  1. Not sure how often Dwayne checks back here, but yes according to his review the guests were able to buy drinks and listen to music he and the lovely Kel had selected to be played while they were getting photographs. :)

**I know i hate the waiting game for answers so I took the liberty of answering. Hope you don't mind.* :o

I don't mind at all! Thank you! I read through the whole review but it was long so I forgot a couple of the fine details. :)

  2. Did you have anything happening after the ceremony? We are going with WITB as well at Sandyport and are having a reception on the ship. We are just concerned about beverages on the beach itself. Does the Poopdeck have drinks you can buy right after the ceremony? Or what did you do with that time for the guests?

  3. From this and a couple of others you've solde on a wedding cruise

    Just got to see what

My better half comes up with

    Awesome!

This website has really saved my life (well not literally I suppose lol) but Its been so helpful to see what everyone's tricks and ideas have been like. I just can't wait.

How is everyone else sitting right now?!

  4. How about a "fun" thread....our song choices so far:

    Processional: Compass by Lady A

Bridal Entrance: Thousand Years by Christina Perri

Recessional: You Make My Dreams Come True by Hall and Oats

First Dance: Love Song by Adele

Father/Daughter Dance: I Loved Her First by Heartland

We are only doing the 1 hour reception so this is probably enough. We haven't decided about a song for cake cutting, and our joke is we will have Afternoon Delight by Starland Vocal Band as the last song (probably only older readers will get this)

As you can probably gather our taste in music is all over the place.

Processional with Bridal Entrance (Hoping it will be long enough)

    I Choose You-Acoustic Sara Bareilles

    Song During Sand Ceremony:

Glasgow Love Theme from Love Actually

    Recessional:

Signed, Sealed Delivered I'm Yours- Stevie Wonder

    First Dance:

You and Me- Dave Matthews Band

    Father/Daughter- Son/Mother Dance:

    93 Million Miles- Jason Mraz

  5. Hey;-))

Thank you so much for your offer! We have not even started booking our wedding yet and I have soooo many questions;))!How many people attending the wedding?Ours will be around 50 people. Also, what time are you getting married at the island? Are you doing civil wedding before the cruise? Are you going back to the cruise right after the ceremony? Did you organize logistics? How about decorations ect?Our issue is the fact we want longer reception like 3 hours or 2 hours of reception and 2 hours of dinner. But the cruise cannot provide such an option so we are thinking of the ways to spend longer time with our guests.

Have you been on a cruise before? It is the first one for both of us so we are looking for what to watch out for;-):):D

I could possibly help with some of your questions!

-I have around 30 people I think are coming.... possibly more, we did invite 90 but who knows.

We are getting married at Nassau at Sandyport Poopdeck Restaurant (they have a beach but also inside if it rains all day)

We are actually getting our marriage license through the Bahamas as we will be on the waters for 24 hours prior. We are getting back on the ship right away to do the 2 hour reception with the apps and open bar. We will have everyone meet us for dinner in the normal hall later in the evening.

The cruise itself is SOOOO much fun. What itinerary and ship are you going on? Make sure to check cruisecritic here on the actual ships for reviews and what to do while you're on the ship!

  6. My boyfriend and I are getting married on the Liberty too! Our date is May 3rd-8th though out of Port Canaveral. I think we have the same itinerary, just days swapped around. (I looked at your sailing date when figuring our date out.) We are getting married in Nassau (we have been before and nothing special about it unless you go to a private beach, so we do not feel bad taking that day partially away from our guests.) on Orange Hill beach resort. We are then having our reception for 1 1/2 hours back on the ship. We have basically everything planned so if you have any questions or we can talk cruise weddings, just let me know!

    Congrats!

Did you book everything already?! Awesome!!! :)

  7. TO My fellow on Island wedding folks, I am feeling like ten thousand pounds has been lifted off my shoulders after speaking with Linda at weddings in thebahamas.com She is AWESOME! I was most concerned with weather/pricing/transportation/licensing/port changes. Here's what I got back in hopes to settle some of your stressors as well, or maybe convince someone that doing an island wedding is do-able!!!

Weather- My concern was rain/storms anything hindering an outside process. Linda stated that they have a side plan that every outdoor wedding has a second location inside that we can get married at. (ex: We are getting married at the Poopdeck at Sandyport in Nassau, they have an indoor room upstairs in the restaurant to serve us if bad weather comes about.)

Pricing- Pricing was straight forward. Their prices for packages are listed on the website. She broke the itemized details down for me (arches, extra music, flowers, decor etc.) So I know what I will be receiving if I choose certain things.

Transportation- With the package we chose, it is already included. We are adding a limo at an extra cost but that is for me arriving and for me and my FH after the ceremony.

Licensing- I thought this would be tricky, (I know tender ports sometimes the days switch) and I knew that if we weren't on Bahamian waters for 24 hours that we couldn't get a license. Now when I asked her what would happen if Nassau (normally 2nd port day) was switched to the first, how would we get a valid license then? And she said with confidence, the minute your ports change you call us, verify when you'll be arriving and we handle the rest. Now, if Nassau becomes the first day (so we are not in the Bahama's for 24 hours) that we would have to pay an extra 300.00 for a member of the Bahamian licensing to come out and witness the ceremony that they would honor it. I hope this all works to plan and that nothing will change but that brings me to.....

Port Changes- She insured me that they would accommodate as much as possible and that if something did not work as planned that we would receive our money back. (not sure if the insurance is an extra cost, forgot to ask) but I WILL make this ceremony happen! :)

I just thought in my rambling that maybe I could help someone who was on the fence about choosing a beach wedding. I know for us it was something we have always dreamed about and I am determined to make it a reality. :)

Hope everyone out there is making their cruise wedding dreams a reality!!!

  8. My fiancé and I want to get married on embarkment day next summer out of Carnivals Baltimore port. I thought you paid one fee for the wedding, and everything was taken care of? And pay separate for the cruise which is fine. As I read though I see people talking about fees for this and that, so is the price on the website not correct? We haven't set a date yet, but we will soon.

It seems it's not all that simple. We are doing an on island wedding so ours does become tricky with things but if you are getting married on the ship it should all be in the initial cost on the website. Adding a reception however, costs more and make sure to watch for what is included and ask TONS of questions if you call to book.

  9. Everything is slowly starting to fall into place! YAY! We have decided with the expense of booking Carnivals ceremony (Nassau, on island ceremony) that we are just going to hire an outside vendor because Carnival wants every little thing to cost extra. We are going through Weddings in the Bahamas.com and it looks fantastic. Has anyone gone through Anne Marie/Linda before? I've heard great things.

So far we are finding it very hard to convince people to book their cruises now! I'm starting to get a little stressed because each time I log on, the rooms seem to be dwindling down and disappearing and that's not good!!!! I think Summer is hard to get people to actually get anything done, but I hope they work on it soon so I don't have a heart attack.

We are doing the Celebrate Bigger package on the ship which gives us a lot more time and options. I am still debating the DJ/Sound technician because I want to be able to play the music we like. Those people who have been on the Carnival Liberty, do you recall what the different rooms looked like? Pictures don't really do it justice and we have 3 options.

Also, does anyone have a good layout for budgeting/list of things that are most important to little details you will need? I plan on making one, but I thought asking first to see if anyone has one would be helpful! :)

Thanks all for the input, I'm definitely less stressed when reading these forums!

  10. I have to turn in my list by December 25th for our January 25th wedding so I gave them a deadline of November 14th to return RSVPs with all the required info or they can't go. It gives me time to find alternate guests if they can't.

Did you send out formal invitations or how did people RSVP?

  11. 3. Personal question, How do you guys feel about a FB group for the wedding? I am debating this for various reasons.... I was told by a couple other brides it was EXTREMELY helpful because out of state guests could just check everything and you could converse back and forth easier. My only problem with this is, I don't want it to be tacky. So it's kind of hard....opinions?!

I have one for those who have expressed interest in going. It is a nice way to collect cabin numbers and give out info. It is easier for them to find the info in the docs files than to search my wedding page for it or for them to ask questions and even meet other single friends so they can bunk together.

    4. How do you get people to book!? I'm having a tough time actually getting people to commit. Is April too early to be asking?! I mean we booked our room and others are saying for sure that they are going but I just wish people would start booking already so I can get some sort of count going!!! AHHHHHH! Stress.

I have relaxed on this and decided if they come they come, if they don't they don't. They have all been given a deadline by which to tell me so I can have all of the arrangements finalized and paid for. I have a basic Idea but only a few for sure so far.

Sounds great! What was your deadline in booking?

  12. Ok coming back with some more information I'm gathering.

    1. We have decided to book our ceremony through an outside vendor. Weddingsinthebahamas.com For various reasons we are doing it this way. The most important part is that we can make it SPECIFIC to our wants/needs and they are willing to put in the effort with EVERY single detail we want. We have read a lot of great reviews on Anne Marie and her team and I trust that everything I want will be done when I come out of that limo to meet my Future Husband. They have base prices and go up from those depending on your needs. Carnival is just to big of a company to handle all the little details and you end up spending a lot more money for it.

    2. With that being said, we are still doing the Reception on board the Carnival Liberty. We have decided to do the "It's Time to Celebrate BIGGER" package. We mostly wanted this package because it doesn't have time constraints like the others did. The time will still go by fast, but not as fast as the smaller packages. Now we just have to figure out what room we want it in and if we want a DJ/Sound guy or what.

    3. Personal question, How do you guys feel about a FB group for the wedding? I am debating this for various reasons.... I was told by a couple other brides it was EXTREMELY helpful because out of state guests could just check everything and you could converse back and forth easier. I hope you guys are all doing well, me....eh it's hard because even though I have 9 months to plan I just feel like time is moving so fast and I have so much to do! Thank goodness once you pay all the vendors you show them pictures and hopefully just sit back and relax, but I'm finding that difficult right now. ;)
