snorkels and fins and were set to go until this State Dept. advisory.  Now what???  Will FP shut down ports?  Will Oceania cancel?  I was also an RN, like you (Critical Care), so understand the concern, but there are risks around everywhere.  This is quite a bold statement.

I so appreciate your thoughts, prayers and empathy!!  Hopefully, all of this will pass by the time your cruise comes around :).

  8. Hi Terry!

Thank you for your encouraging tales and photos!!  We are supposed to be flying out on Thursday to join the Regatta on Sunday.  Interesting to hear about the temperature checks after each port visit.  Also, were there any other imposing or daunting changes on the ship?  We are still leaning towards going on the trip, but don't want it to feel like a sailing infirmary.  Thanks for any insights!

    Karen
