  1. Here's how to enjoy the M Drill.

    1. If you are a drinker, don't leave your bar stool until the bar starts to close.

    2. Then stroll to your room to get a topper from your smuggled booze.

    3. After a shooter, head for your M Station. Take the stairs.

    4. As your wandering, smiling to all the crew that are directing you to your station, your close.

    5. The horn sounds, you should beat the landing 1/2 floor below the muster deck.

    6. When you get to the door of the muster station, ask if you are in the correct area, walk through the doors.

    7. Try to figure if you go right or left.

    8. Arrive at your muster station, usually you can slide to the back row,

after checking out the ladies, lean back, enjoy the announcements.

    9. Warning, you should have finished off your cocktail. 10 minute drill.

  2. You must remember that years ago when they allowed you to bring liquor back to your room that you purchased, cruise prices were much higher... They have lowered the cruise price, but started charging more for drinks, specialty rest. etc.... Drinks used to be cheap on a cruise, but you paid a higher fare then you do today... The people who dont drink ( or dont drink much) and dont eat at the specialty restuarants make out under this system..

I agree, charge more for the cruise and let us bring our special beverages.

  3. How the heck are you going to tip the buffet people?

Are you going to give $1 per person for each omlette you get.

$1 PP for every beverage refill.

Last of all $1 PP to the one who cleans the table.

    Now repeat that for lunch.

    How about the pizza guy.

With so many people that we interact with at the self service buffet

the opt-outers will be carrying around quarters and dimes.

PS; the sandwich guy and the fish and chips guy too.

  4. They don't know or remember you 5 seconds after you walk away. The porter loads the carts; the carts get loaded by machinery. After the porter loads my luggage on the cart I tip them $5-$10 but I am under no delusion that I am paying them to not have fun/batter/mess with my bag. They don't have the time or opportunity to; they want to get to the next person for their next tip.

    I agree Maxwell.

The urban legend about not tipping the porters is not true.

Two seconds after you walk away, they are hustleing the next cruiser.

    I pay them a $1 to leave me alone.:D
